I actually learned this just the other day about the UH-60 (and derivatives). In order for it to fit inside a C-130 for transport (one of the original design specifications), the nose had to be shorter. Combined with the fuel tanks being entirely behind the main cabin, the center of gravity range was entirely aft of the main rotor, meaning that the tail rotor needed to be canted in order to trim this out and rebalance the aircraft.
why was the gear so slow
why did the gear CATCH FIRE FOR NO REASON
where did the nose gear go
what was that physics-defying bounce
why did the engines decide to fall off and then spectacularly detonate
what were the last two seconds of the video
what does the song have to do with it
there are so many questions and none of them are worth answering
If you ask me, this is where prioritizing quotas, DEI, and political correctness over actual skill, experience, and the ability to say no will get you. Aviation is the one field where skill and experience should be prioritized over all else, and in my opinion what we're seeing is what happens when these are placed in the back seat in favor of fitting whatever agenda is the current hot topic.
(It's really unfortunate for me actually because in a year or two I might be working there on an internship. I wish I could say I still looked forward to that like I did when I was a kid, but I can't anymore.)
@LOGANP117withmachinegun
A dc10 means the player needs to roll a 10 or higher to pass whatever check or save (stealth, insight, perception, etc.) they need to do in order to succeed.
D&D joke that didn't land (ironically) (wait now I'm meta-referencing, this is trippy)
I appreciate the work you and your sources put in to making this such a clear and well-proven case. This kind of thing should not be allowed, and I'm surprised it's gone somewhat under the moderators' radars unnoticed up until now.
It's all for attention, which is why they will never actually leave of their own free will. Either they get so thoroughly called out that they are forced to leave in shame and make a big sob story post trying to make everyone feel bad for exiling them or whatever, and then come back a day later with a new account, or they get banned.
(Too bad this post will probably get removed in a few hours, it's genuinely an important callout but it could pretty easily be seen as breaking the policies on targeting and whatnot. Will be interesting to see how the moderators handle this.)
Russia 1 and 2 seem like they would be the most universally effective due to the less bold colors, but Ukraine 2 and 3 are also extremely good-looking. Not so much a fan of Ukraine 1 or the Kazakhstan pattern; in my opinion that kind of bold and blobby camo only works with like Vietnam-era greens and browns.
The sheer psychic damage I receive from checking this website continues to increase at what is apparently now an exponential rate.
Guys it's a funny plane building game, y'all are taking this way too seriously. Go to Reddit or something to have your identity crises.
If you could have some sort of smooth engage/disengage clutch mechanism and a stupid amount of gear reductions, it would be possible to have a turboshaft Shay
Also I love the design and how you made it work (and genuinely look good while doing so) but running a set of traction motors off of a generator on a turbojet engine has to be one of the most inefficient ways possible to power a locomotive lol
"Bold and willful, they do not tremble as they blaspheme the glorious ones, whereas angels, though greater in might and power, do not pronounce a blasphemous judgment against them before the Lord. But these, like irrational animals, creatures of instinct, born to be caught and destroyed, blaspheming about matters of which they are ignorant, will also be destroyed in their destruction, suffering wrong as the wage for their wrongdoing." 2 Peter 2:10-13, ESV
sigh... you know what? I'm not even gonna say it anymore, I'm tired of having to repeat myself over and over again. Check my comment history for my answer, there should be several similar instances of it.
@spexplainedguy Depends on who you ask, honestly. I picked up Juno last year and I've been enjoying it quite a bit, but according to my Steam Year in Review I played SimplePlanes almost 250% more. Juno is fun but for me it's one of those games where I'll play it almost exclusively for a few weeks and then not play it for a few months (though another reason is I don't necessarily want my breaks from college engineering to be videogame engineering).
@spexplainedguy Honestly I'm not sure. A lot of the features that would be in SP2 (better wings, much more user-friendly interfaces, greatly expanded part customization, larger world, visual effects, etc.) are already in Juno, so I'm not sure what SP2 would bring to the table to differentiate it significantly enough to be its own product rather than a series of updates for Juno.
Started playing way back in 2015, only made an account in 2022 though.
Not a ton in terms of major changes, honestly. VR support was added and there's all sorts of cool cockpit stuff to go with that (several Funky Trees whizzes have made fully working one-part HUDs that are pretty much drop-in-and-go), but nothing revolutionary in terms of how parts go together and whatnot. The game has been officially deemed "finished" by Jundroo and development has been formally concluded (NOT "abandoned"), and they have moved on to focus on Juno: New Origins (ex-SimpleRockets 2) and whatever their next project is going to be.
You might be better off doing one based around rate of descent than dive angle since that would probably be easier to code (something along the lines of rate(Altitude) < [desired rate of descent, i.e. -1000] could probably work; I'm not sure specifically how the rate function acts but I'm pretty sure it's like that) so that it wouldn't activate if you just enter a brief dive or do a loop or something, but only if you're actually trying to dive-bomb.
It's not just a SP thing, actually. Honda is super picky about who gets to use their brand and trademarks (which include all of their products), and they don't like it when people do it without their permission. FlightGear ran into this back in 2014, and they ended up just removing the HondaJet entirely if I recall correctly.
Best to either stay away from modeling the brand entirely or to not specifically model a Honda product (not suggesting anything, but I think I've seen a few "JondaHet" builds before).
@32 is it later yet
Does anyone have a claim on the Wright Isles themselves yet?
Ooh, this'll be fun. Looks great!

edit: hey look I'm famous
@Terrora69 When I downloaded it and checked, both jet engines were connected to the central shaft at the rear of the fuselage.
Check the connections on your jet engine parts.
I'm sorry but https://xkcd.com/927/
+1Pretty sure it's a fictional design since it's one of EternalDarkness' M.Corp Panthers with a heavier turret installed.

@ThatKindaWeeb I think there's some sort of combined pitch/yaw control that keeps it from shifting unexpectedly, but I'm not sure on that.
