@Chancey21 We get these "BYEBYE" posts every day. Every. Single. Day. And they are almost always the kind of thing that could be pasted at the top of somebody's bio. This isn't some urgent event that needs to be noticed by everyone TODAY and quickly forgotten.

  • What is the most effective way to improve maneuvering ? 4.6 years ago

    @Greggory005

so like add weight To the wings ?

No. Wing loading is the size of the wing compared to the weight of the plane. Bigger wings and lighter planes can turn tighter than heavier planes with smaller wings.

There are many other factors that determine maneuverability: speed, the amount of thrust, center of thrust, thrust vectoring (actually rotating the engine exhaust), center of lift, center of mass, the size and maximum deflection of control surfaces, the location and number of control surfaces and what kind of controls they are, and many more.

    You should delete this.

Some people on here spend months building things. You spent one hour repainting someone else's work. Take a wild guess how much anyone cares a out your lost hour.

Also, most places ban users who whine about the mods.

@WarshipDude Sorry, I was on a roll. Of the 5 or so teasers that were up this morning, only you and one other person had done them properly. I'm trying to show newer players how to effectively advertise their creations and yours is a great example of how to do it right.

  • Scout Kea (V1.1 UPDATE) 4.6 years ago

It's surprising to me why a plane like this hasn't been made earlier. I guess there's the Aircam and the Double Endwr project, but there isn't really anything that takes advantage of the prop wash, or is at this scale or functionality.

Just playing devil's advocate here, I think your plane is gorgeous and well planned.

I think the main reason someone would avoid a high-mounted wing + twin wing mounted engines on such a small plane would be efficiency. The high thrust line leads to a considerable amount of pitch-down torque, which has to be countered by the tail, leading to drag. Coupled with the additional fuel consumption of a second engine, this could be one thirsty beast. To a small-time operator, the added costs in fuel and maintenance could be a turn-off and thus, not such a common design.

Now, all of this is completely aside from the fact that this is a much more rugged and reliable design than your standard Cub-clone. While the possibility of a noobie-pilot gunning the throttle at the wrong moment could be worrisome for that high thrust line, this can be easily overcome with proper wing design and other safety features. Overall, sacrificing a bit of fuel for an exponentially safer (and heavier-lifting) plane seems like a good trade to me.

@QuitePossiblyMangled They can't see your score on discord and they certainly don't care about it. If someone decides that it's not for them, that's fine. But there's no real reason not to give it a shot, assuming they're old enough and don't mind speaking English.

    FYI to new players:

SPBC is an extremely helpful discord server where you can ask questions, find advice and get to know other builders.
Most of the people who call it "toxic" are in fact trolls that have been banned for being obnoxious, which is another great reason to join if you really think about it.

  • MY NEW GRAVATAR 4.6 years ago

I've been friends with a few skinheads over the years, all of them anti-nazi, one of whom was even black. It always bothered them how white supremacists had managed to invade their movement.

As for the kolovrat, it's the same story. I love pre-Christian symbology. Runes, the old-gods, that stuff is both a part of our shared history and testifies to aspects of human nature. But just like the working class youth movement, nazis have widely adopted the so-called "Black Sun" since the days of Heinrich Himmler. I understand you might associate it as a talisman of your country or your people, but in society that symbol is more closely associated with people hellbent on the extermination of slavic people.

The Front Page has never looked better. A combination of talented builders, recent game updates and potent new visual mods has resulted in a steady flow of excellent creations.

The Forums are the exact opposite. I have never on this website seen so much trolling, whining and utter cringe. I feel really bad for new players looking for help or inspiration.

    You got 2 options:
    1) Learn how to carefully balance VTOL aircraft so that it takes off, lands and transitions to horizontal flight properly through a lengthy mix of studying real life aeronautical principles and in-game experimentation.
    Or:
    2) Use a gyro.
    It's up to you.

A train leaves the station in Wichita, KS at 8 AM Monday morning. It accelerates at 2 meters per second squared until reaching a cruising speed of 75 miles per hour. Two hours later, a train passes through Toledo, OH at a steady speed of 80mph. The trains are on straight, parallel tracks headed towards one another and will not stop. Where and when will they pass one another?

@KangaKangaTheRoo I showed this video to a coworker who was on a carrier back in the 90's. He told me this crazy story about a F-18 pilot who accidentally released a bomb while the plane was getting ready for takeoff. According to him, everybody crapped their pants and then got back to work. Safety features are so important.
