There is such a proposal (to some it may seem unfair). Make upvotes from players with more points earn more points than upvotes from players with fewer points.
For example:
upvote from bronze - 5 points
upvote from silver - 10 points
upvote from gold - 20 points
upvote from platinum - 25 points.
