Update Idea: Adding adventure to SP

As it stands, SP is just a sandbox game without much of a storyline and thats completely fine. But why not add more exploration to the game?


My proposal: scattered around the map, add crashed vehicles, abandoned buildings, sinking ships, cargo containers, etc. that spawn in random locations, similar to convoys. Unlike convoys, however, they won't have an Air tp Ground target and they cant move on their own. A new mission could also be added where you rescue important cargo from a crashed cargo plane or a sinking ship and taking too long causes you to fail. Additionally, another mission could be made where you deliver a heavy cargo container to a short, remote runway to resupply a scientific expedition. We already have the Kraken and the Brown Pearl, so this idea isn't too far fetched.


In my opinion, this would add more excitement to the game and promote using parts like the magnet and winch, as well as making rescue and cargo vehicles.

    This is a good idea. This is a great idea, and I am a Todd bot from YouTube. No but seriously, this seems cool. The only problem would be finding these things, maybe if there was some sort of thing you could add like a target selector, except it would be a “friendly” target.

    Exactly. I feel that the game is very combat oriented, but if such campaigns were to exist it would promote many users to make different types of aircraft @vcharng

    @CRJ900Pilot Yeah, but maybe the controls would change to something more manageable, like no throttle, when you're in person mode.

    Planes are very versatile, perhaps different campaigns for different planes would be a good idea. We can have a SAR campaign, combat campaign, transport campaign... etc.

    Yeah a controllable character would be cool. Not even something detailed, just like a moveable version of the standard dummy. It would take some thought on how to control it though @MrPorg137

    Another thing. Add actual people we can control outside of the plane. We're already so close with funky trees, so it wouldn't be too impossible.

    The abandoned buildings and sinking ships should appear as normal in sandbox imo.
