You know, nearly 5 years later, being the original author... I must ask... Did this simple question provide any valuable benefit to the development cycle at all?
@Graingy That sounds really rough... actually.
What PC specs are you running?
I did notice the recommended 16GB RAM is a huge jump from just 4GB. I'd imagine potato players are still trynna keep similar expectations with SP2.
The engine would be heckin expensive. Developing and maintaining it would probably be the IRL reason why the body with the engines are twice as cheap as a full unit
Or in other words, Your engine alone would cost the same as the entire airframe-Avionics and all. You'd actually just be better off doing what the F-35 did, but this is an interesting concept nonetheless!
Perhaps what I think would make for a sweet deal would be some sort of symmetrical F-35 engine- Swivelling on Both the front and back. It's also increasingly complex but the fine tuning it allows will be pretty advantageous.
@KPLBall yeahhh band lab mostly is not the best... Unless you want a simple soundtrack. This was made in bandlab... So see if it aligns with your interests.
@Graingy most of us thought so too but there was actually a good select few who came out of their comfort zone and tried to be programmers. That was nice to see.
@windshifter1 oh no, yours is done. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1vJo7OMbXGPuMGYWgSctCSw2IwVpVBaE7SBlyOLGMgT4/edit?usp=drives
Here. Or you could always just le click
I'm gonna ignore the joke about writing all of this being easy xD
@Dracul0Anderson oh!? I'd be happy to help in any way I can!
But maybe we should make it a yearly thing and wait till next year. That way We'll have a lot more time to prepare and plan. One of the biggest issues I had taking care of this challenge, was most of it wasn't exactly planned. After putting the challenge itself up on the sight, I kind of just went with the flow. Don't want that happening again, even though I personally have a knack for it.
Also.... this is a little bit of a selfish request. Can this challenge be remembered as one of the most ambitous challenges? I've put a lot of work into this... And i want atleast you participants to be talking and looking back on this challenge years down the line as a sort... Celebration of simpleplanes. it didn't FULLY hit the "celebration" part... but it gathered a large portion of the community together and got enough attention to rope in Dorain to sponsor it. It's been a ride and a half for me and this chapter of simpleplanes will soon be ending because of studies too. This might be my last endeavor here, and I would like to be remembered for more than just asking "Will there be simpleplanes 2". I want to be remembered for making something that will bring us all together to create a bit of excitement for simpleplanes 2. That was one of the big things after all. I wanted to this to be my send off to simpleplanes, in a way. i may make more of my own aircraft in the future, but the ambition and effort I put into this thing came from a special place. It's for genuinely all the love the place has given me all these years, People, mods, Andrew and the dev team themselves... SO in basic words, i want this challenge to be remembered as memento of love and dedication some player had for this really cool plane game. Can you guys do that for me?
@JBPAviation Here ya go. You can also go see the trophies I made them
@keiyronelleavgeek566 You seemed interested to see who wins as well. Hope you don't mind the ping! Thanks for the support, you two.
Those who's aircraft are mentioned above as judged can request the scores right now, makes my job easier.
Those who's is not done, You guys can tell me if you still want a full length doc or just highlights.
@SupremeDorian
Here's the final confirmation and the Direct links also provided to the builds. As for profile links, those are there in the pin comment.
I've been wondering about how these affect realism and ease of build. This isn't necessarily a development concern, it's more on the community... But I wonder if planes from Simpleplanes 2 that look as good as Simpleplanes 1 builds will be scrutinized.
Very clearly, these tools have gotten quite the ways more advanced here, and the parts look bloody amazing, which I believe we were told will be the next thing discussed on the discord (Go join it peeps, amazing place).

@MarkTheDesignGuy @TheCommentaryGuy @Randomplayer
Help her
@TheCommentaryGuy https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/4-----/Sarah
The wHole thing started jenuinely long before I even came On this site tho, you KNow?
@TheCommentaryGuy I didn't really announce one, Did I?
If I do decide to make one, you would know something is up, but you won't immediately pick up that it was me creating someone
@Randomplayer if you've got any friends, ask them about this. I need 5 people to show interest, or atleast 3 to begin chapter 1
@Randomplayer I already have a few ideas
color codes in the paint menu... first letters of parnt names...
locations in the game....
There is a lot to work with. It's a surprise no one has made one yet.
@TheMouse I'm glad to hear it!

(I was, I don't know about your PC specs.)
@Conjure76 You've reported that to the devs, at all?
@ComradeBazookaBall 😆
well, Welcome to 2026.
Too close for Fox shit, switching to pisseseseseseseseseses
@ComradeBazookaBall Multiplayer full of trolls already?

Unfortunately I'm pretty sure I'm already giving you 20 upvotes
This is am improvement... But also I seem to have found an excuse to get back in and do some small shenanigans in simpleplanes after a longggg time
@KPLBall no problem. Take your time. Heck, I'm busy with my own project and exams right now, but I should be ready to help within a week
@KPLBall I don't make music on payment basis. I make music if I think your vision is worth putting the time in.
@KPLBall yeahhh band lab mostly is not the best... Unless you want a simple soundtrack.
This was made in bandlab... So see if it aligns with your interests.
@Weebabyseamus
@philiptarpley
I've already started work on an interstate-like song for it as well
@AndrewGarrison
@WNP78
@hellfirekoder
Unfortunately you are WAYYY too late to have your submission considered
@Black0lizard make it a successor and upload it? I said I'll still be giving 20 upvotes to anyone who submits, btw.
@Black0lizard go ahead
@ToroInoue why so?
@ToeTips I'd love to do it for you guys! I can also probably make the trophies more custom
@ToeTips OH SHIT, SORRY. I'll fix that!
@Graingy most of us thought so too but there was actually a good select few who came out of their comfort zone and tried to be programmers. That was nice to see.

@Supersoli8 probably not. simpleplanes 2 aircraft will have parts that Simpleplanes 1 probably does not.

Early birds got the worms. And you gotta admit, these are some beautiful worms.
@ShiroNeko LOL,fair
My only suggestion is to slap a big anime girl on the thumbnail LOL
Oh my this thing is beautiful.
5 out of the 14 or so Aircraft have been judged.
Give me till June 16th for all the results
