@Robomo00119 An IFV (Infantry Fighting Vehicle) is a lightly armoured vehicle that is capable of delivering a squad (max 10) infantrymen to a combat area then further capable of supporting said squad with its on-board weapons systems.
I must say - Im very grateful for the plethora of upvotes, old boy. Nice to see someone who appreciates what I do. Sorry I dont always live up to "the rules", however…
@FeatherWing
Thanks! I played around with having a functional cockpit for the first time with this. It should work in VR, too!
Regarding your advice - you are totally correct. But I never can be arsed with all the "marketing" that comes with posting up a build.
I generally build for myself and dont really care if I get only a few upvotes. Its the folks who download that I really appreciate. The folks who care to drop me a line and let me know if its any good or not are even more appreciated (so many thanks for that!)
Ive started now playing around with making better thumbnails, though (see my 25 part mig 15).
@Tang0five Thanks ever so, old boy.
After a few years of job upheaval and general mind fuckery, my life is approaching something of a period of stability. This is good. It also means that I have time to do the things I enjoy - namely WoT Blitz and Simpleplanes. Glad that youre still here and that you remember me :-)
Can I enter it into the competition? It isnt a successor, but I really didnt want to start messing around with cockpits etc, since it is around 700 parts (many of them moving). Please?
Not meaning to be that guy, but if youre building for the upvotes youre doing it wrong. Build something you want to build. Build something that makes you happy either in the research, the building or in playing around with it afterwards. Building stuff only for the upvote is a fast track to shitsville.
Thanks matey! Its an iPhone 8 that is on its last legs (the battery is currently telling me I need service). So a big improvement over the iPhone6 I used to build on. Hoping to get something a bit sexier soon, though…@Tang0five
You got me. The Marauder was the first thing I thought of when I read "medium bomber". I would have loved to have done one, too. But replicas are way above my skill level. @Tang0five
@TWDDerSharkmarine Many thanks! I was trying to adhere to the Supermarine design aesthetic as much as possible and let's face it - Supermarine designed some of the best looking fighters of the prop age.
One small update. To make carrier landings easier, set the angle of the tail hook to 45°. Otherwise you need to land an almost perfect 3 pointer to catch the wire.
Cheers! I was really into IL-2 a few years back. Was working with dome guys to get the EE Lightning and the SEPECAT Jaguar into the game. Didnt come to anything, sadly… @Almostbutnotquite
@Tang0five Youre too kind. I have to say, though - these new parts are bloomin good fun to build with. Actual landing gear wells! Glass bits!! Cockpits that work! :-)
@Tang0five
Howdy. Yeah - its been a while. Hope youre well? Im still pottering around, but the tools here are starting to get a bit beyond my ability… Im just getting to grips with the glass!
@ALDOCHILLGAMING Hmm - it didnt do that when I built it several years and several versions ago. However, can I recommend gaining more altitude before raising the gear? The nose down thing stops when the gear is fully retracted.
Thanks for the full caps, though. Makes your post easier to read….
Fair point. Something is broken with this model, for some reason. It was built 4 and a bit years ago on an older version of SP - maybe thats the reason? @FireBirdDynamics
Very nice. Funny thing; the one Im working on for this challenge had its beginnings in a float plane. Mid engined, too. You aren’t the guy I see sometimes camping in the bushes outside my house... are you?
@FirstFish83828 10/13? I can dig it.
Did you check out the (half finished) interior? I was planning on making a gunner position, but my iphone started slowing down…

Think Marder, Warrior, or BMP.
Note - an IFV is not an APC or an MBT.
Fifth place and an honorable mention? I’ll take it :-)
+2Just saw this and would like to enter. Any chance of getting an extension?
Meh. Upvotes are overrated. I prefer uplifting comments.
@ThomasRoderick
Im affraid I broke 4, 7, and 8… only a little, though…
@ThomasRoderick

+1Must we build a replica? Or will you accept an original design, provided it follows the 1900-1960 design aesthetic / technical limitations?

@Vincent
Hello old chap. Is there any chance you could arrange it so that this is a successor to this?

Sorry if its a hassle…
+1@HuskyDynamics01
Youre a good man/woman/camera/internet person :-)
+3Many thanks @Bryan5
+1Many thanks @JettStorm
Hi! I have a model that I started building about a year ago - just uploaded it now -

Can I enter it into the competition? It isnt a successor, but I really didnt want to start messing around with cockpits etc, since it is around 700 parts (many of them moving). Please?
Exactly! @MrBeast2000
Good man. Looking forward to it! @Alien
Bloody nora! There’s a blast from the past! How the devil are you old bean? @Alien
Me, If I remember correctly? @ChamDel7
A nice wee challenge, this. Im in.
Cromwell. The correct answer is always Cromwell. Unless its Comet. Or Centurion. Or Conqueror.
I must admit that I had to google that. It looks like Iron Man built a 1930s floatplane racer. This is a good thing. @MemrWii
Nani?!?!?!

Hmmm - I might have something for this challenge, then… @MemrWii
Quick question - what is your stance on flying boats? (Asking for a friend ;-) )
Holy crap - this is some low part count loveliness.
+1Yeah - I looked to the b-25, b-26 and the Mistubishi G4M as inspiration. @BittyJupiter360
Thanks matey! Its an iPhone 8 that is on its last legs (the battery is currently telling me I need service). So a big improvement over the iPhone6 I used to build on. Hoping to get something a bit sexier soon, though…@Tang0five

+2Thanks! @Walvis
Sure! Its an infinite rotator with fuselage parts. @Bobyo
Dont worry! I remembered ;-) @BeastHunter
+1This isnt bad, though - you just need to finish it?
+1@TWDDerSharkmarine Many thanks! I was trying to adhere to the Supermarine design aesthetic as much as possible and let's face it - Supermarine designed some of the best looking fighters of the prop age.

@RAF1 No problem at all - this was fun!
Cheers! I was really into IL-2 a few years back. Was working with dome guys to get the EE Lightning and the SEPECAT Jaguar into the game. Didnt come to anything, sadly… @Almostbutnotquite

Very nice. Pig ugly, but very nice.

+1No - This bird really has issues. The nose gear seems to fall off and she spins very easily. Not your fault, mate. @FireBirdDynamics
Fair point. Something is broken with this model, for some reason. It was built 4 and a bit years ago on an older version of SP - maybe thats the reason? @FireBirdDynamics
Appreciate that, komrade! @SonicManiaOVA
+1I KNEW it!!! ;—) @RamboJutter
Very nice. Funny thing; the one Im working on for this challenge had its beginnings in a float plane. Mid engined, too. You aren’t the guy I see sometimes camping in the bushes outside my house... are you?
Hehe. Im now in a different job (Im in the explosives industry now ;-) ) so yes, I have time and a couple of new toys in the works. @Tang0five
very cool, my dear fellow!
+1Wonderful! Also curved roundels. That is a world of pain right there. Good job!
Very nice. Reminds me of the BAe Warrior I built for the ground attack challenge you had a while back. Very cool design!
+1
