Well this is an interesting experiment, I've seen weapons used as propulsion before with Missiles used for planes, but never have I thought about using a torpedo for marine propulsion!
@Keopongpisith Awesome! :D Good moment to click the Submarine tag, there's a lotta cool builds to check out now that you can fully appreciate seeing them in their natural environment.
@Keopongpisith Yea, though that'll mainly be needed to download mods such as the 1.8 patched version of Underwater camera posted on google drive and linked on its mod page. Normally you simply go to the mod page, click the download button specific to your device, open it up and it will boot up the game with you on the mods section. There you'll be able to enable the mod.
@Tang0five Thanks! Well now you have! As I often do I credit willy1111 and his fantastic AIP Submarine for inspiring my methods. Alongside Toscio56 and the engine he developed for giving me something I could work with. Willy's engine is great, but I found Toscio's engine MUCH easier to install and most importantly modify.
@kerbober This mod! But if you can't get it it's not technically needed for this sub. It'll still dive as deep as you please, and runs on the surface quite well!
@JamesBoA It was an epic undertaking for someone like me used to building submarines whose structure is centered around a cylinder XD Glad you like it!
The method to make an armored vehicles work well is not to lower the engine horsepower, it's actually to xml mod the wheels to limit their speed, or 'maximumAngularVelocity' in xml terms. Doing that allows you to benefit from the higher torque of greater engine power while limiting the speed. The torque will make the vehicle more effective at scaling steep inclines.
I could modify some wheels to your needs if you'd like. :) Give you a link to an unlisted upload.
You got it right, only missed the Capital L. ^^ Cool build! I like the missiles, small nimble and powerful, though the roll rate on them can make them spin like a centrifuge.
@Simpleplaner656 Yea XD The fuel is carried on the sub, and usually powers the ballast system via VTOL engine. Any engine you spawn with the craft will be fully functional and draw from a fuel source connected to the cockpit in some way. Regardless whether that engine is attached to the craft, which makes this idea possible!
Funny way you discovered that, I shouldn't be surprised somebody would try that!
@Theron That is true! I am aware of those. I believe submarines like the Japanese I-400 likely influenced designs such as the Halibut and Greyback given the functional similarities to how they worked. Just my personal speculation though.
Dang your submarines are great! Those tesla torpedoes are no joke, one shot of two taking out destroyers instantly! The engines do seem to shake around a bit, though it doesn't hinder the functionality or lead to any unwanted explosions.
I was NOT expecting this thing to get the 12 upvotes it did, let alone the 19 it has now! (as of posting this comment). Thanks for the pleasant surprise everyone!
A very fast, nimble, and fun little submarine that looks like something you might see out of a sixties James Bond film. I'm also pleased to see it's a free-diver! (my personal term for submarines which dive without using the typical piston method, like the subs I make)
Fun fact! My original concept for this was not to have the bulletScale illuminate targets, instead the idea was to have it utilize the 'enemy aircraft damaged' notification to track targets. In practice that didn't work, so I went on to use the illumination method.
@GeneralOliverVonBismarck Actually, it could still be handy for highlighting submarines if you put it on a ship below the water line. In theory anyway, against piston subs.
@VeryUnprofession I actually have a solution for that problem, download my Vertical Launch System for Submarines, it keeps your weapons safe! Though specialized for missiles it can work for torps as well!
@TheXDimension32 Great!
@TheXDimension32 No problem! Hope it works, if so you are not the only person who had that issue.
@TheXDimension32 If you have the Upload with Screenshots Mod enabled you should disable it. It's been a major culprit in crashing with this mod.
@small1324 Wait making it fly?? I would love to see you manage that, just for how crazy it is given the sheer size and weight. Best of luck with that!
Seems you've been trying to refine this thing, well good job! It's really nice looking and feature rich for such a low part bird.
@MaxB17 Yep!

@Keopongpisith If you're referring to the Underwater Camera mod, it's within a custom type of file known as 'SPMOD'.
It's....!
@Tang0five Oh I have! I own a copy!
@Tang0five I haven't gotten the chance to watch it yet, but it's definitely something I wanna see!
@Tang0five Thank you!

@Gameboi14 @Carbonfox1 Now you know what it looks like!
@Carbonfox1 Thanks again!
@Carbonfox1 Thank you! I'd have considered that tiger, but as you can see the part count was already getting high for something this large.
@Aeromen Perfect Centerpiece for Chairman Cheng's propaganda.
@JamesBoA It was an epic undertaking for someone like me used to building submarines whose structure is centered around a cylinder XD Glad you like it!
@Carbonfox1 Hmmm, not a bad idea! I'll consider it!
@Carbonfox1 Yea it kinda does, not the greatest choice of pic xP.

@Toxicareonuatics Here
@Toxicareonuatics Underwater Camera mod lets the camera go underwater.
Awesome! Enjoy your summer!
@JDog3106 Yea it does, and no problem!
You got it right, only missed the Capital L. ^^ Cool build! I like the missiles, small nimble and powerful, though the roll rate on them can make them spin like a centrifuge.
@JDog3106 Awesome!
@Kimcotupan15 You use the Designer Suite mod?
Beautiful recreation of a Beautiful fictional plane.
@SakuraSaku Thank you!

Having problems using missiles with submarines? Give this a try if you haven't already.

@GeneralOliverVonBismarck Show meeeee
@GeneralOliverVonBismarck ok take that back, it CAN decently handle around 1700 parts, but definitely not 3K!
You lucky bastard! I have a laptop and it has issues running 1k! Yea it should definitely be an option if some mobile devices can run THAT!
@GeneralOliverVonBismarck Smacks self Of course!

@XxDannehxX Gotcha, I'll add the disclaimer, thanks again!
@GeneralOliverVonBismarck Actually, it could still be handy for highlighting submarines if you put it on a ship below the water line. In theory anyway, against piston subs.
@XxDannehxX So it doesn't work well on those settings? If so I'll add a note to the description, thank you!
@VeryUnprofession I actually have a solution for that problem, download my Vertical Launch System for Submarines, it keeps your weapons safe! Though specialized for missiles it can work for torps as well!
@VeryUnprofession Better get it before other peeps find out then :)
