  • How can I post screen shot that I took while flying, not the static shot ? 3.5 years ago

    click me!
    edit:
If you're on mobile, you have to turn on dev console. To take a screenshot midair, pause the game, and run the command //MainCamera>Camera.set_depth 10. If you want to make it better, also run the command //MainCamera>Camera.set_fieldOfView 10. I personally use 10, just because it feels right for me. You can change it between 5-60. 60 is the normal FoV value. Not recommending to go higher past that, because it looks kind of bad.

    @Korzalerke
yes, Lt. was correct, I did mean to say "just make a custom nozzle" but I somehow typed that instead
I do agree though, TVC is pretty tedious to do, and I'd love seeing one.

  • Plane tilting forward even on slight movement 3.5 years ago

    Playing with a keyboard?
The thing is, keyboards always put the input to max amount or the minimum amount regardless of how long you press it.
If you're not playing with keyboard, I suggest just putting the com further away from the col, but not too far

looking from the fuselage design and the color scheme, I'd say a Su-33 Flanker-D.
also, note that the Su-33 does not have a tvc, and the newer versions have blue afterburners.

  • What is the best stock plane? 3.5 years ago

I honestly think it's the Hornet (aka Wasp). The whole thing is very good.
Although two thing I don't like about it are the fbw system and the thrust/weight ratio. the fbw sometimes just messes with your maneuvers, and I just don't like unrealistic t/w ratios. The hornet has a pretty weak engine, since the T/W of the hornet is around 0.8,while the game's Hornet is around 1.3. But then again I could easily change it.

Did you play on low physics settings? shocks/wheels usually does that.
on how fixing it, tune the damper and the suspension strength so it can be stable. It works for me.
Nvm. Just checked the GIF and it's the rotator problem. To fix it, go to the overload menu, go to the Joint Rotator section, put damperMultiplier and put the value above 1. Should make the rotator less wobbly.

  • SIMPLEPLANES updates in 2022 3.6 years ago

Not a really big car lover, but I very much agree. Especially wheel physics.
In case you didn't know, if you mirror a wheel to the other side, it'll steer to wherever side you last mirrored it. It isn't too noticeable if you're making a car, but if you're making planes with custom landing gears, it is very noticeable. This can be fixed by tuning down the sideways traction. But that causes another problem. Massive understeer. Not only that, if you steer too much, you will drift. This is super annoying.

  • I have a few questions~ 3.6 years ago

    1. Idk what you mean by smooth. And I've never built an airliner.
    2. Put the Center of Mass (CoM) slightly infront of the Center of Lift (CoL) and keep adjusting it until it flies smoothly. It works for me.
    3. Idk what you mean by that, but what I do know is you can make custom landing gears by putting a fuselage with a car wheel on a hinge rotator that has the XML input to "LandingGear". If you're in PC, you can simply l ctrl+click on the input to enter "Funky" which means you can put something that the base options won't put. If you're on mobile however, you have to enable the Overload mod so you can edit the part properties by files.
    4. This one is very simple. Get a hinge rotator, put the input to pitch, put a jet engine, and put the intake onto the jet engine. If you want to have it to also have an input for a roll, you can have another rotator connected to the first rotator and change the input of said rotator to roll. Mirror it to the other side, and put the invert to false. Keep in mind that jet engines put in a rotator will disregard any intakes outside the intakes that is put to the engines. I'll explain this better in a post later.
    5. This is kind of tricky, but the most simplest way is to get a panel, attach it to a hinge rotator, have the input to VTOL, and attach the rotator into a fuselage block. Mirror, and boom, done.
Again, I'll explain these things better in a post later.

yep, same here. Sometimes when I tried to comment, it'll lag and send an error message. And pages sometimes don't refresh itself, which lead me to believe that I didn't send the message, which resulted in me sending the same message twice. It also just happened to this comment. Somehow my first comment about this wasn't sent, and I ended up refreshing the page. But when I checked, the comment wasn't there. And then the third message (which is the same exact message as this one, except this part was edited) which I accidentally sent, wouldn't wanna be gone from my screen no matter how much I refreshed this page.

it is advised to have the com in front of the col just a bit.
Although, having the com just in front of the col will make your plane harder to control, but it gives more maneuverability. If too close, your aircraft will perform PSM easily. if it's pretty close, it would either make the plane able to fly straight, or pitch up slowly over time. This I think is based of physics quality. This comment was based on my experience in low physics.
