I dunno if you have any experience with general android development, but now that SP won't get any updates for quite some time, I have a good theory of how the community could bring back android modding support. (I'm no android dev myself but I've seen the same thing happen to other apps, so it could be doable.)
Said theory is patching. We do not have to abide by the play store's rules, we can extract the simpleplanes apk, decompile it, insert our own code, re-sign it, and bam, we have mods. We shouldn't have the patch itself contain mods, instead, we have the patch be a modloader that lets the game read and run standard spmod.android files. The mobile version can still run certain map mods, but lacks the support to run any real code, Perhaps we can patch in a way to run the code instead of a whole modloader.
(Search up ReVanced & lucky patcher if you want examples of apk patching)
Which custom map will you be driving this in? I'm on mobile but I can still optimize the car for certain driving conditions. Right now I'm just making it go around gold prix as fast as the max speed will allow
If we are allowed to edit the code and edit the wheels, then I can just turn the wheels stock and use them as normal wheels. Time to reupload blazing aquamarine again
@ToeTips experiment. Optimize it for the physics settings you are going for. Keep in mind that you will need to have the numbers in scientific notation anyways. For starters, id start with 1e+10. You can reference simplecheats II for what the values do.
You can also download my linear actuator stuff to see what I did to get the effect.
@hpgbproductions the surface would still move, if I wanted the surface to truely stay still, I would do This
If ag5 is off, the surface uses Pitch, if it's on, it will cause the variable to reference whatever was last in it, in this case, the last Pitch value used before the group was activated
@DJW730 SP won't run on a raspberry pi. It is FAR below the minimum specs. If you are using a regular PC, install steamos onto it and use proton to run it
@RepublicOfCursedPlanes JNO has one connection per connection point per part. You cant just connect everything together willy nilly like you can in SP. In JNO, I can only have a fuel tank connected to one end of a rotator and a wing on the other
in SP, I could have 4 fuselages, a wing, and a missile connected to one end, and have the other end connected to multiple fuselages, a fuel tank, and a cockpit block.
The pointer tool on JNO mobile has much smaller hotboxes than the one on SP mobile, leading to me fat fingering it and creating a giant mess of mirrored parts.
Unfortunate to see, but not surprising. I would move over to SR2 and start building there, but due to severe limitations of it's building system, I will stick around here. SP shall never die.
Thankfully, I managed to escape the car meet. It's surprising how long they managed to keep up with my GP-1 (ignoring the fact that they decided to use a fighter jet to keep up)
While I was pretty much the public face of the team, I havent curated much. I haven't curated since almost a year ago. School and work just got in the way. In fact, the whole team hasn't done much to begin with, much less than you think.
Before we go adding big stuff, the game needs to go through some spring cleaning. I've already made a road map for an update that does just that. Here's a quick rundown of it:
Simpleplanes 1.13: just the little things.
Fix bugs. Lots of bugs
Add as much quality of life stuff as possible
Rename mods to extra on mobile
Sort saved airplanes alphabetically
Update tutorials to show how fuselages work
Add In-game funky trees tutorial, snow left sp and his guides aren't being updated anymore.
In-game version of simplecheats II, I've stopped updating it and will make it open source soon
Allow exports of STL files
Allow weapons to have any input
Allow changing of the brake input on landing gear and wheels
Change the LandingGear input to be a boolean
Recompile the game so the Google play store doesn't block the game from being installed on newer devices
Add in-game disclaimers about mod support on mobile
On mobile, add a dedicated dev console button instead of having it be a 3 finger tap. A lag spike will make the console appear almost every time.
ALLOW UPLOADING PLANES WITH PHOTOS FROM YOUR LOCAL FILES.
remove tournament verifier
Bring back best of all time on website
Bring back developer section in the users page
Allow changing physics settings on SPVR quest (with disclaimers and warnings)
And lots other smaller stuff
@5 wii didn't have his acc deleted, he was banned.
Devs still curate
+1I suggest moving to another game engine, if you haven't heard the news, just Google unity game engine and you can see the carnage
+3@kyomunosekai and the tu-14
@kyomunosekai check your notifications, I upvoted the tu-95
Checkmate
+1@RepublicOfCursedPlanes hey wait, I thought I was sending those out

+4(Search up ReVanced & lucky patcher if you want examples of apk patching)
Add arrows to input selectors and turn the text into a text input field for direct funky trees programming
Mass XML edit (edit attributes of many parts at once, if multiple part types are selected, only the attributes they share are editable)
If you can, disable the "mods must be disabled in order to log in" message
Ability to change the size of FT debug expression outputs, my big monitor makes em too small to be readable
Ability to upload with screenshots via just selecting a file on your computer's file system

Count me in. Can I make multiple entries? I wanna make two that follow the rules in various ways, and one that I wanna push the limits with

@ToeTips go ahead, it's what I uploaded it for

Grats
@ToeTips yes but you have to crank up the values to have the same effect
@BRDM controlsurface
Time has already forgotten the jade rank.

Activate5?0:(INPUT)guys, if/else statements exist
2 but give the player cockpit controls so they don't lose control of the aircraft while gunning
Huh, never expected to see you again. Welcome back
+1@Rocketguy2079 @1 belongs to a deleted/banned account, tried that before becoming @3

Me who's been delaying my dragster since before last year:
I'm 0.1 older so I'm legally better than you
+1Lost pretty much the entirety of my mom's side of the family not too long ago. I understand your pain.
eat it
+1@RepublicOfCursedPlanes stuff like this isn't possible in JNO, at least without manually modifying the connections in the XML file

+4Seeing comments here that are blatantly not reading the forum post. May as well reiterate:
SP UPDATES ARE ON HOLD INDEFINITELY. ASKING FOR SPECIFIC FEATURES WILL GET YOU NOWHERE.Hopefully the big red text catches people's attention

+4I know the poll from whenever long ago chose the red and white color scheme, but I ended up liking this color scheme better.
Congratulations on platinum, your okthxbye permit is in the mail
+1@SamuelJamesCastor a tank can't hold a speed of 500 mph (800 kph) around corners

+1@CL125 oh alr. Hope he's doing well
+1@OwO did he really delete his account over that?
+2@32 no, it does so completely randomly when selecting from AI, dogfights, and races
