The fact that you used ChatGPT is clearly blameworthy to me.

  • Graingy Survey: When Giving Feedback, How Harsh Are You? 3 months ago

When giving feedback, most of the time I talk about precise points, and I encourage the builder so he know what he could do on his future builds in order to get better.
Sometimes there is just nothing to say. Or sometimes when the build is not playable, I give up. I prefer to spend time on builds which have great potential and in which I feel that the builder want to put efforts in them.

@Onat67 Thank you for your very precise reply. As I said, you made a great build.
However, the sentence "but it didn't work correctly" implies a skill issue. What I want to say is that, if you are reversing all the Trim inputs by VTOL (and VTOL by Trim) correctly, there shouldn't be any problem. Having them in a more conventionnal command configuration would have made a more instinctive flight experience for the players :)
And as you probably understood, the basic problem is the sizing of your wings and control surfaces. But that's up to you to think about it in your next builds.
You can still improve so your builds will be even better.

This is a really great build. I am currently making a flight model tutorial, so I made a lot of researchs about that, and I have to say I see a very very few builders that understand how to do that (in particular, adjusting the drag instead of increasing the engine power). So well done !
The only drawback I found on this build is the braking force of the wheels. Anyway it's really close to "perfect", keep it up !

    Interesting. Nice build
I don't really see any advantage in switching the VTOL with the Trim...

  • how the sigma do i use funky trees 3 months ago

Read the Funky Trees guide by Snowflake0s, it contains all the variables you can use in the game. At the bottom of this guide you can find the math operators you can use.
Then, open the console, and with the expression DebugExpression you can test different codes or variables to see how they evolve.

@BaconEggs I think it's sufficient to explain that the THS keep its position when Trim is 0, and to refer to the cockpit indication

  • Boeing 767-233 Air Canada 3 months ago

Nice, it is suprisingly very agile. Also I don't really like the fact that we can't control the Trim.

  • Airbus A330-343 generic 3 months ago

@Yukie570 The acceleration is too high (takeoff distance too short)
The braking force may be a bit too high
The roll rate at high speed is too high, which can damage parts on the aircraft,
The THS (trim) is only visual and inverted
I think that's quite all I have seen
Also I really like your sort of guide to start the engines, that's a great idea which works well in the game

@MTFUE11 You're welcome, I'm glad this helped you.

  • HH139 Project (Inexperienced heli maker) 5 months ago

    @MTFUE11 I know the basics
What I can tell for your heli:
You don't need a gyroscope if you tune the heli parts well.
    Tail rotor:
    - Mode: head hold
    - Linkage speed: 0.00s
    - Gyro speed: As you like, it's the speed you need to complete a full rotation.
    Main rotor:
    - Power: You don't need so much power, reducing it will set a more realistic spool time, and and make a realistic effect of lose of power if you pull big inputs on the rotor.
    - Cyclic pitch / roll : adjust that to be easy to control and to don't have too much input. Somehow Heli rotor output is exponential and I don't understand that. I don't think it's the same irl.
Apart from that, it's not bad. Your "blocky" building style is special but well made !

  • VTOL Tutorial for Beginners 5 months ago

@WinsWings You're wrong. Gyroscope are used in RL aircraft to measure the orientation of the aircraft, and such gyroscope don't have the sufficient force to change the orientation of the aircraft (as you can do in SP). Instead bleed air is taken from the engines and ejected in the wing tips or nose/tail to be able to control the aircraft.
I'm not saying that you can't use a gyroscope in SP, you do what you want, it's a game afterall. We're just joking about the fact that every rookie uses gyroscopes in their build because it's the easiest way to control it's orientation when you don't know other ways (here that's a tutorial for begineers, so it seems logical to talk about it, however it's not the only way, that's it :) ).
