I feel like adding ads was both YouTube's best and worst choice
On one hand, people could now make money
On the other hand, Ads completely f♥cked with the freedom on YouTube, because in the words of Bigg Tugg: "YouTube doesn't wanna piss of advertisers, and advertisers don't wanna piss of christians" (yes, it all goes back to Christianity because WHEN DOES IT NOT)
In all honesty, I think ads, and monetization on YT should've never existed
Yes, it's a good way to get money without getting into the corporate world, but it's also super unstable and short term (just like any other branch of the entertainment industry)

Youtube itself can assign adbreaks in videos, but youtubers themselves can also choose that to an extent
And maybe I just have a nice ad block I forgot about

I can go on YouTube and get demonetized for saying a swear word too early in the vid, I can get my video age restricted because I mention SH, because the eensie weensie feelings of the advertisers might not morally want their Cheezits megacronchers ad on my video about SH but they're completely morally fine with aforementioned megacronchers being paired with a literal NSFW chat bot site, casual standards yk?

Over here in Kindleland (Yes, I use a kindle fire, point and laugh at me), the ad situation is much better
When I use my Kindle to watch vids on youtube, I can only get one ad, and that ad can only appear at the start of the video.
On my PC, uh, the ad situation is just as terrible as yours

Bro in mobile i always get 2 unskippable ads 30 sec per 5 mins especially when i watch reviews

oh and demonizing channels that say "kill" but still allowing ads that show porn to children on the site. i have seen some very messed up ads on youtube and KEEP GETTING SEEN THE SAME FUCKING AD EVERY SINGLE TIME. THAT STUPID DAVES HOT CHICKEN BITES AD I GET IT EXLUSIVLY AAAAAAAAAAAAA

The creators kinda need the money to still make videos…
