    @Gameboi14 @WIZARD2017 Yeah, I know who it is. It's all part of a concerted effort to try to get a rise out of me. It's kinda cute, really :)

  • Wyvern 5.9 years ago

    Thanks, @Texasfam04. Yeah, when I built this, I was blown away by how much difference a slight angle makes. Kicked myself for not trying it earlier.

  • Invictus 5.9 years ago

    Glad you like it, @Ryan2001. If you look through my posts pages, you'll find lots of even nuttier builds.

    Thanks, @Tarquez

    @Shemes213 You asked a civil question, no need to apologise.

  • Minigun KV-2 ''Russian Bias'' 5.9 years ago

    The controls are a bit weird, but it's a pretty good concept.

  • SR-71 Blackbird Silver Edition 5.9 years ago

    @Nickr I know, right? Just an endless stream of people who don't think for themselves, who don't care to talk to me to see where I'm coming from, who just regurgitate whatever propaganda they've heard from the haters on this website and who feel free to offer me advice when my building skill is many, many levels above theirs. Oof indeed.

  • SR-71 Blackbird Silver Edition 5.9 years ago

    @Randomdoggo If I want your suggestions, I'll ask for them. But for your information, I build landing gear when I feel like it. I'm fairly sure that mine is the only XB-70 on SP so far to have landing gear with the three-axis rotation of the original. Which is not a tremendous achievement by my standards, but considering no one else has done it, I find it amusing that people think I can't build landing gear... especially when I've addressed the matter in the FAQ section on my profile.

  • SR-71 Blackbird Silver Edition 5.9 years ago

    @Maxwing1 Were you nice? Did you upvote my build? Did you leave a nice comment? You really couldn't find one positive thing to say about a build like this? No, instead you had the nerve to ask why I don't just do the same thing as everyone else. Considering all that, I think I was a lot nicer than you deserve.

  • SR-71 Blackbird Silver Edition 5.9 years ago

    @Nerfaddict Good.

  • SR-71 Blackbird Silver Edition 5.9 years ago

    @Nerfaddict Correction: I am not an average person.

  • SR-71 Blackbird Silver Edition 5.9 years ago

    @Maxwing1 What's a "normal" plane? Who gets to define what's "normal"? And where does this idea come from that everyone should only do what someone has decreed is "normal"?

    If everyone only did what's "normal" we'd still be living in caves. Because that was "normal" at one time.

    You look at something that's several levels up from "normal", and instead of saying "wow, that's amazing" all you can say is "why don't you make normal planes"?

    I hope you change your attitude radically sometime soon, or you're headed for a dead average life.

  • SR-71 Blackbird Silver Edition 5.9 years ago

    @FOXLOVER It's not available.

  • SR-71 Blackbird Silver Edition 5.9 years ago

    Glad you find it so, @Tang0five

  • SR-71 Blackbird Silver Edition 5.9 years ago

    @Shemes213 none of my builds are from the past. Even if a build of mine looks like a replica, it's supposed to be a recreation using future technology.

    There are other differences as well - the shape is slightly different, the engines are much larger, and it has a bare metal finish instead of the usual black paint. And it goes nearly twice as fast as the real Blackbird could.

    The idea is not to limit myself to what's been done before, but to imagine what could be.

    And thanks, but I don't like cookies. Dried meats are more my thing :)

  • SR-71 Blackbird Silver Edition 5.9 years ago

    @CRJ900Pilot There are so many interesting facts about the SR-71. Most people, even most enthusiasts, have only scratched the surface of all there is to know.

    I made a YF-12 earlier. At that time I didn't have the blended fuselage-chine-wing shape figured out, though.

  • Sanger 1 5.9 years ago

    @AWESOMENESS360 Yeah, I got that name ("Carbex") from an excellent science-fiction novel called Reach, written by an actual astronaut, Ed Gibson.

  • Sanger 1 5.9 years ago

    Glad you like it, @Armyguy1534

  • Sanger 1 5.9 years ago

    Thanks, @spefyjerbf

  • Sanger 1 5.9 years ago

    @Whatt I'm always nice unless someone comes at me with an attitude or acts in bad faith.

  • Sanger 1 5.9 years ago

    @CRJ900Pilot Sure, that'd only take about 360 more parts :)

  • Sanger 1 5.9 years ago

    @CRJ900Pilot Thanks. I'll use color if the build calls for it. On this one, for instance, I can't see anything colorful looking good. Feel free to prove me wrong, though.

