Are you supposed to be able to gain altitude without the pre-rotor? You say "forward momentum, which is transferred to the rotor's RPM, which is used to maintain altitude," but I can't seem to maintain or gain altitude unless I use it like a helicopter with pre-rotor to get the RPM's up, then dispel that pre-rotor energy by increasing collective.
I know it's an old post, but this is the best plane in the game imo. Covers all of the game's major aspects, low part count, and good looking. Can't find a better build.
@BaconEggs The ship always seemed to large. I built a meassuring device that might help. Maybe attach it to a helicopter. There's also this flat version
Feedback 4: During slow mode takeoffs, I just noticed when the irl plane takes off a carrier, it’s sensors actually know when the plane is about to fall off the carrier and deflects the rear wings ahead of time to avoid that dip in altitude. The one you made (assuming it’s rate based) does not. One way to implement this is by also checking the cockpit’s altitude which is at the nose of the airplane in order to deflect the rear wings before falling off the carrier.
My comment under this post:
These weapons lock even when target is obstructed, something regular missiles can’t do. What method is used to steer the bombs? Edit: The missile method. You attached a bomb having the same name as the missile to the plane (with activation group -1), thereby letting you fire the missile even if target is obstructed. It is also necessary that the bomb be closer to the center of the plane than the missile so that the bomb “fires first” even though it doesn’t release. The missiles will launch one after the other as long as the all missile’s activation group is: -FireWeapons
Awesome! Wish I knew about that sooner.
Feedback 3: In real life, it has to dump fuel in order to achieve hover weight (around 30% fuel remaining I think), forcing it to refuel on the ground or in the air after VTOL operation.
- Cockpit has auto eject system when it spins out of control.
Just finished. Also just found this post click me… :/ For the highest rated of all time go to that link. Now at least you have cool planes to check out with lower upvote counts.
You alpha limited it to 15? When building it, how uncontrollable was it at 30 and 50 WITH YOUR fly by wire? Real world alpha limits make my F-35B uncontrollable and is why I stopped working on it. My last post 7 months ago is actually asking for help solving this lol
If you watch a flight demo on YouTube I counted a 14.4 second sideways loop. Has anyone been able to do this?
Edit: Strip plane of weapons, go 1000 mph at 1000 feet above sea level. Trim all the way down, turn off G and AoA limiter, and pitch hard the whole way. I got around a 14 sec horizontal loop.
Feedback:
- When it resists wind while hovering, the plane doesn’t correct with respect to the ground. The real one uses its position relative to the ground.
- I am able to flip the plane upside down during slow mode takeoff. Real one has limiter. Though this might be purposeful for fun stuff.
- I can switch to normal mode instantly from hover. Real one requires you to be in slow mode first and have enough stability to switch from hover to regular. Again might be for fun stuff. I love fun stuff.
- Transition from slow to normal mode is a little wobbly sometimes.
-Only thing missing is ability to see through the plane in cockpit. Also please include diapers in cockpit. Again, incredible build. I enjoy it so much since I attempted to make these flight modes on my own F-35.
Might help if you use rate(user input) = 0 or maybe < 0.05. Then you can not use battery when the control surface is still because that’s how pistons consume power right? Move liquid, then stop.
@Ku I lack math skills lol. That’s why high speed maneuverability is non-existent on my missile. A version 2 concept I wanted to make (but just takes too much time so I won’t) is launching the glide missile to inputted coordinates (some presets for each island) and orbit there. Then you can steer it once it’s in orbit (to the ice base launchers for example). I opted out of the “selected target” tracking like yours has because math is hard, but also because I REALLY wanted fire and forget to hit the 2 ice base launchers in 1 attack run. Fun. Your build solves the issue mine attempted, but failed to solve. Track and hit targets in between mountains that you don’t have line of sight with. Unfortunately Simple Planes missiles can not lock unless you have line of sight from the main cockpit. So, I shifted my strategy towards long range, remote control kills.
The coolness factor is through the roof oh my ghosh. Whats it’s max turn rate? I hope that is realistic. If you watch a flight demo on YouTube I counted a 14.4 second sideways loop. So a turn rate of 25 degrees/second in conventional flight mode.

Have you ever considered multiplayer in the plane building editor?
+7Let me fly with my friend as copilot on secondary pilot seat! Let him be my door gunner! Even if it’s just local multiplayer that would be awesome!
+1Make a FedEx color variant. I want to fly along side cargo planes without making them uneasy.
Aaaaaaawesoooooome
You have some really creative builds
@Bozorgi 0 / Upvote = 0
I hope you're putting this on the F-35 XD
+2@ReinMcDeer Yeah it's the best airport plugin mod I've seen in this game.

good build kendog
+1@MrCOPTY This didn't work for me :/

@Zenithic Better not leak classified stuff like that kid in the war thunder forum a few months ago 😂😂
+2edit: happened again 💀
What mod gives you that city in the background?
@keechmyth You can set the missile property: maxSpeed equal to INF to get rid of smoke. But it will accelerate to infinite speed

Changed title from “Highest Rated Airplanes of All Time”
+1Add an extra 0 to the very end of the link, “highest rated planes of the year,” after the number 365.
@DogeTheExperimentalist Thanks
Just finished. Also just found this post click me… :/ For the highest rated of all time go to that link. Now at least you have cool planes to check out with lower upvote counts.
@Kendog84 Oh that’s an even cooler idea! Nah no ideas from me. Like you, I want these things in game.

10/10 incredible work. I am so happy right now.
+1This is actually really fun and unique

I can’t wait post it already! lol
+3@32 If the engine gets damaged you can still have fuel left. You should check if engine thrust = 0 and if throttle > 0
@Kendog84 Did you ever build that refuel truck you were talking about?
You added viffing no way ha ha also thanks for putting the refuel boom on for us
That was an incredible video! Cinematography is like a movie! Music so fitting! Editing was good. In a word, TASTEFUL.
+3Hey can someone share a post of a plane that was built using this mod?
Hmm…ok. You’re good. You might be as good as @MrZa. He made an awesome F-35B in 182 parts.
You didn’t have to give me credit, but you did. What a chad. Thanks. And the build is a testament to your immense patience lol
+1@Yourlocalhuman For real. Jundroo should pay Kendog for this build lol
@IDNSatyaSlebew You can spawn in the ocean. Look around in the pause menu and you’ll find out how
Creepy vibes

+1Cool missile dude!
+1You like custom weapons. Might like my old post
+2For those wondering, this car’s engine slows the car to a stop when there’s no pitch input. The build it’s based on has a good description

How the progress? Hope you’re not stuck on something!
+2Saucy.
