It would be great if we could edit titles and the thumbnail of the SP vids, or at least have them update live to the YouTube thumbnail. Not sure how viable but it’s a thought.
@AndrewGarrison @weebabyseamus
Yeah, I’ve been working on the flight performance for a while. It’s hard cause planes in SP tend to follow the nose of the plane, rather than actually have a high AoA. When the plane is near stall it does become incredibly hard to roll and yaw well. @Tessemi
I had a camera that was set to follow cockpit on the ground, it required a lot of set up and planning, but provides the best result (personally better than the free cam mod). No testers for now, maybe later though @CRJ900Pilot
Glad you liked it. It was hard filming some of those shots, there are many I didn’t get right and were near impossible to do. Will work on honing my skills though. @temporaryaccount
Been pretty busy lately, still gotta finish some details within the cockpit. Also gotta refine the flight model, I really want it to be perfect too. Should be out soon hopefully. @temporaryaccount
Nice work guys. I’ve just been noticing that when I go to update from 1.7-1.8.2 to 1.8.3, it doesn’t seem to recognise the existing user files and just comes up with the default stuff. This is on a Mac by the way, I’ve tried both reinstalling, deleting the file etc, but it doesn’t seem to recognise it.
I haven’t noticed any dramatic lagging on my Mac, but certainly it was better in 1.8.0.0 than it is now in 1.8.1.0. Still an overall improvement from 1.7
Best way is keep it simple. Attach wing pieces were you want them with the control surfaces and then just scale them down and nudge them in. Keep the wing area close to the actual plane (measure it without the vertical stabs tho), it’ll keep the handling realistic. @Johndfg
Honestly you’d be better off just telling us. Like others have said, nobody wants to sit there for ages with the chance that something might happen. Even then, having this thing running for around 15mins, I haven’t noticed anything interesting. Is it meant to change direction or what?
Some mods don’t have a steam workshop page. To get those mods first download the file from the website.
Then go to :
~/Library/Application Support/unity.Jundroo.SimplePlanes
In there, create a folder named Mods for which you can put the mod file into.
Use structural wings that have edited XML code to enable control surfaces (found in many top user planes)
Sorry bout that haha, still need to work on sound and audio mixing and balancing
@Culydeath
I don’t think it’s from Chappie...
@ChickenMcNuggets007
Yeah, countermeasures were part of a series of upgrades later on. @Nerfenthusiast
The blueprints need to be in your photos folder within your personal user folder @Zoomzoom999
Dunno, depends how I feel and my schedule. Maybe another month or two
@JamesBleriot
Thanks man, glad you liked it
@HarryBen47
Haha, red’s a bit over the top
@Lahoski107
Yeah, takes a bit of planning and a lot of time to get what you want, we’ll worth though
@Thomasj041

Thanks guys, glad that you enjoyed watching it
@SpiritusRaptor @weebabyseamus
Thanks, I really enjoyed some of your vids too, especially the Mirage III. @MisterT
Glad you liked it!
@Freerider2142
No, vids of people you follow just pop up in notifications
@D0M1N420R

Maybe another week or another couple
months, depends how i feel. Around 1500 parts. @ProcessedPlAnEs
Takes a lot of time to do these vids, i’d need to build the plane too.
@BlitzBombers
Thanks, glad you liked it!
@BlitzBombers
It’s a piston with a very short extend length and a very fast speed set to cycle on pitch/fire weapons ect.
@Strikefighter04
As an Aussie, I respect this

This looks an awful lot like this plane don’t ya think...
@TMach5 @spefyjerbf
3
There are plenty of better ones, what about QingyZhou’s planes?
@ayou2005
I’d pick the one James sent, the others are a bit conventional. Been working on one myself, look forward to comparing the two crafts!
Thanks, glad you liked it
@Wabbit
I dunno, I dumped this project a while ago now
@Cvanimation
Thanks, it’s probably one of my best builds. Glad you liked it
@TMach5
I don’t think so, it worked fine in the previous 1.8 betas
@Reen1

Thank you, I’ve been working to change my build style a bit, I’m glad you like it. My next project should be even better!

Uh, not sure what you mean?
@Strikefighter04
That’s not true, they’re literally working on 1.8 now
Haha, I think it already has enough attention to it. Glad you like it though

I can offer some help if want, or just general advice if you’d like?@Johndfg
Nice stuff, good job on the cockpit!
That’s another one (probably the MQ-9 Reaper), this one is purely for reconnaissance only
@BossyMr
Not at all, go right ahead

Um, I think I would’ve gotten the wing physics wrong if my plane did have a landing speed of 38mph...
@randomusername
Brilliant challenge overall. I was forced to build something a bit different from usual but really enjoyed it nonetheless. Thank you for hosting it!
Have you tried pressing the fn button + f12?
Press “Shift+Command+G”. Then paste the thing below in there
Type this:
~/Library/Application Support/unity.Jundroo.SimplePlanes
into Go To Folder and see if that works
@Spacedoge12345plane
No worries, just making sure others don’t spend ages trying to figure it out
