@ChickenMcNuggets007 Umm, you see a build like this, and all you have to say is "No cleavers?" One, there's nothing stopping you from adding whatever weapons you like, and two, try to be a bit more positive, OK?
@Phil2003 Well, as I said, I don't build exact replicas (because I like to think I have a higher purpose than being a copy machine), and speed is a part of that. I chose the two speeds (~1000 mph and ~3700 mph) for my flight module because I find them the best to get around in the SP sandbox. Occasionally I adjust them to suit the plane, but mostly I prefer to keep my flight model consistent across all my builds.
I don't see SP as a place to recreate all the limitations of real life, but something like the Matrix where we can surpass the limitations of real life.
You got the bit about details right, because I can think of few things more boring than constantly comparing blueprints/photos to my build, trying to match every single detail down to rivets. Again, I'm not a copy machine. I like to capture the essence of an aircraft.
As for landing gear, I don't find them worth the time and effort they take. Control surfaces using rotators often kill performance for no discernible reason, and I can't be bothered to figure out why. I have a choice: I could spend my time building lots of great designs, or I could build a lot fewer airplanes and waste time building essentially the same thing (landing gear) over and over again. To me, that's an easy choice.
@CRJ900Pilot Oh, and by the way, when your ears ring, that means some of your auditory nerves have just died. It may be fun, but you're causing irreversible hearing loss to yourself.
@CenturiVonKikie I did build a variable geometry something, though that's probably not what you're looking for. I might build a VG fighter at some point.
@Countache27 Er, that was a joke, I'm not actually afraid of landing gear. I stopped adding landing gear early on in my SP career because to me, they ruin the screenshots. I like the screenshots to show my planes in flight, not with landing gear sticking out of them. Also, before the 1.7.1 update, adding landing gear to a heavy build would make it wobbly. Now that that has a workaround, I might build some custom landing gear soon.
@DemonSniper8 A PC is to a mobile phone as an 18-wheeler is to a supermarket trolley, to coin a phrase. Have fun, and if you use that PC to learn something useful as well, soon you'll be able to afford a $3,500 PC... or a $35,000 car.
Outstanding. You can disable collisions on all parts to stop it exploding when you rotate the turret. Also, some instructions in the description would help.
@CRJ900Pilot I have. They affect flight performance negatively, so I don't consider them worthwhile, especially considering they're only used for a few seconds.
@Texasfam04 Don't put yourself down like that. Low-part-count Sled driver, maybe? :)
+1@Strikefighter04 Yup.
+1@ThePilotDude No apology needed, it's all good.
+1Thanks, @lolzxd23 @XjayIndustrys
+1@ChickenMcNuggets007 Umm, you see a build like this, and all you have to say is "No cleavers?" One, there's nothing stopping you from adding whatever weapons you like, and two, try to be a bit more positive, OK?
+1@ThomasRoderick No, it's my own design.
+1Thanks, @Alex0921
+1Thank you, @zoomzoomzoom
+1@ThomasRoderick No offence taken, I was just trying to clarify where I'm coming from.
+1@Spectre2520 Well, if it's any consolation, it's laggy on my beast of a PC as well.
+1@BaconRoll me too. The frat boy edition is called Broteus.
+1@Strikefighter04 Damn, the Korean war-era USAF totally stole my paint scheme. :)
+1@GhostHTX Of course. One of the better-handling helis I've tried on SP.
+1@GhostHTX Sure, it's a good build.
+1Thanks, @Texasfam04. I'm all about them curves :)
+1@SaturnV Thanks. Yeah, I remember your username. Welcome back.
+1@Countache27 Yakovlev Yak-28
+1@ThomasRoderick Shortened or beefed-up, depending upon how you look at it.

+1@Texasfam04 You mess with the bean cult at your own peril.
+1@ThomasRoderick Thanks. An I-16 is pretty much what you get if you compress a Gamma lengthwise, and make its wings stubbier.
+1@Cynister If butter was dark and metallic :)
+1Another clever build. Interesting gun arrangement. You should include a warning about the noise, though, especially when firing in cockpit view :)
+1Nice work. Flies well, too.
+1@FGW2014 Nope. You can't assign any input at all to a gun.
+1Thanks, @Sgtk

+1@Spectre2520 Yeah, I have an irrational fear of landing gear.
+1@RailfanEthan Maybe, but I think anything that makes it possible for more players to enjoy the game is a good thing.
+1@Kweed10 just build whatever you want, man.

+1@Texasfam04 Shhh
+1Thanks, @ThomasRoderick. This butterfly has a pretty good effect on targets.
+1Outstanding. You can disable collisions on all parts to stop it exploding when you rotate the turret. Also, some instructions in the description would help.
+1@DemonSniper8 Thanks. Don't worry, I have a curvy version of this lined up.
+1@CRJ900Pilot I have. They affect flight performance negatively, so I don't consider them worthwhile, especially considering they're only used for a few seconds.
+1@Roswell You're welcome.
+1@FGW2014 I KNOW RIGHT
+1@AvroPilot Easy there, it's going to happen, but not that quickly.
+1@AviownCorp For starters, yes. When you get better you can release the bomb higher. I've successfully dive-bombed the Beast from 20,000 feet.
+1Thanks, @DemonSniper8. It's the default map. The colors are because of my custom shader, and the ship locations have been adjusted using XML.
+1@BaconRoll
YesWeCan
That's what makes SimplePlanes so great...
+1@Pianoman no problem, you deserve it
+1Thanks, @Tang0five
+1Glad to hear that, @Jetliner101
+1@iLikeipads On Windows, you can press F10 for Challenger mode. But you like iPads...
+1@TheFlyingYak I think you missed this part:
+1@Chancey21 Here you go, this maneuverable enough for you? :)
