There’s not many gnats around that’s for sure. You could even do the red arrows version. I’m sure you’d do the sea fury justice too if you’d decided but I think a good version of the seafire fr46 wouldn’t go amiss. All after a well earned break of course! @RamboJutter
No, really interesting stuff! @RamboJutter glad you have a good source of inspiration! I spend my time trawling through postwar stuff (when we had an aircraft industry)
Kind of you to say! @Strolled I just build what interests me to the best of my limited abilities. This particular build was causing my old iPad to crash with disturbing frequency due to the part count (at a dizzying 489 parts). But still, a true leviathan in it day - you should check out the improvements made by RamboJutter, truly remarkable!
Yeah we did pretty horrendously against the Japanese in the Pacific theatre. Underestimating your adversary can be costly. I read a bio on an ex RAF pilot who was there at the fall of Singapore and his opinion was the defence of Singapore and the campaign leading up to is was an utter farce. To be fair you have to agree with then man - the sinking of the Repulse and Prince of Wales, the complete lack of defences on the landward side of Singapore and of course the eventual surrender of an army that outnumbered the attacker. Not our finest hour by any means. @GhostHTX
Heavens above! My thanks to you all! Apologies for releasing a similar build on the bounce as it were, exploding ailerons and missing intakes did warrant a quiet word with myself. I figured had Hawker gone ahead with this type it naturally would have been proposed to the FAA. (When we used to have one of course.....)
@EternalDarkness @SgtK @Mumpsy @Sunnyskies @SledDriver @FastDan @USSR and @Razor3278
As ever I’m amazed at your eye for replicating a design which is spot on. I’ve only tweaked your profile shot is of a bike - is this an interest of yours @RamboJutter ?
Not too bad, all this talk of a BBQ summer has inadvertently had the effect of performing a rain dance - so nothing out the ordinary! How’s our brethren across the pond? @ChiChiWerx
@Alien spoken like a true professional. Self-effacing and most gracious of you. The average person (myself included) has no idea of the daring-do yourself and your oppos got up to in the ether above our heads and I'm sure it would be one hell of a read! After all you've piloted some iconic all British fighters - the likes of which (sadly) we probably wont ever see again.
There's a certain menacing purposefulness about the Hetzer you've captured spot on here. German armour in the second world war took some beating and regularly held off greater numbers of their allied counterparts.
Good to here that and thanks for answering my curiosity! Regarding the previous episode you mentioned - have you ever thought about writing a book about your experiences?
I know you could regale me for hours about being a fighter pilot but I had a specific question in mind ref the Lightning. I know The Lightning had a hell of a lot of power and speed but how was it for an old fashion dog fight - I mean could it match/out turn the migs of the day? My old maths teacher was an ex lightning pilot. Brilliant guy, mad as a hatter but what a teacher.

Man, how I wish I wasn’t tied to an iPad.....
Exceptional stuff - you certainly don’t fail to disappoint!
Yeah higher settings no break up and flies nicely, lovely job with the variable exhaust vanes!
Bang on old boy! Some flight issues resulting in catastrophic break up but going to try again on higher settings!
Brilliant job! Looks the mutts nuts!
You build some class of boat!
Flies nicely!
+1Beautiful stuff as ever!
Very nice! Can’t believe your bronze....?!
Looks sublime! Apologies for not taking part, lack of time and I’ve wrapped on the challenge front of late.
Cracking job!

The tropical variant I assume, good stuff!
Absolutely stark raving bonkers! Brilliant!
Marvellous! Bloody marvellous!
Random and retro - I love it!
Thank you! @Zott
Glad to be of service! I do like the cancelled projects that the big movers and shakers had planned @RamboJutter
Maybe so, nice build though!
“It really annoys me how 80% of my posts are forums” - what is this telling you?

Humbled and in debted to you Sir! Am I to assume our interest categories overlap somewhere? @RamboJutter

Many thanks again and for spotlighting my mediocrity! @RamboJutter
I was never any good at colouring in, looks and flies great though!
Thanks @CRJ900Pilot glad you think so!
What a beauty! Have a spotlight for your efforts!
Not too bad, all this talk of a BBQ summer has inadvertently had the effect of performing a rain dance - so nothing out the ordinary! How’s our brethren across the pond? @ChiChiWerx
Absolutely tip top old bean! I’d better spotlight whilst I still can....
Beautiful build here!
+1Not enough time old boy, got many-a semi completed projects though I keep distracting myself with! How’s the “Buck” coming? @RamboJutter
Most excellent! Bravo!
+1@RCBOSS cool alternative timeline concept as well!
There's not enough (a) bike on this site and (b) classic bikes. iOS built as well gives me hope!

Nice insignia!

As ever no dramas! @SgtK

Oh, I had no idea, good to be corrected! @EnglishWhiskey
Rather nice but shouldn’t it be sons of the motherland!?....
Really is a work of art!
+2Loud and clear! @MrKoT
Lovely job, I made one of these a while back and in the process of giving it an upgrade as they are quite rare!
Great Odin’s raven! Consider me a follower!
