@PINK, can you mod in XML and if so, would you be willing to mod a J15 into a J47...twice the power, twice the weight, 50% higher fuel consumption, everything else the same?
@PlanesOfOld, I needed to mod the J15 to put out more power for the B-47 I'm building. So, I went to the Reddit mod pages to figure out how to do it, downloaded Unity, Visual, the tools, etc. I then modded a J15 in accordance with the instructions on my PC, stuck a cockpit on it, uploaded it onto the site. When I tried to download it onto my phone (B-47 is on iOS), to use in my project, it wouldn't load and I got a message telling me that the J47 required modded parts. As I've downloaded your toolbox and used a couple of your parts (half power J15 and unbreakable wings) on my iOS successfully, I'm wondering how did you do it??
@PlanesOfOld, downloaded your Trusty Tool Box and used the unbreakable wings for my XB-70...worked great! Also, looking for a 2x power small turbojet. I used the stock J-15 for my B-47, but they're not powerful enough. Can you mod a J-15 to put out 6,000 lbs of thrust for me?
Not sure, there are quite a few users with thousands of points, so maybe you have hundreds or even dozens of up votes, not sure. As for being on here to get up votes, I enjoy my plane building projects and the resulting planes, so I am simply excited to see if others appreciate my creations. I like the timing hint; though, thanks for the hint @Skua and @jsaret, I'll try to time the releases better.
@Flightsonic I spent a long time building my first true replica, an F-4 and I think it's pretty good. Don't want to have it buried by a bunch of subpar creations before it's noticed.
This is pretty good, some interesting tricks, like the engines left on the ground, hmmm. For realism sake, I wouldn't go with infini-fuel as the real MiG-21 was extremely fuel-limited. The stress of worrying about fuel is part of the charm of flying the Fishbed. Also, most early MiG-21s were metal finish and your wing isn't quite a true delta (leading edge was straight on actual jet). But awesome intake simulation! Check out my F-4E which I uploaded this morning, but I think has been buried by a bunch of sub-par uploads😡
Totally agree! I hate when well built planes are buried by outright copies or when someone slaps a minor mod onto someone else's plane and claims it as their own!!! Luckily, it's pretty obvious when that's what happened.😡
This is really well done, had to figure it out though; action group 2 to launch the Spaceship, 3 for the rocket motor, but be sure to point the nozzle aft prior to firing the rocket! Really fun.
Agreed. I especially find it disingenuous when somebody takes a plane, puts some bombs on it or does some minor, minor mod on it (i.e., makes vertical stab bigger) then reposts it with some inane name like "Superfassst Stealth Bomber--Supermaneuverable!!!!)
I know, but the requirement to fly at deathray-like speed drains a lot of the fun out of making a low level ingress, followed by a pop-up dive-bomb attack profile!
@Theflyingauzzie, thanks for the approval. It WAS inspired by both the F-89 and the C101 Canuck, but it's neither, so hence the fictional name and background for a fictional plane. Almost all my airplanes are that way, the closest to real life is probably my "F-501 Lightningchief", inspired by the F-105 Thunderchief.
Suggestion: flip the "U.S. AIR FORCE" and roundel markings so the bottom of the markings face the trailing edges of the wings, as they are on AF aircraft. Really do prefer the fictional aircraft category, so thanks for this one!
Perhaps a bridge too far: A difference between swept and straight wings. There is absolutely no difference whether a wing is swept or straight. Also, there are no compressability effects with supersonic flight, so the area rule doesn't apply either in the physics model. I find the game addictive, though!

Nice. The bulges are conformal fuel tanks. Is this thing iOS-friendly?
So he mods using XML and I just used Unity...any idea where to get an XML tutorial to mod Simpleplanes parts?

Never work on iOS? I downloaded @PlanesOfOlds two toolboxes and those parts worked fine in iOS. Wonder how he did it...

@PlanesOfOld, downloaded your toolbox, going to try your wing and will let you know if this works, danke!
This is pretty cool, how did you construct the intake, if I may ask?

YW. I uploaded an F-4 a couple of hours ago, can you check it out and give me some feedback? It's getting buried
Ok, also a German flag insignia for the tail would be really cool as well😃👌
Subdued grey Luftwaffe insignia for F-4?
Yes possibly. It's all stock, might need some small details

Hey, is there any way to send you a P.M.? Need some advice on posting my latest creation.

@Jimmi, great! Thanks for sponsoring the challenge!
@WalrusAircraft, really cool "paint job" on this one...is the shiny aluminum stock?

@Cjredwards, ugh no idea why or how it would post twice. I can barely find the plane posted in the "newest" section, how do I remove the second post?
Thanks, did you fly the glider?
@archerj2010, get to speed and activate group 1 to release the glider. It isn't meant to fly with the rocket sled attached!

Oh, yeah, more intakes.
A heading indicator. Flaps. Trim.
Ok, I uploaded my jet using "twin boom plane challenge", not sure if I did it right or not.
Ok, how do I submit for this? Do I download and reload my jet under this name?
When I posted it Thursday evening, I think everyone was posting theirs, so they were buried further down in the pages.
Why thank you; some of my other creations fly even better. If you like them, be sure to give an up vote, thanks again!
@Flightsonic, do you mean a joystick?
@BeryllCorp on screen controls for the PC version?
