@Pakdaaircraftindustries The color with that gloss makes me think of darth Vader lol @Graingy I have no idea what you're talking about (I don’t play war thunder) but I saw the number 6 next to the number 7 and my brain became very displeased...
@Graingy I don’t mind a little rambling, and I find this setting and the characters within it singularly intriguing. But that’s enough of that. There's some homework with my name on it I should probably get to work on... sigh
@Graingy I see, so there is a vast number of mice while an incredibly small number of lions and cats... Is PA-002 "feeding" off of these cores? Also, could the cores be explained as the kind of "soul" of these robots? If both are true PA-002 reminds me a lot of the Devil, whether this was intentional or not I think it gives another "layer" to the story and how it compares to reality (meaning our reality and existence as humans [or in our cases, a stupid confused gorilla and a sentient Martian grain that can somehow write stories]).
@Graingy fascinating... fantasy is my obvious favorite, but if I had to rank sci-fi it would be second favorite (I've grown up with Star Wars and Star Trek so sci-fi has always been entertaining. Fantasy is actually a rather recent [in terms of my lifespan so far] taste I acquired after getting sucked into Tolkien's world of Middle Earth, although I read the Green Ember series beforehand and I believe that contributed also). And don’t ever worry about response time, this isn't like a group chat where I ask you a direct question and expect an immediate answer, so if you have stuff goin' on and can't reply immediately there is no need for an apology. Thanks for the clarification on the pronunciation. Interesting how PA-002 seems much smaller when explained in the scope of the more "divine" powers... I suppose pretty much everything relies on perspective and is relative to who tells the story, like if I were a mouse a cat would seem like an insurmountable enemy, but to a lion a cat is hardly worth notice. Maybe that isn't the best analogy, but that was the best I could think of at that moment. Either way, I think this is a well written story with very interesting lore. (And, again, sometime this week I'll reread it and more give feedback or questions if anything else stands out to me.)
@Graingy I read it. I enjoyed it! I've always found sci-fi interesting and this "Soian Empire" seems like a very intriguing setting for this unfortunate chain of events (although I have no idea how to pronounce it lol). At the moment I don't really have any comments (I will reread it sometime in the near future so we'll see if I have any then) other than a few questions about PA-002. What exactly does the PA designation stand for? I assume this is a fairly powerful being considering the description of it and what it did to the MA units (as well as how the others refer to it with a certain awe of hatred mixed with fear), but just how powerful is it? I suppose it's all relative to the other units' abilities but I am curious if there are any designations above it or if there are any other PA units?
Within SimplePlanes itself (not the website) go into the designer and load your craft. Then in the side menu it should have a blue rectangle that says “Share” (or something like that). Press this button and then fill in the boxes for a title and description. Then upload it from this menu!
@SupremeDorian sorry to bother you, but do you know what’s going on? If this isn’t anything to worry about then you can just ignore this, but I’ve never seen the site load this slowly
@ComradeSandman bro I kid you not I was about to post a forum about this exact thing when it just started randomly loading fast… I guess I shouldn’t complain but I don’t know what changed
Poetry is a different story though, that stuff just sucks the life out of me, I hate it. Shakespeare is the only slight exception, because although the poetry itself may kill me there are layers to the plot and characters that I find interesting to dissect and look at
@Graingy oh I get it, I’ve had ideas about writing some fantasy for years now but I haven’t really got anything concrete except for some main plot components and characters…
I’m quite the opposite with reading though, I really can’t put down a book as long as it isn’t 1. Frustratingly unresolved or infuriatingly “mysterious” (like “A series of unfortunate events”, that book nearly killed me…) or 2. Stupidly slow or boring
@Graingy just curious, have you ever read “The most dangerous game”? I know it was published in like 1930s or something so it’s pretty old but I absolutely loved it, so if you haven’t read it I would recommend it if you like suspense and slightly dark themes (I don’t know if dark is exactly the right word but that’s the best I can describe the vibe I got from it)
Edit: it was published in 1924 (according to AI) so it’s pretty dang old
@Graingy right, genre is the word I was looking for. For fantasy literature I have a much greater attention span, so if that idea ever comes into existence I’d gladly read it! I’ve heard rumors of what Reddit is like… dark rumors full of horror and fear…
…
Anyways! I’m looking forward to your next story, whatever it may be
Let’s put it all in perspective, this is a website for a game about planes where people post their creations. It’s supposed to be a place where you share the fun you had on the game with others. Stealing crafts and then reposting them to get internet points is… incredibly stupid. I can think of about 56.1 quadrillion better uses of your time than that. You have literally nothing to gain by stealing these posts. If this is what you’re wasting your time on then the moderators honestly don’t have to do anything, you’re already punishing yourself (not that the moderators shouldn’t do anything). You are effectively destroying your sense of what is valuable and what is meaningless. All I have to say is well played @SEPAH1IRANIAN, well played.
@Graingy I really enjoy fantasy (such as lotr), although I have read stories from different genres and enjoyed nearly all of them (assuming they aren't cheep pieces of trash). This is a side note, but one of my favorites is "The most dangerous game" by Richard Connell.
1. Ok that makes sense
2. Right
3. The description about the stars specifically is what made my attention start to wander, I found the "lore" (for lack of a better term) about how and why the machines came about and some of Sabrina's backstory to be intriguing and that part was what hooked me. And, as you noted, this is simply my preference, I’m sure there are plenty of people (maybe not on this website though lol) who would find that part about the stars incredibly interesting. Hope my feedback was helpful!
@Graingy I read it. I quite liked it (even though it isn't really my style). I do have a question though, that part at the beginning about the stars, is that to set up a possible sequel or just some extra detail or maybe to help you get into the mood of writing (which is what I often do when I write essays, begin with detail that leads into the rest of the paper to set it up), or something else? I found it to be a great setup although it definitely added a bit to the word count. I have a short attention span for short stories, so that detail at the beginning was a little much for me to read through without my attention wandering (it was well written, I’m just saying you almost lost me because of the "wordiness"). I'd give it an 8.6 out of 10 for a specific rating.
Edit: the length of the short story itself I think was totally fine, it's just that "intro part" (for lack of a better term) is a bit long. Once I got into the story itself I had no problems with my attention wandering, and I found it to be an interesting story
I read it. I like the lore, pretty decent story! Although some might see it as political (even though I see it as fiction) so... I don’t know just be careful 🤷♂️
also, the code names are cool "Poseidon's shield" and "Poseidon's trident" are pretty awesome names
@Graingy poor martian grain... at least you're not stuck in a constant state of confusion that will never end, like I am... also my head is kinda bashed in and I don’t remember when that happened
@Graingy highly unlikely, yet still within the realm of possibility. Although, if you look at it from a realistic point of view it has such a small chance of occurring it's almost unheard of. But then again, what do I know about statistics...
@Sandwichgott meme. Gorilla upvote meme. @RedeemedSPer Gorilla not have brain. Gorilla no get dementia.
+2@Graingy hehe... sorry
@Graingy who doesn't?
@Pakdaaircraftindustries The color with that gloss makes me think of darth Vader lol @Graingy I have no idea what you're talking about (I don’t play war thunder) but I saw the number 6 next to the number 7 and my brain became very displeased...
Will all these sounds be supported by Spatial Audio from fancy headphones and stuff?
Real.
+1@Rakoval500k true, but I’m just not accustomed to seeing a plane that’s so… flat on top lol
+1@Graingy Well... no comment.
@Graingy I don’t mind a little rambling, and I find this setting and the characters within it singularly intriguing. But that’s enough of that. There's some homework with my name on it I should probably get to work on... sigh
+1@Graingy understood. Sorry for my random (and often rather stupid) questions, just my curiosity and desire for clarification kicking in.

