September 11, 2018. Reverse time 17 years.

The Twin towers just collapsed. Flight 93 just crashed. The pentagon also just collapsed. You are watching CNN coverage of the attacks as it all goes down. You are powerless. Helpless. Watching and praying from California. All air traffic leaves the skies. Where you are nothing seems out of the ordinary. All you know is that thousands of miles away, four planes collided head on with multiple targets and destroyed them, killing hundereds of people at least. The president claims terrorism is the root cause. That is not enough closure though because all you are thinking about is that your sister is working in New York today. You are crying. Frantically calling your sister but no answer.

That is you. Those moments are why you never forget September 11, 2001, and the events are fresh in your brain 17 years later, like it happened yesterday. Please today remember 9/11 like the people involved remember it. This is how we never forget so that the legacy of 2,977 innocent people goes on forever.

@Awsomur @ForeverPie Again, as I mentioned on the other post (Awsomur you probably can't see it), let's not get authoritarian about it. SimplePlanes is a place for fun and games, not forced collective thinking. People have different coping mechanisms. Some find humour in pain, others do not. But nobody should be told how to deal with their pain unless they are causing more pain to themselves (i.e. destructive coping).

Nobody, I repeat. NOBODY. Wants another 9/11. Nobody wants another world war and nobody wants anything else that will cause mass pain and suffering. Sure, people might act like everything's fine. people might ignore what's happened. But that is none of your business. They cope in their own way. If you don't approve of it, that's fine, but do not try and tell them how to cope with an event as tragic as this.

I can feel your pain. I didn’t have anyone in NYC at the time, but the feeling of powerlessness is still strong. Nice tribute.

And also, I find the comments on this post absolutley disgraceful. “Oof” and “7/11” are not appropriate to say about the attacks on this day or any other day.
