Really nice build. Ticks all the boxes for a sim while still being usable in VR, I could get to all the controls easily. Apart from the plane itself, I am impressed with the strict, clean organization of your build file and use of Funky Trees. Its tight and efficient so presumably easy to tweak and adjust.

Original too heavy, Removed the 1000 lb loading on most of the parts. Separated flight surfaces to pitch (Tail) and Roll(Primary Wings) having both on both wont work. Also doubled the engine power.
    Fixed it 4u

Cool. I was watching a youtube on that type of configuration, with the vertical stabilizer on the wingtips apparently it produces a more efficient airplane.

Sweet build! Love the fusion of modern HUD and retro number dials. Pop up rear gun, little flames from the engine exhaust. So much to like here.

  • Will Simpleplanes ever be revamped? one year ago

I don't know what priority SP has in Jundroo's range of products. If it were top of the list I think you would see more rapid development. I've played the others and they really have excellent features and arguably a superior physics engine. (or maybe that's my imagination). I get the feeling Jundroo would prefer us to use those games. But there something about Simpleplanes that keeps pulling me back to it that the others dont. The interface perhaps. IDK.

  • Is 12GB Of RAM Good? one year ago

@PlaneFlightX is correct. But if budget is a consideration a general rule if you can, its best to match the ram in both slots (Not always possible as sometimes Ram is on the motherboard. I'd replace the 2 with a 4 so you have. 4 +4. I'd say that would perform better than the 4 + 8. Personally, 16GB is the minimum I'll run.

Depends on the system, but generally yes. When you setup your headset it asks you to define the limits of the area you want to use. (So you don't walk into walls). It can be as small as just the area around your seat but can also be room size.

  • Red Five 3.Z 1.9 years ago

Nice. You could even have the X wings open when SelectedWeapon!="" but that's going into personal preferences. Some ppl like to actually flip a switch. Without revealing how into Star Warz I was as a kid, I remember "lock s foils in attack position" and thinking they meant X foils caus its an x wing fighter right? Apparently not.

I can record a normal SP game without the headset without cropping, But I wanted to do it all in VR and steamVR's game window is only a mirror of one of the eye displays. There is special software for VR recording but can't be bothered.
