@Dragoranos Hmm.... not quite what I was thinking with this challenge but technically if the wings can pivot in-game it should be all good. Sounds interesting!
Not to mention the fact that she actually still flies pretty dang well once you get the gear up. Nothing ridiculous or anything, but more than you would expect. Sure, takeoffs can be tricky (I mean, the original creator even posted an updated version to "fix" the flying), and using the flaps just forces you into a dive, but with a careful hand at the controls, she still flies just fine.
@JesusChrist It's the 7.1 years ago part. AKA September 2015, AKA four months before the game was even released on Steam.
In its day, this was quite literally the single best plane anyone had ever built. It had working landing gear, a working cockpit, working (single-shot) guns, and roundels, all long before the advent of hinge/small rotators, fuselage blocks, gauges, actual weapons, and FineTuner. This plane was legendary, and it was the best thing that those of us who were players at the time had ever seen.
Well, here's a video of the real aircraft (now y'all get to know what it is I suppose). It's a little trickier than it looks, since the struts are all at different angles.
Technically you can just rip the cockpit from any of the default planes (well, maybe not the Twin Prop) without much difficulty.

Actually yeah this would be pretty cool
I mean... maybe? There's not a whole lot of multi-role missiles out there to my knowledge though.
You don't need to install Overload separately since version 1.8 or 1.9. Plus, it's not really for beginner users. Some of the options do need to be in the regular menus, though.
What do you mean by "better graphics"?
I will agree, the AI system definitely needs an overhaul.
Being able to sort aircraft would be nice.
Again, kind of vague.
Sure, I guess? Something with a city would be nice.
Well, at the same time they don't want to have AI traffic literally everywhere. I think what they have now is a decent balance.
No.
Actually this could be pretty interesting.
Kinda-sorta-already happens with the existing challenges, just most people choose to use something they downloaded instead.
You'll need to ask the multiplayer mod team about that one.
Eh...
Yes please.
A prefab electronic display would be cool but I'm not sure how it would be set up. I could see this being possible though.
Also kind of already exists with the challenges/races. The current state of the AI probably prevents anything more in-depth.
If it's bouncing when/after spawning, try increasing the damper of the suspension (if applicable). If it's bouncing around during the catapult launch, decrease the acceleration rate (you can do this by adding a catapult connector and editing its settings).
I don't think the in-game autopilot uses a variable, so I don't think it can be activated by a switch or button. However, you could essentially get the same level of functionality as the base game autopilot with a properly configured gyroscope.
@JustWingIt Haven't decided yet, but probably no more than 3-5.
+1@JustWingIt Well, maybe a little. I might dock a few points from the Build Quality section if it's based on someone else's build.
+1@JustWingIt Yeah, that would work as long as you make sufficient changes to it.
+1Continuing my streak of not following anyone because of how frequently I check the site anyway
+1@ZeroWithSlashedO That would be a folding wing, not a swing wing. Not the same thing.
+1@Souplane Technically yes, as long as it moves.
+1@speed72s Ask a moderator to make it a successor.

+1All I will say is that the fastest plane on the site will not still be controllable. It is too fast.
@Brayden1981 Challenge is open until December 1, judging will be sometime after that.

@DeezDucks Oh, right. Whoops.

Definitely tag me when you post it (whenever that ends up to be). That's awesome!
+1Time to abandon ship!
+1@DeezDucks @Vincent I know one of y'all knows how to make things successors
@DaKraken XML is perfectly ok.
Sorry, minimum for the challenge is 200 parts.

+9@Roger747 Either publish it as a successor or ask (tag) a moderator to make it a successor to this challenge.
This is excellent!
+1I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually. I've been working on other stuff for the last week or so though, so no real progress yet.

But seriously though this looks stunning.

I like the looks of that torpedo bomber! Even if you decide not to finish it, I hope you post it!
+2I use either Discord or Steam (but you need to edit the URL you get from Steam a bit, so it's a little trickier).

@210100 Pretty sure you can still get an adblocker for a phone but okay.
I mean... you could just use an adblocker. Or sign in (I'm pretty sure you don't get ads if you're signed in, but I might be wrong on that).
When the adbot can't even do its job right
@ColonelCanada Depends on the device. The iPad I used to play on started seriously lagging at about 350 parts.
Do you want your Android device to rapidly become an unintentionally improvised explosive device?
+3Awesome!
+1Also sometimes the lettering they want to make isn't possible with the default label fonts.
+1Adjust the center of mass or center of lift. Try moving them closer together or farther apart and see what happens.
This is a neat style. I like it!
EDIT: What you see is not what you get. I'm rather disappointed actually.
