Northrop Grumman RQ-4B Global Hawk

Auto Credit Based on CoolPeach's RQ-4B Global Hawk UAV

Overview

Had a hit of inspiration and decided to build this during the weekend. Very simple build, quite nice to fly. Features custom landing gear, wing spoilers (linked to brakes) as well as my first ever wing flex (~6° max). Built almost to 1:1 scale (a mixup of the models put the length off by a couple feet). Mobile friendly too.

Controls

TRIM - Calibrate vertical axis/trim
AG8 - Navigation Lights

Information

The Northrop Grumman RQ-4 Global Hawk is an unmanned (UAV) surveillance aircraft. It was initially designed by Ryan Aeronautical (now part of Northrop Grumman), and known as Tier II+ during development. The Global Hawk performs a similar role as the Lockheed U-2. The RQ-4 provides a broad overview and systematic surveillance using high-resolution synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and long-range electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensors with long loiter times over target areas. It can survey as much as 40,000 square miles (100,000 km2) of terrain a day, which is an area the size of South Korea or Iceland.

Lol I was looking at the real life one on Wikipedia and thought "maybe this will be on simple planes, well it is and I noticed that the wingspan is literally just .1 of the real one has a wingspan of 131′ 0″ and yours has a wingspan of 130′ 9″.

The wheels are funny on low physics, try medium or high. @BUILDERMATT03

@CoolPeach Yes, I think my phone its more than capable to run this model.

Are you running on low physics?

It's awesome but the wheels are unstable and gets destroyed during takeoff, any idea why?

That’s another one (probably the MQ-9 Reaper), this one is purely for reconnaissance only

I love this aircraft and UAV! However, like @TitanIncorporated stated, it has no weapons. Would the real UAV not have air to ground missiles, or is that another UAV I am thinking about?

I XML edited the rotators to free spin with a range of 2° (via overload). It just comes up as “disabled” because it’s less than 5

How did you make the wings flex like that? It’s exactly what I wanted for one of my previous builds, and I couldn’t figure it out... I used disabled hinge rotators but it wouldn’t flex like this... how did you do it? Lol
