I’m late for this, but the TU-4 or B-29 had automated turrets in later version so are we talking early version or late?

Bombers are heavy and expensive.
Some of the fighters and most of the assault planes had stern guns... Before world war II...
It is strange, but during and after world war II guns were removed from planes. During the world war II gun was removed from the fighters(only one gun left), and during the cold war removed from the bombers.

So why do countries make fighters at all? Why not just replace every fighter with a bomber? @11qazxc

Bombers are not super heavy tanks... they are still vulnerable. So they need fighters to escort them @11qazxc

Compare superheavy tank and car with fixed gun.

Bomber has turrets, and where fighter needs to turn around, bomber just turn the turret. Bomber also has a larger caliber, and it can shoot down a fighter with one shot.

The lesson taught here is, this is why you bomb them while they're still on the ground. Lol. Awesome video, loved the plane builds.
