NGAD F/A-28A Lodestar

4,249 Drakenquack  one month ago

Naval NGAD designed for carrier operations.

Vortices mod variant here

Probably looks like any other NGAD but this is my take on the F/A-XX Program.

Controls

AG1 — Arresting Hook
AG2 — Full Tail Control
AG3 — Formation Lights
AG4 — Nav Lights
AG5 — Refuel Panels
AG6 — Master Arm
AG7 — Canopy
AG8 — Toggle Idle Engine Sound
VTOL — Tail Trim

Features

No Gun!
12 AA Missiles
Airbrakes?
Cool Afterburners!
Spacious Weapons bay..
Multi-purpose Control surfaces?

I've always loved dorito planes, they have a special place in my heart.

I was hoping to push this build more but I think that burnt me out more than anything (bit off more than I could chew). This thing was just taking too much damn time out of my day especially the freaking FBW which was all scrapped.

This FBW system was going to aid in flight and make it fly SMOOTH, but due to my inexperience in funky trees (Skill issue) and prolonged hours of the code working just right then breaking when you simply performed a loop along with a plethora of head banging issues I just decided to toss it and resort for a more RUDIMENTARY flight control scheme...

Besides that it flies well. Enjoy!

I thought it would be released on SP before it came out in reality. Waiting for the SP 2 one now.

@PlainDude11 Sort of, I went through many different variants of this craft. One in particular had flip up vertical stabs that were going to be deployed to aid in maneuverability, however there were many issues with this that would require a full redesign. Near the end I did consider TVC for this but again that would require a lot of moving stuff around... Idk maybe in the future I might come back to this and remake it into a crazy PSM/TVC/Missile/mothership lol.

Were you planning on making this perform PSM maneuvers? I would love to see one that can do this. This is amazing by the way love what you did with the tail.

Holy crap, I want to thank everybody for the upvotes and awesome comments, I didn't think this thing would get as popular as it would, definitely a motivator to keep building.
