@ThePrototype I haven't decided yet, there are a couple of small single seat arado fighters I've been looking at but I'm not 100% sure I'm going to build them
@bigguns1234 it's not amphibious, I never said It was, It lands at a slow speed hence floating in to land which is a pretty common term for something that flies slow and is still controllable.
@TheRussiansAreComing yeah if you are on a pc it's relatively straight forward. Make a circle the right diameter for what you want, zoom in to see how many flat sections make up the circle, make a flat piece to suit the width of the flat bit and rotate it (usually 7.5 degrees for the first on and 15 additional degrees after, if 24 sides) create enough pieces for one whole side, attach them to your first piece so they click, then rotate each member and nudge into place. Once one half is done add a canopy to the exact centre and copy to the other side, then remove your original circle and the canopy. Voila. Alternatively find one of my ducted fans and Nick the bits :)
@Homemadeforthepros strange, I have neither of those problems and have just tested it again. The landing gear does spread if u don't pull back to take off, is that what you mean? I hadnt touched the landing gear since the last version.
@Tang0five thanks man, that wing was no end of bother, still ended up a bit long and narrow but heho it works :) I liked the bit where the wheels are still visible when retracted like the real spitfire.
@TheGuyYouMightKnow seconded. If you also get the x-ray mod it will help you find lost bits and can make hidden placement better. Very impressed with your builds so far, mine where still boxes at your level.
@TheOwlAce yep. No argument there. But its fun though :) the actual elevators are hidden in the rear fusrlage if u wsnt to reduce the size or throw of the control surfaces.
@Tang0five yeah they are not simple, i struggle as well because real aircraft have a twist to the hull where it changes angle along the length, this is impossible on simple planes so I just make it work and hope it looks similar. As for the boyancy I cheat with 'overload' mod I can increase individual parts floatation past the standard levels, so for instance my little floats have a figure of 10 instead of 1 which keeps the floats at the right level. After that is just balancing floatation of parts along the hull so its not too nose or tail high. To be fair though its this playing with parts that I enjoy, i do cheat however. For instance I have used a scaling mod on most of my wing parts so they have greater lift for the same surface area and I use small hidden canards a lot to help alleviate nose heavy or bad flying charactaristicts. Feel free to strip any of my planes for parts if it helps. Rotators I have shrunk so they fit nicer and I did nick a remodelled rotator from someones F100 (was an awesome alteration and if I can find the fella I will credit him for it as I use that one bit on most planes).
@Tang0five thanks man, it didn't disintegrate on me, almost every part has collisions turned off. When I first tested it it did do a weird thing where the throttle still worked even when it had ran out of fuel but I dialed the power back and that seemed to fix it. I'm not massively happy with it personally as it ended up a bit fatter than the real thing and those flipping skis are a pain, but overall it seemed close to the real thing. I should have put more detail in but I ran out of enthusiasm for it.
Cool man, I love the lightning, the wheels are a pain cos they twist as they retract so need both hinge and rotating mechanisms, I've made a few lightnings if you want to nick bits or ideas.
Woot cheers people. It really does fly well, when I was building it I had much larger control surface wings, on my first flight it was mental, it was more manoverable than a xtra or equivalent stunt aircraft :) A 'what if' version in naval camo and extra armament may follow if I get time.
Second plane I have ever downloaded, very nice to look at and flies realistically (note to self, water take off doesn't work :) ). Do you know the flaps also go up?
@Tang0five thanks man, it was hard work but worth it. I was going to do the p & o sign writing but just the thought of the and symbol gave me a headache :)
@BogdanX I think I have fixed the issue, it was the bombs as you suggested, I also tweaked the wheels as they has started juddering (no idea why as they where fine when I first posted it).
I'm going to spend a bit more time with finishes, When I get a chance, with a few tweaks as well, glad you like it though, it was a pain to build as there doesnt appear to be a straight line in it...
Ah well, I still enjoy the game, it's a nice tool for building aircraft, if only it had another axis to play with so I could make twisted shapes like most aerodynamic bits are in real life.... :)
Ps vtol down for flaps, vol up for bomb bay doors, all landing gear is controlled by landing gear button and main wheels are steerable via yaw controls.
@Alien yes you can download them from the mods page on this website or via steam if that's what you use. Awesome aircraft in their own right, when I was a kid we went to a model aircraft show and a pair of harriers turned up to do a display, awesome noise.
