RNVS Defiant

RNVS Defiant(HMS Defiant) was a battlecruiser of the Royal Navy. She is the first of two Defiant-class battlecruisers built prior to the Continental War. Both she and her sister ship, Resilient, were considered to be the last capital ships of the “Old Navy”. Her keel was laid down in the Astorer-Haughner drydock in May of 1043. With the focus of the Royal Navy turning to their Aerial Fleet, the commanders and designers of the Surface Command were given free reign as to what they should do with the remaining stocks of materiel that was allocated to them. Plans ranged from building several dozen destroyers to upgrade their previous ones or a set of cruisers for commerce raiding and escorting. Ultimately it was decided to construct two large capital ships that would supplement the Grand Home Fleet located in Reinsutr near the mouth of the Inland Seas. Defiant would be launched in August of 1047, and upon her commissioning in 1051, was the largest and most powerful warship at the time. She has gained several nicknames, with the most notable being “The Serpent Slayer” for defeating the serpent queen Monravak. She is also the first warship to be equipped with the Irelium furnace, giving her an almost unlimited range with no need to refuel.

Defiant and her sister would partake in patrols across the entirety of the Kingdom’s coastal waters. Their immense size was their most notable feature, having thousands of onlookers whenever they visited a friendly port. Defiant would be relocated to the Northern Hunting Fleet, serving as their flagship from 1055 to 1058. In 1060, while sailing back to her homeport, Defiant
Would encounter a swarm of sea serpents in the Gardin Straits, led by a large Queen Serpent.
The sea serpents posed a threat to the nearby civilian towns and the strait itself being used as a major shipping lane. Defiant would engage the swarm, eventually defeating their queen, prompting them to flee. The crew would harvest the remains of the queen and use her skull as a decoration on the bow of their ship. Weeks later during an exercise, the skull would shatter to pieces and be lost at sea while firing her main guns, prompting the crew to take scraps from a aerial gunship to build a replica.

In 1063, Defiant would be lost in her final engagement during the Battle of Solver Bay, sinking two enemy battleships and heavily damaging another. She would be towed to the shallows by her sister after receiving fatal damage herself, and she would be soon scuttled to prevent her Irelium furnaces from detonating. Majority of her superstructure and bow would be still visible above the surface, eventually being scrapped after the war.

@UnmanagedReservoir You must have the greatest patience of anyone I have ever talked to ever. To be able to build a 28458 part project like this with nothing but, lag happening is astounding to say the least.