+1Not entirely sure what I’m looking at... but I like it! Although missing the vertical stabilizer totally threw me off

+1me realizing I said I don’t have any comments but then went on to type a short paragraph of questions
+1...
sigh

+1Sorry for your loss man. I love cats :(
+1SAUSAGE👍🌭
@Boeing727200F ayyyyyyy a fellow Californian, eh? Wish I could’ve seen the aurora borealis, but I’m too far south for that :(
If big bird were a plane:
+1Epic.
+2@Graingy indeed there is

My patience dwindles as the load time increases... I fear I am on the brink of insanity... I could use a banana right now...
Now it's slow again...? Curse you server gremlins!
+1Something fishy happened... I suspect server gremlins...
@ComradeSandman bro I kid you not I was about to post a forum about this exact thing when it just started randomly loading fast… I guess I shouldn’t complain but I don’t know what changed
Dang this thing is insane!
+2Interesting… I hadn’t ever heard of that ship… poor crew
@THATaviationdude lol 13 upvotes for a post like this is something I never would’ve expected, thanks!
Mmm butter 🧈

@Graingy what has this innocent reminder for a rock crawler challenge turned into...
@TheLoadingGorilla hold up, why is it italicized??
@Graingy insane hysterical laughter
@Graingy vroom vroom go boom. Nobody is safe.
