@RamboJutter oh I hear ya. I use a 30in tv screen and Aviastar. I blow up the image to 1:32 scale and then use a measurement piece. My F-104 is very close to yours in size.

@Andrewgarrison they only appeared one time. Like how the convoys only appear procedurally. I'm thinking it's either a bug that they appear or a bug that they only appeared once.

I'm going to see if having freecam deactivated fixes it.
Edit: It's a bug with the Freecam mod. :D Yes, it does look more vibrant. Can't wait to see what this opens the door for!
