@F104Deathtrap you can stick a cylinder grip inside of something. you can scale its length, but scaling its radius causes issues. you can use control bases for EVERYTHING. they can have the same function as a lever or switch. though using one as a small switch causes issues
Anyway, the VR alpha is out now, I can finally give feedback.
Pitch does not work. I pulled on it and nothing happened. Using the stick on my right controller works.
Roll works.
Those two red levers don't do anything
I have to reach behind myself and do a bunch of recenters in order to reach the controls next to me, as I was playing this sitting on a couch.
Nothing else, since my computer is lagging just thinking about this build
@bjac0 felt that this was a remote enough place. anyway, the private alpha is out. and your lioness ATV doesnt work in VR. since the controls are pitch and roll (i think), when i grab onto the yoke, the car shoots backwards uncontrollably. which is a shame since i really wanted to drive gold prix with it
@AndrewGarrison
hello, i was wondering where i can submit bug reports and suggestions for SPVR? as i already found something a bit annoying in my first few seconds of loading in.
i am running on windows 11
start of suggestions / bugs list:
grab hitboxes on joysticks are way too small, and i find myself phasing my hand through a joystick rather than grabbing it
menu button on occulus quest does nothing, making it pause the game would be nice
yokes on the stock craft are too close to the player, and i find myself unable to pull up because i cant phase a controller through my chest
the abilty to just tilt your controller instead of moving it manually (have this be something that has to be enabled in settings)
disconnecting and reconnecting oculus link (havent tried airlink yet) will cause the oculus quest 2 to lose tracking until reboot.
the ability to copy an aircraft link and use CTRL + L to load it in would be nice
twist the controller left and right to yaw would be cool, using the joystick sorta breaks the immersion. its also how the VRchat flight simulators do it.
using levers on binary inputs (on/off or activation groups) will lead to rapid toggling on and off
i cant disable the day/night cycle and its driving me nuts
the terrain goes into low poly mode when its in plain sight, even on high terrain settings, it looks like im playing on mobile. example screenshot
the ability to search with multiple tags at once in the built-in browser
I need the ability to grab and interact with things from a distance, as I was playing the game on my couch, and a lot of couch punching happened while I was trying to press buttons and grab levers
i hate pinging devs, but this would a nice thing to know.
@pedro16797
is there any offical date for when the alpha testers will be selected? is there also a solid planned number of people that will be selected?
@Schiefensnarglez external controller support, the game will support rudder pedals that you can plug in. You can also use the left stick for throttle and yaw like on mobile
Also quick question about the Oculus quest version of SPVR, will you be able to download aircraft from the built in oculus browser and Firefox reality?
Also, full body tracking in future versions? I wanna push down on virtual rudder pedals with my feet! Hand tracking may be a cool future thing too, though only for craft with functional cockpits
@SupremeDorian so quick question, I already own a steam copy of the game, am I able to pirate a PC copy of the game for a device that cannot run steam? I use some of my old PCs as local MP servers and theyre too old to run steam. (They run windows Vista)
@NexusGaming you replied to me one year ago and only got the notification just now. I'm not sure how that notification got lost in the mail for that long
@PlaneFlightX the oculus quest 2 is an android device, it will run whatever android software you toss at it. as long as it can be controlled with a single finger, it will work. getting it installed and showing in front of you can be a bit of a struggle though. recording it is also a big PAIN, because of how the apps are run, the apps usually wont be seen by the built in screen recorder. (third party ones dont work, i already tried)

got a 4
i saw someone in the second from bottom craft in MP.
hmm....
VR tester here. I can't drive this in VR, as I can't go forward. Add a throttle lever in the cockpit please
@MarcoOranges it's been teased for a while now
Can't wait to add a cockpit and take a spin in VR
You can put throttle on an activation group and set horsepower to zero on the top rotor
Add weight to front
@WNP78 that would be a good idea
T.
I will heavily scrutinize it's VR playability
@WNP78 pasted the link directly into the steam client, worked there
@WNP78
https://steamcommunity.com/app/1796680/discussions/0
Exactly what is in the email.
@WNP78 just tried to access it, it just tossed an error. I'll send you the link on an old repurposed post of mine
@WNP78 the steam post I was linked to in the acceptance email doesn't work, also, where can I put bug reports and suggestions?
@OtakuNekoToT I never really looked if there were new parts yet, so I dont know. But I won't say anything about it except already known stuff
@WIZARD2017 also there's no copilot camera
@bjac0 submitted a bug report on the gun rotation, as it doesnt turn. Switches on the dash for AG functions would be a nice addition
@bjac0 I'll look for other issues once I get home from school.
Anyway, the VR alpha is out now, I can finally give feedback.

@bjac0 as soon as I grab it it shoots backwards, no amount of pushing and pulling makes it change.

the latest update seems to have broken this
i hate pinging devs, but this would a nice thing to know.

@LotusCarsSub paste what it said in the comment section, then in the comment you made, paste that into the desc
@LotusCarsSub maybe it's the font
@poenix selection hasn't happened yet
Also the website supports Japanese text
日本語の話し方がわからない
Why do you not have more upvotes
Also you should pin this post for a day or something, as I almost scrolled past it without a second thought when I first saw this.
I should try running the mobile version of SP on windows 11, since that can run Android apps.
Also when will the SPVR alpha testers be selected?
@e_soup yes, by clicking/tapping/dragging on them. Things on control bases don't count
@Sm10684 removed as per request
(Bribery always works)
When should the selection take place?
@Minecraftpoweer ruined it
@Schiefensnarglez external controller support, the game will support rudder pedals that you can plug in. You can also use the left stick for throttle and yaw like on mobile
@Alanthelegendaryfighter it's an Xbox 360 kinect sensor plugged into my laptop. It's janky as hell but it works
I can do full body tracking if you guys plan on supporting it. But I have the jankiest setup in existsnce
@jamesPLANESii it may come with an alpha version of 1.12 with the VR button
@Alanthelegendaryfighter SPVR is not gonna run on one of those headsets you put your phone into. It is meant for a headset that has 6+ dof
Also quick question about the Oculus quest version of SPVR, will you be able to download aircraft from the built in oculus browser and Firefox reality?

Just sent in an application. Let's hope I get selected. I plan on buying both versions of SPVR anyway, so no hard feelings if I don't get in.
[Edit]: misread the forum post, my application will be a bit funky
will test this out in VR if i get selected for the beta (if one happens anyway)
@Herobrinefirst wdym
also dont ping andrew. he is busy enough as is

was able to get an early copy of SPVR, i can change the cockpit to fit VR better if needed
