@herofinkloyef you are the best newbie I've ever seen. You'll learn. Whatever you need, feel free to ask me.

  • I Have A Question To People Who Know How To Use Overload. 8.6 years ago

@Pacman126 no problem. If you can't do it yourself, just tell me and I'll fetch some hex codes for you.

  • Herfin class Corvette 8.6 years ago

Hey, you deleted the one I downloaded and uploaded again? Anyway, it's great for the first ship. It looks good, and the design is quite realistic. Now, let me tell you a trick you can use on your future ships to improve their maneuverability. Use a VTOL engine with increased power and a VTOL nozzle with reduced angle of rotation to both move and steer the ship, with "rudders" only giving it stability (stopping the ship from drifting sideways). Also, almost all of the modern ships feature SAMs.

  • Well, this is weird... 8.6 years ago

I only finished "Going the distance". I too build, test, and upload. This game needs stuff like mission maker, GPS, map and distant locations, for flying to be fun.

  • I Have A Question To People Who Know How To Use Overload. 8.6 years ago

@KDS sounds fun. I'll have to try that.

  • I Have A Question To People Who Know How To Use Overload. 8.6 years ago

Google "Hex color", and select the shade of blue that suits you. Then copy the code and paste it into XML file.

  • how to make nice jet plane? 8.6 years ago

Download a jet that you like, take it apart, re-make every part, put them together, do the same with a few more planes, and you will learn how to make similar planes. That's what I often do.

    @CoolPeach no problem buddy

  • Blackburn Bucaneer (S.2) 8.6 years ago

It looks great. It could have had a bit more pitch, but it's not bad in the air. Good job on the rotating bay.

  • Roulette 1 8.6 years ago

@Logotrax try looking at blueprint of a plane that you want to replicate, and try to capture all of its prominent features and general outline. Good way to do this would be drawing a plane on a paper and putting that paper over the screen to compare the shape. Also, try making cockpit out of fuselage blocks, and placing an actual cockpit block inside it. It might be a bit hard on iOS, but it's doable. If you want to make a quick progress here, you will have to put a lot more time into your builds, a lot of effort, and a lot of thinking. Also, since you can't XML edit, you can take edited parts from my builds.

@Avro683Lancaster I'm more into witches and Ank Morpork City Watch, but everyone has his taste. I don't have a personal favorite. All the books from Pratchet are great.

@BaconAircraft oh... Can't wait to try it out anyway =)

  • Tiltrotor coming soon! 8.6 years ago

Looking at the pictures, i notice that doors open sideways. Maybe you can make them to open vertically, upper half going up, and lower half with a few steps on it going down to make it easier to enter the aircraft. I saw that configuration on some corporate planes, and it looks great in my opinion.

  • Tiltrotor coming soon! 8.6 years ago

Also, are you gonna do some paintjob?

  • Tiltrotor coming soon! 8.6 years ago

It looks great. I hope it flies equally well.

Hey, you are reading the Disc World series too? Those are my favorite books.

@AdrianFlyingAce it's on my list, but I have a few other projects before that.

  • All the W.I.P in Progresses 8.6 years ago

@LatteCoffee55 as I said, they might be good when you finish them. 3,4,5 can even turn out better than 1 and 2. I don't like them now, but that is my personal opinion. If you like them, they are good.

  • All the W.I.P in Progresses 8.6 years ago

    1 - Nice
    2 - Niiiiice
3,4,5 - I don't like them so far, but might turn out good

  • Teaser, Wolf Class Corvette 8.6 years ago

@jamesPLANESii yes. That's closest to the real thing that you can go, to my knowledge.

  • Teaser, Wolf Class Corvette 8.6 years ago

@KDS oh, come on, try to make a realistic ship

  • Teaser, Wolf Class Corvette 8.6 years ago

  • The GTS-2 [Insert Aircraft Name Here] 8.6 years ago

It looks amazing. Lots of details.

