Supermarine Spirit (SBD design) 3.5

144k RamboJutter  1.9 years ago

Another build based on Small-Brown-Dogs designs (Again all credit for the design and artwork to him), carefull on takoff and landing as the narrow track undercarriage can cause issues, pretty much a replica of the artwork though, enjoy.

@Mustang51 ps rippedoffdog below is Small-Brown-Dog, he deleted most of the comments he made but if you read the below you can get the gist of his concern about using his designs (i had told him fortunately so it ended amicably enough)

I was hoping that you made this one. The moment I saw it from sbd it became my favourite fictional plane

@Tang0five No offence taken - been a bit too much negative crap since I cam around anyway :)

I have a couple of ideas I am developing at the moment - one could be an early turbojet.

First thing I should do is get rid of this rotten name and perhaps come back again in a better light ;)

    Two answers for you:-
The first is that imagine the hours running into weeks you have put into something and then imagine it has been ripped off.
Then imagine that without digging a little deeper you go ape shit and find that really it is you that is in error.

    My bad

Where do you draw the line with that @rippedoffdog ? You going to debrief every child that’s recreated something on minecraft....?!

This is exactly how I think of these designs too. These kites might have Tesla lift generators this and ion thrusters that, but they are net energy consumers. These crates still need a whacking great generator to power them and I cant think of a more pleasent genny to have than a RR Merlin or maybe a Bristol Hercules. @RamboJutter
