This is ridiculous.(Nevermind)

Ive been having a serious problem with the rotators.

See I've been trying to make short travel race suspension but it seems like the rotators connection has been taking all of the shock.

This is bad because the top rotator moves around and creates camber which is terrible for grip. It's not just a little. The wheel moves about 35 degrees.

which basically means the suspension doesn't work at all.

this is true for the hinge rotators also.
It seems so simple to fix and it will go such a long way

thanks

Also! Are they floppy by default?

@V Okay this evening i will take a look at your actuator, i tend to learn better by emulating success. I might even borrow and modify it if you don't mind.

@ToeTips experiment. Optimize it for the physics settings you are going for. Keep in mind that you will need to have the numbers in scientific notation anyways. For starters, id start with 1e+10. You can reference simplecheats II for what the values do.
You can also download my linear actuator stuff to see what I did to get the effect.

@V what values exactly? Im making a race suspension so this would save a lot of performance points

@ToeTips yes but you have to crank up the values to have the same effect

Do control bases work for low physics?

Rotators are obsolete, use a control base

In the case that adding mass isn't favorable, you can also take the large rotator and scale it down to your liking (it doesn't have the same joint flex problem).

    Same thing happens to me

@Sm10684 did it work tho ? I don't know if you had time to test it yet

@ollielebananiaCFSP shouldn't be a problem since its unsprung weight.

@Sm10684 you can also add mass to the parts directly connected to it, it's weird but rotators are stronger when heavier

    @ollielebananiaCFSP Ill try that.

    add mass to the rotators

@ChronicMotors yeah makes sense about struts since the control arm doesn't provide any spring strength rather just adds support to the strut.

    I've noticed that too.
Long travel suspension doesn't seem to have this problem.
    Macphearson strut also.