  • I don't stand a chance 8.6 years ago

You have to change your technique entirely. Try making a plane using somebody else's style. Download a plane, and copy it part by part. Then another, and maybe one more. That way, you will quickly learn a couple of new techniques. Then apply them to your own design. That's the secret of my rapid progress. I came where I am now in one year and two weeks.

  • Roulette 1 8.6 years ago

@Logotrax for me, because it looks nice. I have heard about roulettes, and the replica could have been more accurate (barely looks like Pilatus PC-9), but I kinda like this simple design.

  • Ccooper Planes? 8.6 years ago

@Dllama4 yup. Maybe one of his leftover fanboys has one or two of those saved and can produce an unlisted upvote. Hopefully one of them will stumble upon this post.

  • Update? 8.6 years ago

@TheOwlAce buddy, I have seen 30's and 40's planes on the site having over a thousand parts, detailed interiors, insignia, camo, historically accurate shape, markings, even serial numbers on the tail. Them being WW2 German planes doesn't mean they have to be so plain. Go to Google and search for those tiny details that distinguish those legendary planes, find different markings for them, and make stuff properly. Then you will get positive feedback and tons of upvotes. Also, my average isn't 20 upvotes per post, but around 60, with 50 or less being considered a failure. You want that, fight for it. Earn it with details. Yes, it's difficult, but that's why it gets upvotes.

  • Ccooper Planes? 8.6 years ago

@Dllama4 40-60 parts, sometimes 70, bad in flight, barely resembling what they are supposed to replicate, planes that one would expect from an average white user.

  • Update? 8.6 years ago

@TheOwlAce I mostly agree with @DeezDucks. Most of your builds somewhat look alike, and your "builds" page looks monochrome. Now, let's try to change that. Remember that WWI Challenge Submission? That one had potential. It's got a nice color, and the shape is not bad. You should have devoted a bit more time to the tail, making it more true-to-the-period, added some roundels, wing braces, exhaust pipe, and a few more details. It would have scored at least twice the number of upvotes.
On another point, you accused us, platinum users, of being privileged. Scroll down my "builds" page please, to the very end. You will see the constant progress from one build to another, each one being in some way better than the previous one. My first plane looks like a brick with huge wings. Few planes later, I made a hollow fuselage. Later on, I had custom interiors. I listened to improvement advices from comments, so I dropped enormous wings, and focused more on the exterior. Eventually, I dropped the interiors completely. Those changes in my style, and constant improvement, attracted followers. That got me to Platinum rank in three months, and here where I am now in just one year and two weeks. What I am trying to say is, you need more diversity in your building style in order to go further. Do not take this as an insult please, but as my attempt at giving constructive criticism.

  • F-54A Serval 8.6 years ago

@Dimkal no problem. I tested it, and beside a little nose-down issue that trim can fix, it flies quite well.

  • F-54A Serval 8.6 years ago

Woah, great job. It looks amazing. Unfortunately, I can't download it right now, but I'll test it later if I don't forget.

  • Screenshots of my Shorts 330! 8.6 years ago

@Luuk2909 yup. I discussed that earlier with HellFire, when I was still on Android.

  • Screenshots of my Shorts 330! 8.6 years ago

@Luuk2909 my laptop does 1500 on all high settings, on a relatively large build (52.3m long, my latest public upload), with barely a bit of lag every now and then.

  • Screenshots of my Shorts 330! 8.6 years ago

@Luuk2909 another problem is the processing power of devices. My medium-end laptop sometimes has a problem with MP. That means that mobile devices don't have a lot to hope for when it comes to MP.

  • Screenshots of my Shorts 330! 8.6 years ago

@Luuk2909 James is joking. HellFire wouldn't mind devs making an official multiplayer. Only problem, devs don't want to.

  • 011 Hydrofoil Missile Corvette (USSR Style) 8.6 years ago

@haidebiany I noticed. Set to throttle. It's a great idea. When I was building my hydrofoil craft, I spent hours making it actually do what it should. Next time, I'll use this trick.

Very nice. I like how you did the lifting-out-of-the-water part
