Whew. Glad I looked here. I was about to blow a gasket trying to figure out why I was getting a connection error when I was trying to upload, lol. Thanks for the heads up.
@FighterCrafter14 Ah, yeah. Well, they did have rockets during the war, but my only option for that is rocket pods. Otherwise I would have rather had rocket racks, like in WWII.
@FighterCrafter14 The guns should be pretty accurate. The rockets tend to fire a bit below the reticle, but that has to due with the way the game handles weapons.
@KerbalVehiclesCompany For a minute there I thought you wrote that you joined when YOU were 3 months old, lol :P
.
Also, I had no idea SP was a year old already. Pretty awesome!
@AgDynamics Meh. I'm all for the message that smoking is bad. It's regulations that keep people from doing it that irritate me. Smoking IS bad for you. Taking away people's civil liberties is bad for society.
I get the message here, and it's noble and all, but not really something that should be uploaded. This is kind of in the same area as posting flags IMHO.
The bomb is cool.. The plane? I don't really get it. The ultra thin frame between the fuselages and stabilizers looks flimsy and makes the look of the plane very unrealistic.
Looks similar to the Russian Nuclear Bomber that was in development during the cold war. Very cool indeed.
A tip about canards:
Though it doesn't really apply much to this game due to it's very simplified physics, control surfaces that use the entire wing usually pivot in the center of the control surface to keep the load even along it's length and put less strain on the system doing to rotating.
As to the control issue at low speeds, it's really difficult to get control surfaces to work at low speeds in SP. That has to do with the game's physics model and not really the aerodynamic design of my plane. I've built plenty of other STOL type aircraft that perform well as low as 40mph, but they have to weigh almost nothing to accomplish that. The use of a variable incidence wing on this aircraft is only to get it off of the ground quickly. When landing, if you use the variable incidence at all, should only be a small amount.
@JacobHardy64 I've found that full incidence is only useful for take-off. Once off the ground the flaps need to be immediately raised to keep the plane from nosing up out of control. It definitely gets the plane in the air quickly, though. When landing I usually only pull the slider down about half a tick just to make the plane a little loftier on approach.
On my phone, I had a lot of trouble controlling her, since she requires a lot of precise yaw control. However, when I downloaded it and flew on PC with my XBOX controller, I had little trouble keeping her flying straight. Overall, it's a very impressive concept. I wouldn't mind seeing a bomber sized version.

@AviationXpert154 Sure. Go right ahead.

Looks great, but you forgot the intake cones.
Pretty cool. I may have to modify this a bit to make more of a trike, but I love what you've done here :D
@ProKillaV12 You're welcome!

Merry Christmas :D
Very clever job on the landing gear :D

@SyntaxError Ah, so that's the problem. I just installed mine on Steam, and I noticed the locations had changed. I guess I should update this then?
@SyntaxError It certainly qualifies.
@Blu Yep. I'm a little slow getting everyone's rewards out, but yeah, you're a winner!
Did you ever post the results for this contest?
@FrankieB it's on the location list in the options. But the challenge is now South runway to bandit airfield.
@ThunderBlood Welcome aboard!
@Delphinus It's the spirit of the challenge that counts, right? Your entry is pretty cool, btw.
@FighterCrafter14 The package must begin detached and separate from the aircraft.
@ElGatoVolador You can do either, so long as the package isn't damaged.
@DeezDucks That works. Just be creative :D
Looks fantastic, but flies like a brick.
@Martijnproper It's not 9 upvotes to one plane. They get 9 of their planes upvoted. lol.
@TommySchram13 Just imagine what it may be like another year from now!
Next you should make a Flying V..... get it?
@JacobHardy64 lol I'd be swimming in them.

Were floating blocks in 1.1? I want to build a sea plane for this challenge.

Awesome! Congrats to everyone!
@TheLatentImage That makes sense to me. Add an opacity slider to structural panels.
Awesome replica. Would you consider making the F-15 STOL/MTD or ACTIVE variants?
@merasmusthewizard when I get the time to judge them. Been busy lately. I'll get to them soon.

Very very nice. Congrats on Platinum too!

@JacobHardy64 Welcome back! I saw your RC plane. I modded it a bit to have visual ailerons made of smaller fuselage parts. I might upload it later on.

@Avgeek24 Barely squeaked it in, eh?
@DeezDucks no problem
This is a pretty slick replica. Would you be okay with me uploading a version with rotator mounted canards?
@SpiritusRaptor Thanks! Glad you like it.
@bobthetitan123 Nah. Just thought you might find that interesting.
