Here is the idea. If the devs want more people to play SimplePlanes all they need to do is place a few non obstructing ads on the SimplePlanes website. Then they give some of the ad revenue to people based on how many upvotes there posts get. Because let’s be honest. SimplePlanes would get boring if it wasn’t for the new 1000 part build made by a platinum user every so often. But the concept would make SimplePlanes a bit competitive and people will have an incentive to play. Also I did some swiping on the users page(up to page 100 or so) and SimplePlanes peak was something like 2 years ago. But this whole idea could make SimplePlanes become MASSIVE.

In my opinion though, the fun thing about the SP community is how relaxed it is. Because the points don’t actually have amy real-world significance, people aren’t super competitive. If the site was monetized, I feel like the comminity would considerably less welcoming and chill. Just look at what happened to YouTube. The community is SUPER toxic, and there’s lots of spammy content farm channels trying to get as many views and make as much money as possible. Also, I really appreciate the fact that there’s no ads on the SP site. It really makes the site feel more inviting because the site isn’t constantly trying to sell you stuff. Just my two cents.

-you can have some money to use(spent it wisely)
-it will bring SP and SR2 to a big boom of new players meaning more people will buy the game
-the people is more encouraged to build new and innovative builds
-the Fictional(virtual) Companies that people made are now gaining real money
-might bring some old people that play this game back

Disadvantage Bad side
-Greed
-breaking the rules to gain money(alternate accounts)

-the Might turn some people who build with passion to greedy money makers

Multiple people have demonstrated that the upvote system is incredibly easy to ‘hack’ (it doesn’t even deserve that term). The only reason that people don’t actually do it is that there’s no point (and they have the slightest sense of decency). The play-to-earn road is not something anyone should want to go down.
