    Isn't this basically Russia's own "F-19"?

    No problem this is really cool!

  • Nordan NA-3 Lark 7.5 years ago

    @MrDoolittle
    It is on the slow side a bit. Probably because of the fixed gear, bomb racks (you can remove them for A2A combat btw...) and because of the fuselage panels on the wings, those always create a bit of drag. And thanks for the compliment! For my first fighter cockpit this came out really good. The cockpit realistically is designed with comfort in mind. The control stick is designed for the pilot to simply rest their hand on the control stick; same with the throttles, so it's much easier to control the aircraft in high-G turns. The reclined seat also helps with that. It's pretty much the same idea that went into the F-16's cockpit. The seat is also reclined so the pilot can sit in a smaller, more streamlined cockpit, to keep the twin-engined plane as small and streamlined as possible. I guess you could say this was inspired by the reclined seats in gliders but the canopy ended up more like a framed-bubble canopy than a streamlined canopy.

    Interesting concept!

  • Nordan NA-3 Lark 7.5 years ago

    @JackTheBestBoss
    Glad you loved it, and yes indeed a retractable gear variant will be available in the future. The original concept of this (you can see in the Lark Timeline in the description) had retractable landing gear but I decided to go with the Nordan tradition of having fixed gear with streamlined gear leggings/pants/spats. But yes I will make on with retractable gear soon.

    They were originally smaller but I enlarged them since the original elevator wasn't very effective at pulling tight turns, and it was sluggish at slow speeds. The new elevator was enlarged to increase it's effectiveness and when that didn't fully solve the issue, I slapped it on a rotator and made it a stabilater, using both elevators, the whole stabilizer moving, and I made the flaps contribute to pitching the aircraft as well. It does look pretty big but it's to help with turns .

    I thought so. The cockpit, with all the instruments, radios, switches, etc. looks just like the FSX default Skyhawk.

    Yea it's quite the tough cookie, and a very stable design as well.

  • Nordan NA-3 Lark 7.5 years ago

    @DeezDucks
    I can't get the casings to eject directly downward like a P-51 so I could only have them shoot out horizontally instead of vertically. I mean it looks realistic in a positive G turn but straight and level it does look a bit strange.

  • Nordan NA-3 Lark 7.5 years ago

    @Treadmill103
    Oh I know them as Wheel pants. Didn't know they were also called spats. The original concept had retractable gear but I wanted to keep it simple so I went with wheel pants, or spats instead. Their lighter than retractable but they do cause a bit more drag.

  • Silent Works Sneak Peak! 7.5 years ago

    @BroAeronautics
    Pretty good. The basic aircraft of the P8 is done, I just need to add minor details and systems. It's between the size of a P-61 and a F7F. I put the P8 on hold to work on the NA-3 Lark I just uploaded today and I have one other Nordan design I'm going to work on, and then I'll resume the night fighter builds (Building two night fighters, the PAC P8 and a Nordan design).

  • TOP SEKRET 7.5 years ago

    @Tully2001
    Removed it. The glitch-effect and the Top Secret sign obviously were from the gif editor but the blue flashes you see was from a device I created. Because of the secrecy I was trying to find one of those red classic "Top Secret" labels but all the editor had was a smiley holding a top secret sign.... ¯_(ツ)_/¯

  • Texas Cube 7.5 years ago

    @Texasfam04
    Yea I heard of Secureteam. I'm not that big into the UFO conspiracy channels because a lot of their videos are pretty phony, especially thirdphaseofmoon's videos. I believe in UFO's, but my opinion on them is quiet strange to say the least. That UFO/drone that the F/A-18 pilot chased/observed in 2004 is pretty intriguing to say the least, because it is actually an official video, especially after the declassification of the Pentagon's secret Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Program.

  • TYPE-43A Unrequited Maiden. 7.5 years ago

    Very cool. I really like the heavy cannon and missile pod. It looks like a super fighter you'd see out of Ace Combat 3. (blue paint scheme, highly aerodynamic design, purple-colored afterburner, ect.) Nice job!

    Yea I just realized that. That would be cool though. However I was able to relocate them all to Wright Island.

  • Brutus 7.5 years ago

    @SledDriver
    Wow thanks! I was orginally just gonna swap out the ships with USS Tiny and WW2 Destroyer ships but that will do! (Or I can just edit the ships in that code to make a massive WW2 battle fleet; my fictional company's timeline is currently set at WW2).

  • Need Your Opinion on Gun/Bullet Casing-Ejection Simulation in SP 7.5 years ago

    @WEAPONSMITH
    Yea lol. But I set the guns firing the casings to have noCollisions "true" (meaning they can phase through other objects of the build) so the casings don't damage the aircraft. When you set a gun with noCollisions set to "true" (need Overload) the guns don't damage your aircraft.

  • Brutus 7.5 years ago

    @SledDriver
    Thanks, I can see the ships spawn section in the cloudsettings.xml file.

  • Brutus 7.5 years ago

    @SledDriver
    Never mind found the cloudsettings.xml file, thanks!

  • Brutus 7.5 years ago

    @SledDriver
    Yea it could very well repel one as well.

    I assume I access CloudSettings.xml in the game's files? (I'm on PC)

  • Brutus 7.5 years ago

    This thing could lead an alien invasion lol.

    Very awesome build, but how did you get the massive carrier fleet in your video?

  • Need Your Opinion on Gun/Bullet Casing-Ejection Simulation in SP 7.5 years ago

    @Bo123
    I use the machine guns and resize them/adjust them/change their xml properties via overload so they appear to be ejecting casings from the machine guns.

    lol I was trying to make it sound mysterious and spooky or unknown, Italics don't just mean something naughty or romantic, it can also be to emphasize something. Plus this is an airplane game/website why on earth would I say something "naughty"?

    More than anything that "I too have a nightmare brewing" comment was more directed at Texasfam04 in a competitive tone.

  • AX-1A Nightmare 7.5 years ago

    @Texasfam04
    lol just a simple misinterpretation that's all. 😂

    Ok I'll look forward to the idea. All the way until Wednesday I'm gonna be packed with semester final tests so I can't work on anything.

  • AX-1A Nightmare 7.5 years ago

    @MI
    😂😂😂
    What I meant by "I too have a nightmare brewing in my hangar..." is that I have a new fighter that will be uploaded sometime today, and it's a twin-engine, single seat, light weight fighter that has the fire-power of a heavy fighter but the maneuverability of a light-weight dog fighter, making it a monster that is kept in my aircraft hangar at the moment until I upload it.

    Look I know the analogy you were making with production lines and, well, you know, the biological kind of production lines, but what I meant with that comment was really an aircraft hangar and a upcoming fighter.

  • AX-1A Nightmare 7.5 years ago

    @MI
    A production line where I create aircraft, not sperm or eggs. facepalm
    Uh this is getting awkward...

  • Need Your Opinion on Gun/Bullet Casing-Ejection Simulation in SP 7.5 years ago

    @EpicPigster1
    Thanks man that made the "casings" look a lot better!

  • Need Your Opinion on Gun/Bullet Casing-Ejection Simulation in SP 7.5 years ago

    @F4f879 @Stellarlabs
    You guessed it! Yes I use rear facing guns however I can get the "casings" (really just smaller bullets) to shoot/eject downward while remaining horizontal. They look most realistic when pulling a +g turn. Velocity on the guns is 10. I had it at 0 initially but at 0 the bullets were floating everywhere and didn't look much like ejecting, more like dispensing.

    Believe it or not the NA-3 Lark has a part count of 270, while remaining incredibly detailed. This should be pretty friendly for mobile users.
