Sweet beans as Mr. RailfanEthan likes to say. I think in this context that is a good thing. I also got a hint of Clancy from the description too. Good stuff!
Many thanks! Im glad that the old girl holds together. Im pretty chuffed with the nozzles myself...@Tang0five
Cheers! This kite was a pita to build. This is actually take three of four. I struggled with the shapes and proportions. I think its still a wee bit off, but good enough is good enough, what? @ChiChiWerx
This isnt so hard to simulate, albeit loosely.
Connect two hinges (ideally with base mesh disabled) together, with the exhaust vane on top. Then set one to «open» on throttle, the other to «close». The one that closes on opening throttle should have more travel and travel faster, the other should have less travel andctravel slower.
You then get exhaust vanes that close on opening the throttle, only to slowly open up slightly again. Not ideal, but it looks cool.
Check my F-15 to see it in practise.
Indeed. As flown by the brave chaps of the RAAF in the Solomons, 1943 onward against the Japs. Which, btw, was my all time favourite campaign in IL-2 1946. @Tang0five
Many thanks! She was a little daunting to build, the part count started to get silly and she handles so much better than her real life counterpart, but hey, do you want realism or do you want fun? ;-) @ChiChiWerx
@Trainzo Many thanks. This was a bit of a bugger to get right (or at least as right as I could make it).
@Tang0five Cheers matey! My favourite bit is the cowl flaps. A bit esoteric, but there you are...
@Tang0five cheers! They were a royal pain in the posterior to do. You see, they would randomly connect to the surrounding parts, making the control surface immobile at best and one time, at worst, causing the whole kite to open up like a break barrel shot gun upon deploying flaps. Oh what a laugh that was...
Ok, Im struggling here. Can you try logging into MTBR.com (mountain bike website) and sending me a PM? I have the same username, only with a _ between the Ghost and the HTX... Sorry for the faffing around... @Alien
@Tang0five @Alien
Many thanks, gents.
Oh, Alien, I couldnt get the number you sent to work on FB. Only a bunch of weird posts showed up... I promise that I respected the spaces...
@Treadmill103 Thanks! It really is good fun to zip around in. A proper challenge to land, too. Try it up against my Sopwith Shadow for a really good scrap.
@Tang0five Much appreciated, old bean!
Good fun to fly. Well built, too.
Whats the eta on that result now? @Colonel1J2R3Wolf
Did this contest ever get judged?
Of course my dear fellow. Only the best where you’re concerned.
Oh, and could you kindly pop over to mtbr? I left you a message. @Alien

@carrot2110 Thanks! This was not easy. The Eagle is a bloody complex shape.
Well, I picked a bad week to build an F-15 it seems. This is awesome.
