    Very useful, simple suggestion:
    - A part limit for the sum of all planes currently in the game, making it so weak pc’s do not have to entirely exclude high part planes when there’s no one else playing.
    - This could be enabled by default as well in the base game warning you exactly when to many ai planes are around.

  • Cutting engine exhaust flame immediately 2.4 years ago

Hey I know this is old, but I found a solution. It’s only cost is reduced exhaust. You make the engine power high and it’s max throttle input low making it function like normal, but with only like 10% rev up time needed depending on how much you change it’s max throttle value.

This is very cool. I've been searching for something like this, but where the enemy is not locked on to (preventing enemies from shooting back or using flares) for a stealth bomber (WITHOUT MODS just xml modding). Like a laser guided bomb instead of lock on. I have 0 clue how you disabled the smoke trail and learned about the input for the wings that fold out. 10/10, deserves more upvotes.
p.s. change your profile pic! It's so uncomfortable

Heyyyyy this is awfully reminiscent of that Dune movie. You finessed the design. How did you come up with this? It's so creative. You could totally use low part version of this to magnetically attach to the wings of a large plane. I recently thought of using something like this (https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/ri8n55/Aron-M-50) that drops from a big plane (think glider boat), with a useful car as cargo (for land) and a 'guardian' plane that can detach whenever (for quick scouting/light defense). That's some next level stuff in your head lol. I assumed the plane would only propel forward using the props and be part of a larger plane that gets it in the air. The whole VTOL aspect of this design is pretty unrealistic, hence it would make a good subsidiary of a larger vehicle. idk why I wrote all this but I admire the design.
    .
Edit: this design is so good I believe it’s creator deserves some recognition. Tom Alfaro.

    Feedback:
    - When it resists wind while hovering, the plane doesn’t correct with respect to the ground. The real one uses its position relative to the ground.
    - I am able to flip the plane upside down during slow mode takeoff. Real one has limiter. Though this might be purposeful for fun stuff.
    - I can switch to normal mode instantly from hover. Real one requires you to be in slow mode first and have enough stability to switch from hover to regular. Again might be for fun stuff. I love fun stuff.
    - Transition from slow to normal mode is a little wobbly sometimes.
-Only thing missing is ability to see through the plane in cockpit. Also please include diapers in cockpit. Again, incredible build. I enjoy it so much since I attempted to make these flight modes on my own F-35.

@Ku I lack math skills lol. That’s why high speed maneuverability is non-existent on my missile. A version 2 concept I wanted to make (but just takes too much time so I won’t) is launching the glide missile to inputted coordinates (some presets for each island) and orbit there. Then you can steer it once it’s in orbit (to the ice base launchers for example). I opted out of the “selected target” tracking like yours has because math is hard, but also because I REALLY wanted fire and forget to hit the 2 ice base launchers in 1 attack run. Fun. Your build solves the issue mine attempted, but failed to solve. Track and hit targets in between mountains that you don’t have line of sight with. Unfortunately Simple Planes missiles can not lock unless you have line of sight from the main cockpit. So, I shifted my strategy towards long range, remote control kills.

    Hi Guy folk.
    - Please see this plane to help with controls in hover mode (click me). In hover, it uses pitch to control altitude and trim to set the speed forward or reverse, like a "cruise control" setter. It also has roll thrusters to prevent sideways drifting when hovering.
    - I don't know how you will achieve the proper turn rate of 25 degrees/second in conventional flight mode. That's a 14.4 second loop!
    - Finally, if you are struggling with part count, please refer to the one MrZa built in 182 parts (click me). I hope you succeed!
P.S. I saw that slow mode flying, but if you need help with that, maybe check out (this post)

@Darg12e using a piston to push the main cockpit behind the plane so stealth can be turned on and off messes up the game physics :/ Another way is to detach 1/2 or more parts than are connected to the main cockpit to “damage your aircraft” so ai don't recognize your presence, but that's not very authentic. To fix piston method, I think "diffuseInertiaTensors" needs to be off for the piston

  • SOLVED High AoA reverses roll input…how??? 1.4 years ago

I’m so confused. My current theory is that the rear wings force the plane to yaw. This yawing of the plane causes more air to hit the vertical stabilizers, which roll the plane.
    .
Edit: I tried yawing against the yaw created by rolling and it seems to work. Yawing behaved more like typical roll inputs during high AoA which is neat :P
    .
Edit: It's because of SNAP ROLL, "a dynamic roll caused by 1 wing being completely stalled and the other wing being completely un-stalled and driving the roll round."

It looks like an easy build and I can’t find a good one on the site with decent part count. To make it truly recon/stealth, you can use the detacher method. Detach 1/2 or more parts than are connected to the main cockpit to “damage your aircraft” so ai do not recognize your presence.

@jamesPLANESii Did you further investigate about wing sweep and lift? I'm trying to see how to make the F-35B handle better at low airspeeds and I read, vortex lift contributes a lot to its high AoA capabilities. I'm not sure which wing construction method to use...I'm actually simulating it's slow flight mode too and wing lift is so weird UGH! I’m referencing a comment made by xiaofootball on your post about wings. Even considering wing construction like this plane’s rear stabilizers where the wing’s hingeDistance is 0 on 2 planes put together as one. Do smaller wings have slower stall speeds?
