Congrats on 10k! I have seen this elsewhere but this is more part efficient. I have an FT question for you: how did you code the speed hold/attitude hold for your 757? I could code to keepmspeed at 150kts or hold attitude at 15* up but idk how to take current values
.
Also, you might want to rename it so people can find it
Uhm yes do that I guess!
.
Also, can you tell KnightRen that he can unblock me now? This is bothering me too much, but it is and I just want to talk it out
I have a trashy device but--I could provide help I guess? I try to provide helpful tips a lot(check my newest comments lol). Maybe if you gave me less "pretty" pics substituted with more instructional ones then I could try to see what I could do.
@rexrexThezion it's not that the yaw isnt strong enough, it's that it's too crisp and stiff. I would even argue that it is too powerful. It just needs to be smooth and, idk, smooooth. So maybe lighten the deflection, and add the wing in the middle. This also helps the yaw actually change the heading, yaw really does magic irl
.
Sorry I am doing a bad job explaining, hope it makes sense. And now I know what wing switches are
@AlmostMobileFriendly how do you do good wings? I use the EternalDarkness strat, idk what I do wrong! And btw here is a better wing style which @Ergi and I use. Pretty unique for him/her to invent, I really like it. Unfortunately, it does not support taper, hence why it is very good for Bush planes and ultralights.
. Edit: actually using inlet trickery it might be possible to taper it--I might just go test that rn
@rexrexThezion hey, first of all, I never said it wasn't good, I just said it was ok. I have flown a real plane before and the roll rate seems good, the pitch rate seems good, and overall speed is pretty good.
.
Just that IRL yaw provides a little more and yaw and pitch are the soft inputs, and roll is the crisp input, just in general. Here it takes a while to reach the full roll rate, but honestly I dont really care. You can make yaw better by sticking a small vertical wing in the middle of the fuselage near the CoM(no ctrl surfaces).
.
But overall good, your plane inspired the cockpit of my most recent plane!
.
.
btw what is this "wing switches" you mention with bagel
@AsteroidAsteroidTheBook I could load that in, but the fps would be so low that its be pointless. I might try and strip it down to 350 or so, I'm gonna do that right now. By reading your flight model guide, I think you must have only a few parts with drag so the flight model shouldnt take a beating
@BATTLEGAMER101 it is possible to have a tow plane attached. It is also very tricky. Usually setups with tow planes/winches are not working really well. Essentially you can do the same thing.
. Just get a powered plane that goes relatively slow, like the default bush plane or the P-51. Climb up to somewhere fun, then slow down as slow as you can go and save that location and name it "glider spawn". At this point, spawn the glider there.
@KLM_747 ah. I went to a young eagles flight(free) and got to fly in a 172 bush. I pretty much flew the whole time until we landed, at which point he slammed the elevator straight to our chests. No float, it was beautiful. But I know quite a bit about GA because a key part of my week is going to the airport and talking to pilots and watching/reading plane videos/articles.
.
And I mean I'm sure you know this, I'm not sure how far into training you are, but just fly slower aproaches, or just as you would normally touch down, just pull more elevator to keep you up. The latter is bad to get in a habit of, but whatever it's better than landing fast.
@KLM_747 oh yes! Now I remember that a lot of boeings have all-moving stabs for more trim efficiency--including the 737 I believe although I may be wrong. Although, the ailerons do have trim tabs on the 737-900, I saw them irl. I was recently trying to find this elevator deflection for you but it is really tricky to find. I made a 737 one time to scale but it was too many parts and I couldn't finish, and I couldnt find throws for any surfaces on that either.
.
Look, all I know is that the default SP deflection of 35* is waaaaay too high. As you have your elevators at 30,* your very high up there. As I said in your wing post with the ailerons, they maybe moved 10-15* at a maximum. And although the elevators may be capable of reaching 25 or 30,* the flight computers would limit their throws except possibly on flair; at least in general aviation, full elevator deflection is almost always used on landing.
.
But I am one of the people addicted to plane spotting videos, and in heavy crosswinds that rudder will be all over. I think the 20* you have rn is looking pretty accurate, maybe copy over the 20 to the elevators. I typically use 15-20* btw, depending on the type of aircraft(bush/stol/aerobatics planes more, ultralights and GA aircraft less)
This is amazing. Not sure if you are taking suggestions from measly silvers like me but heres a few things.
.
Trim tabs??!?
Rudder deflection good
Elevator deflection probably too high
.
That's all from me!
I am building an eerily similar F-103 Moonfighter. Wait can you actually post this on your forum next to the picture of yours, they look really similar.
.
I am using a similar set of blueprints and I will copy your techniques, but I am keeping it fictional for freedom(ex. where I didn't do the front frame). I know I could get away with another 50% upvote gain making it a replica but whatever. Also, I am building mine smaller than scale, maybe 1:1.6 or so.
.
What is your current part count? I am around 60 RN, I am assuming you are at what, 85?
@KnightOfRen spotlight, no upvote lol

Interesting
@rexrexThezion trust me it's a good strat. I rarely use it but it's on the KEA--the ultimate sign
@WiiMini ah yes I just commented his post. I blocked him out of mindless rage(and probably vice versa)
Uhm yes do that I guess!
.
Also, can you tell KnightRen that he can unblock me now? This is bothering me too much, but it is and I just want to talk it out

@PapaKernels definitely know what derpy means
@ChamDel7 both are ugly

@5Ewok oh I forgot to mention that, check the desc now
@XP ok
@AsteroidAsteroidTheBook exactly that(thanks for letting me know btw)

@AsteroidAsteroidTheBook oh it has too many parts rip me
@DerpTheSoyacfartala ooh smart. Then you can have the tumbling effect. This will always be 100% accurate dang it
@AsteroidAsteroidTheBook what plane is that btw
@XP it's really simple lol. Just
PitchAngle / 90in one andRollAngle / 90in the other rotator11nd aaaaaaa

Yay I made guages!
Flys ok but the interior is nice. The gun shake is also cool. I want to make a cockpit like this but I have no idea how to do all the guages good

@WiiMini unpixulatus disaramus! Aaaaaaaaaaaa
@WiiMini lol how could you unpixelate something?
@WiiMini and, has the knight said anything
@WiiMini no it's a stock image of a guy holding a watergun
@KnightOfRen we will assume that lol
