Fictional Ground Based CIWS Air Defense System


Background:

The D.Corp Dragon is a mobile grounds based CIWS system developed and manufactured by D.Corp since mid-2019. On the modern battlefield, critical ground assets and soldiers are threatened by a variety of new threats. These include precision guided munitions, mortars, drones, cruise missiles, helicopters, and other aircraft. In response, D.Corp has built an effective and unique solution to counter these threats - the Dragon. The system is effective at engaging munitions, missiles, and a variety of aircraft on land and at sea (naval variant coming soon).

Armament - One 6-barrel 30 mm DFM Gatling cannon
Effective range - 1.5 miles (2.4 km)
Max range - 2.4 miles (3.8 km) (Bullets will not do any damage past max range)

    @Minecraftpoweer “aha” was a projectile that could reach speeds of 44,000,000mph, glitching the game while doing so. I accidentally uploaded it publicly, which is why I removed it.

    @Hawkeye156 That would put the COM too high. It would also make the thing substantially larger too. Also, the roof wouldn’t be able to support such a heavy system and maintenance and reloading would be harder.

    @Dllama4 i would put the turret on top of the chassie. Then it would have a complete 360x180* action radius

    @TheSleepingInsomniac Use mouse as joystick in order to control the turret. That will eliminate the need to use WASD control. Also, please refrain from swearing.

    Is there a way to change settings so the gun doesn't automatically center? I find it really hard to juggle all the controls and be accurate

    @OrangeBoardEnterprise Yes. I already had the truck built. I just needed to remove a bunch of stuff, build the turret, add the control area, add details, and adjust suspension. If I were to build the truck along with everything else previously mentioned. It probably would’ve taken me around 6-8 hours. :)
