[Debate] Nazi,appropriate or not

3,210 FutureAviation  6.2 years ago

As we all know, many WW2 stuffs made by users are German war machines.
I think that is undoubtedly legal and NOT against the rules.

However, are the Swastikas(Nazi badge or something) appropriate to show up in the site?

Looking forward to your delicious opinions

(Not to offend anyone)No it is not bad it was the flag of a country and all the soldiers in my opinion should be honored for fighting for there country just like our soldiers are us,British, and a lot of other country’s have done loads wrong but there never brought to light because the victors of the war write the history

@Devilchicken365 late I know, by three months, but I stumbled across this and should inform you that the swastika was indeed used on all Luftwaffe aircraft, painted on the vertical stabilizer. The "plus sign" you refer to is the Balkenkreuz, painted on the rear fuselage and the tops and bottoms of the wings.

Also I just read the comments and I will repeat this in caps. SWASTIKAS ARE NOT A BAD SYMBOL. THEY WERE USED BY HITLER TO BRING GOOD LUCK TO HIS CONQUESTS.

Also swastikas were used by hitler in the army not the Air Force. He used the plus signs in the Air Force.

Well technically swastikas are an an ancient symbol used by Germanic tribes near the fall of the western Roman Empire to show strength and good luck. The only thing that made them bad was the crazy lunatic himself that went by the name hitler.
P.S. I do not in any way have sympathy for the Third Reich I’m just using the correct terms.

We could make it so only dem black plus signs are allowed. Swastikas were rare in the Nazi air force.

@Tully2001 lol if the country existed in any form before/during the early modern era they likely practiced some kind of slavery.

It's a part of history that would be dangerous to ignore, so as long as no one is praising nazi ideology, then I'm fine with seeing nazi planes.

Yes, they are. Although they are a symbol of hate and terrible things, it's okay on a plane for realism. If I decided to build a plane around that time from Germany, I would probably put a swastika in its place because I like realism, and I would also make a disclaimer that I do not support the Nazis etc.

I feel like it's undecided now, it's getting controversial, but it is a piece of important history, so eh.

@Blue0Bull I better not join this, because I may hear what the Poland did wrong, and it may hurt my heart (not really, I'm a real patriotic, not a "Your country is bad, mine is the best" person)

That is not the case. I have seen alternate history builds removed for just that reason.

@Oski It can also be an alternate history fictional build.

A swastika is a sign of peace, but then the nazis used it.

It’s not against the rules as long as there is no political message.

If it's a historically acurrate replica, then go ahead. If no, it'll most likely get taken down.
