Alright. Here’s the deal...

So recently I have been going around the newest and hottest pages of SimplePlanes, to see how other people are doing. And as I’m looking around I see this awesome plane, built by a great builder with so much potential. But that talent seems to go unnoticed by many. That’s why the majority of the posts seem to go without recognition. That’s what upvotes are for. It’s like telling the person “hey... this is great! Your doing good, keep building!” I know personally that going unnoticed is a real let down. And when your work goes unnoticed, it’s hard to keep building. That’s why we should look around for such potential, and give them encouragement. It only takes a few seconds of your time, to make someone feel good, and motivated to make more great designs for the community.

note
This is just an opinion, and it’s based on what I have seen. I hope this doesn’t come across as rude or me trying to undermine people’s success. This is not meant to offend anyone in anyway.

The cool kids group where things are happening? Where someone needs to be? Ok... I think that we inhabit very different realities. @Spacedoge12345plane

I don't think plat builds are over hyped. They got to platinum doing the same things that everybody else did. They just got better and better and better until they got to plat and now they just make better builds than others, because of all the experience they got building their way to plat.Anyone can make it to plat with enough practice and time.

Whats the «in» group? Seriously, Ive been around here for 18 months or so and I cant say that Ive ever seen it, heard it or experienced it. I have, however met a bunch of sterling chaps whom I have come to hold in high esteem. The «in» crowd can go swing for all I care. Whoever they are... I really do think that you are setting too great a value on rank. @Spacedoge12345plane

Well maybe you don’t care. It for many people who have just started, or have been at it for years, an upvote can mean a lot. I’m not trying to take away your opinion. In fact, this is what this post is, an opinion. @BaconEggs

Who cares if a plane is noticed, it's more the completion of a project that satisfies me.

@Spacedoge12345plane I don't really Think that it works like that, i'm not plat and my latest builds have gotten a nice ammount of upvotes and now a Days its harder to get upvotes or atleast i Think so. Because of how many people can mod parts and use finetuner (including the in-game one) it is easier to create something Amazing while back in the olden' Days there weren't even resizable Wheels or shocks and most had to use scaled subassemblys.

Youre getting hung up too much on the whole rank thing. It really doesnt matter and is no clear reflection on how good a builder/community member you are. Upvotes are nice but they should not have such a big influence on what you choose to build and when. That little yellow sticker next to my name could disappear tomorrow and I couldnt care less.

@OC3LOT1142 Totally! It isnt about the upvotes, but they are nice to receive. I build for my own gratification and actually like comments, criticism and encouragement more. Someone taking the time to interact with me because of something Ive built is of more worth to me than a simple upvote. Still, upvotes are nice.

@OC3LOT1142 no worries dude, votes appear to be an emotive subject. The other fella just winds me up basically saying platinum don't deserve votes.

@OC3LOT1142 yeah man it wasn't a dig at your post I was trying to get to the bottom of the other dudes beef. I try to upvote builds I see that I like, ranks don't come into it, getting the build seen is the hard bit.

Remember how it felt, what if you could give that feeling to a new user? You would wouldn’t you? This post is to addressing that fact. That you can make someone’s day by taking a few seconds out of yours. @Chancey21