  • Sanger 1 5.9 years ago

    @FairFireFight You're right, thanks for pointing that out. That's what I get for copy-pasting...

  • Sanger 1 5.9 years ago

    Right you are, @TMach5.

    @Whatt Here's the jaggediest of them all. A scaly one. A chunky one. Smooth and jagged at the same time. Here's one that's chunky as hell. A blocky one. Another blocky one.

    So you see, I make a lot more than smooth builds. But yeah, in general, I like smooth stuff. I could add panel lines if I wanted to, but they're very expensive in terms of parts. For instance, one smooth shape could be built out of 400 parts. If I wanted just one panel line crossing that, I'd need another 400 parts. Two lines, 800 parts. So it's partly what I prefer, and partly a limitation of the game engine.

  • Sanger 1 5.9 years ago

    @Whatt Also, I do have some blocky builds as well. But flying shapes are supposed to be smooth, you know...

  • Sanger 1 5.9 years ago

    @Whatt Because... that's... what... I... like.

  • Sanger 1 5.9 years ago

    Spasiba, @USSR. Glad you like.

  • Sanger 1 5.9 years ago

    Thanks, @Treadmill103. I thought you might like this one :)

    Thanks again, @1234planebuilder @PositivePlanes

  • Smooth Shape Generator 5.9 years ago

    @0n33 Read my first reply to you below, see if you can figure it out.

  • Smooth Shape Generator 5.9 years ago

    @0n33 You're not very good at reading, are you...

  • Smooth Shape Generator 5.9 years ago

    @0n33

    Hey SledDriver.. i was dared to criticize your builds.. please dont take anything too seriously.. ill criticize them once you have read this.. and also once you accepted
    my permission to criticize them..

    When I respond negatively to criticism, it's because it was dumb, or it was said rudely. So if you can avoid those two mistakes, feel free. It would also save time if you could avoid criticizing things that are deliberate choices, e.g. "lol why don't you paint your builds" or "why are your builds so smooth" etc.

  • [Build] Area 51 Challenge Shadowseed 1 5.9 years ago

    @Galeo @CptJacobson I'd hardly have upvoted it if I thought it was a copy...

  • Pearl Diver 5.9 years ago

    @Armyguy1534 That's strange. Are you sure you have the right bearing and speed? If it works for some Android users it should work for all Android users.

  • Wyvern 6.0 years ago

    Thanks, @Bendabomb

  • Wyvern 6.0 years ago

    @Mmdben Not at all. It means "you're operating from an incorrect assumption"... if you want me to elaborate I'll be happy to, but later (I've to leave for work).

  • Wyvern 6.0 years ago

    @Hedero You got it exactly right. And thanks.

  • Wyvern 6.0 years ago

    @Mmdben It doesn't take a lot of time to create something beautiful...

  • Wyvern 6.0 years ago

    @IlikeToFlyandcrash Well, I disagree.

  • Wyvern 6.0 years ago

    @IlikeToFlyandcrash Thanks, but that's an odd thing to say. How much work went into something says absolutely nothing about how good it is.

  • Wyvern 6.0 years ago

    Thanks, @TheAmericanPilot

  • Wyvern 6.0 years ago

    Glad you like it that much, @DeathStalker627

  • Wyvern 6.0 years ago

    Thanks, @Treadmill103. Experimenting with shapes is what I'm all about :)

  • Wyvern 6.0 years ago

    @Notaleopard Oh ok.

  • Wyvern 6.0 years ago

    @FairFireFight OK, you didn't upvote this so I thought you were attacking it/me.

  • Wyvern 6.0 years ago

    @Notaleopard Er, you know I've released a bunch of flight modules. Why would I do that unless I was OK with people using them? The one used in this build was released three months ago.

  • Wyvern 6.0 years ago

    @FairFireFight The name "Wyvern" didn't originate with that aircraft. A wyvern is:

    A fire-breathing dragon used in medieval heraldry; had the head of a dragon and the tail of a snake and a body with wings and two legs.

    A little knowledge can be embarassing, can't it?

  • Wyvern 6.0 years ago

    Thanks, @Misaka14714. I think the word you want is "smooth" :) I use scripts to generate the shapes out of many fuselage blocks.