@Alien no worries, I use fine tuner and overload mods, they allow for more flexibility that the base game. Bit jealous of your career :) I've seen lightnings fast taxi at Bruntingthorpe but never seen them flying (one of my favourite all time aircraft hence I've made them on here).
To limit control surface movement you need an add on that let's you edit the xml stuff in game, once you have that you can edit pretty much everything.
@MickeyKerman it would be a complete new build as the jet provost is a different aeroplane than the tutor that the snowbird fly, it's similar in shape but different for every element. I might give it a go at some point though.
thanks peeps, there are a few things i want to tweak and adjust so I may do a follow up version. Thanks again for the positive comments, much appreciated.
@Tang0five I cant believe you managed this on a tablet, the lettering alone must have taken ages.
@TheRussiansAreComing ah k, what size duct and I you need?
@ThePrototype I haven't decided yet, there are a couple of small single seat arado fighters I've been looking at but I'm not 100% sure I'm going to build them
@bigguns1234 it's not amphibious, I never said It was, It lands at a slow speed hence floating in to land which is a pretty common term for something that flies slow and is still controllable.
What's different from my original build then? Just the bombs?
+1@TheRussiansAreComing yeah if you are on a pc it's relatively straight forward. +1@jamesPLANESii nah it came out a bit big, was meant to have a span of about 70m but came out at 94. It happens.
@Rodrigo110 thanks man, the original design was to hold one 22000lbs bomb, but the bay looked empty hence 3 fitted :)
@ForeverPie probably the later, but is different so might just be cos it's unusual? Imagine if they had built these instead of the Lancaster...
@Homemadeforthepros phew, you had me worried there. Ty for posting the fix though.
@Homemadeforthepros strange, I have neither of those problems and have just tested it again. The landing gear does spread if u don't pull back to take off, is that what you mean? I hadnt touched the landing gear since the last version.
@Tang0five it is isn't it, I bet your iOS device will hate it though :( (my poor pc was sulking while I was building it.)
@Stellarlabs what's hurt?
@BACconcordepilot dunno bout random, but it's huge and unusual.
+2@Tang0five thanks man, that wing was no end of bother, still ended up a bit long and narrow but heho it works :) I liked the bit where the wheels are still visible when retracted like the real spitfire.
@TheGuyYouMightKnow seconded. If you also get the x-ray mod it will help you find lost bits and can make hidden placement better. Very impressed with your builds so far, mine where still boxes at your level.
+1German secret projects are awesome, very nice looking build.
@EXPRIT which ones?? :) oops.
@FlyingThings if that's the 4 engine one I'm looking at it :)
@Tang0five here you go, these might help your awesome builds =)
Hmm. Strangely over done :)
@Tang0five don't know mate, it's big enough :p. Aluminium overcast.
@Liquidfox thanks for the comments, it looks like the RAF one is the clear winner (double the downloads on day one so far)
@F104Deathtrap thanks for the comment, glad you liked it.
@TheOwlAce yep. No argument there. But its fun though :) the actual elevators are hidden in the rear fusrlage if u wsnt to reduce the size or throw of the control surfaces.
@TheRussiansAreComing lol I know, bit of a fluke that I'm afraid but does make landing easy :)
@Tang0five yeah they are not simple, i struggle as well because real aircraft have a twist to the hull where it changes angle along the length, this is impossible on simple planes so I just make it work and hope it looks similar. @Morozdalisa sea dart done

@Morozdalisa yeah I might, might do a seamaster as well if your lucky :)
+1@DrNic imagine the real fuel consumption of 24 conways at full chat.. gulp.
+1I've built one of those as well. Mby post all 3 of your available photos next time, helps with the interest.
Woot cheers people. It really does fly well, when I was building it I had much larger control surface wings, on my first flight it was mental, it was more manoverable than a xtra or equivalent stunt aircraft :) A 'what if' version in naval camo and extra armament may follow if I get time.
@Tang0five ah k, I use overload mod. It give you two options on hinges -1 and 1 being up and down, change the right one to 0 and your sorted.
+2@BaconRoll it didn't get featured :p
The original f16 xl had the front wheel and door...
@BogdanX I think I have fixed the issue, it was the bombs as you suggested, I also tweaked the wheels as they has started juddering (no idea why as they where fine when I first posted it).

@Tang0five thanks man, I try :)
