@wahl it looks good, but as of now I can't confirm nor deny whether I'll be considering you in scores or not. I dunno if there'll be more people who make a non VTOL.
BUT I can say that it does look nice. Unfortunately, it's not very stealthy and does have much in terms of being VTOL too so it'll be difficult to score it highly. Good work with it though.
@32 I do speak English as my primary language at home... But I won't call myself anywhere close to a native English speaker. I still have a lot to learn.
@jamesPLANESii Both, your frustration with ads and response to "Don't watch them if you don't want to"
Is the fact that there is no proper opt-out. It's controlling. You can't close it off or block it.
For the argument of the don't watch shorts specifically, it's like saying if you don't want a youtuber showing up on your feed, just don't watch them. That idea doesn't help much unless you're in the top 1% of discipline. I'm opening an app to be entertained, not worried about how often I'm clicking on the YT shorts tab or controlling myself from tapping on a short.
@rexzion I have it, but it's only for the home page 😭
Shorts still show once you click on a video. It is sooooooo weird.... Still I'm going to have to admit a mistake here. The more I'm letting it simmer, the more I'm realising that "campaigning" is honestly coming across as delusional now... There's not much you can actually hold them accountable for because they'll have a lot of statements ready to retaliate.
I'll change the title of this post to be a little less ragey... My apologies to everyone.
Nevermind. I just realised that apparently there is a way to "show fewer shorts on home".
Apologies for the oversight.
It should be stated that this is still not an opt-out... But it definitely seems like YouTube knew someone like me would try.
Surprisingly, the legal citations here that I mention still hold up... So I don't think I have to change much. Again though, I am not a lawyer. I'm merely suggesting that there is Potentially an accessibility problem here which is because there is a lack of opt-in/opt-out.
Nevermind. I just got confirmation that I can properly announce this.
This challenge is now aided by the community manager. The other prizes are largely the same, however, the following changes will now be put into action!
First place can still expect the current prizes, only now, they will receive exactly 2500 Points Instead of the current 120 upvotes). This means the winner enjoys 170 upvotes given immediately after announcing them as them winner. (I do actually think this is like, the biggest prize on the entire site till date. XD)
Second Place, along with the current prizes for Simpleplanes 2 and the video feature, will now be getting 100 upvotes (!!!!) instead of 50, in the form of 1500 points handed straight to them once they are announced as second place!
Third place now earns 70 upvotes instead of 30 in the form of 1000 points given straight to them by the time they are announced as the 3rd place.
lastly, the challenge will now be pushed to 23rd May to accomodate for the rather massive changes and also perhaps give a push for previous potential contenders to have a go at it!
Participations awards remain completely untouched, although, I am hoping to see some really cool planes too when I open your profile. You may or may not have noticed but I've given more than promised to those participating because I genuinely simply thought they made some cool builds!
__
Lastly, on a more personal note. Thank you, for making this possible. Really, thank you so much. I hope I'm not being overdramatic but this one of the few things I've wanted to do since forever. I've always wanted to bring a community together for not just a challenge, but a celebration.
A massive thanks to our awesome Community Manager, @SupremeDorian who coordinated with me to make the challenge reach newer heights with this change. I mean... Nearly 200 upvotes is a massive prize.
I also want to thank the Jundroo team and the devs for working hard for years upon years to make the game that served as the platform for this challenge. Not only that, but let us play a game that served as a creative outlet and gave us a community of love and support throughout a decade long journey, which, by the way, a decade later and it's still going stronger than ever, with hype around Simpleplanes 2.
And lastly, a heartfelt thank you for all the support. I haven't said it enough, it'll have to be its own separate post.... I love you all. Thank you for making all of this possible. I am eternally grateful to the Simpleplanes community for this.
@AndrewGarrison I have a favor to ask... I need help with something big that's in progress right now.
Is there any way I can connect with you/mods/anyone who kind of makes big decisions over at jundroo?
@ToeTips now if you say that making a better generation than what already is the current best is hard, then congratulations, you figured out the point of the challenge. There's 15 days and 10 hours left, I personally think of the few people I've interacted with, your among the ones I think have a fair shot, or at the very least, an exciting new build for everyone to check out.
Then there's also the plus point that whatever submissions come here gets automatically sent to a group discord with 8 members.
And I've been thinking of something else... I don't think I can publicly talk about that one at all just yet though.
@ToeTips doesn't matter. The Changes required from 5th to 6th gen is...
Well
Make a better 5th gen... That's... That's actually all. Also, maybe cut the vertical tail for coolness factor...
@ToeTips handed out the participation award for that. Noticed it's quite far from the current criteria, focusing mostly on Flight perfomance only in forward flight and not really a stealth design or 6th gen like. Will you just keep it at this or do you think you want to give it a few changes here and there? Because you're clearly VERY experienced with Stealthy designs when it comes to planform alignment and so on (I personally actually thought your advanced hornet would've gotten you a better chance provided it had VTOL and cut the vertical stabilizers).
Either way, your current submission is really good as a stand alone plane, but it has a lot of potential changes you can quickly make to recover a lot of points that you might currently lose. (I'm really only telling you this because you seem like you can actually take a fair shot at a podium position or atleast be a runner up)
@UltravioletBlood @TheMouse @wahl
BIGGG update and changes. You have helpful forum posts now linked along with some links to a sources and stuff. There's also now a countdown and an update to the rules and style. Im circulating this post again now. Around 15 days lefts, let's see what people can pull of with all the new help as well.
@wahl you'll lose a few points for not being stealth under D3 and B1, But no, other than a few points lost, there is no problem if it isn't stealth and you are confident the other ability can make up for it
To support this, certain types of warfare can still make things like close rang maneuvering prove vital. The SU-57, though highly controversial due to competition, is undoubtedly better than most 4.5 gens and outdoes them. There's a reason why it exist, granted in small numbers. So yeah
@Wasifhero3 @Dracul0Anderson You two seemed like you'd be interested in the new criteria updates. If there's any questions regarding them, please let me know!
(the new pinned comments has some rough details)
Some major visual changes. more coming soon. Minor changes to criteria wording but it all means mostly the same thing so no deadline updates. helpful websites will be linked soon.
@windshifter1 sorry for replying late, been a little busy. I have discord up for those who volunteered to help.LE click to join or friend request me @galaxiesdontsleep That is if you have discord. If not, i'll just keep you in the loop using the comments here. Recently because of 6 other volunteers, not considering you, I was able to raise the bar to 120 upvotes and 5 spotlights (the spotlights are tentative. We don't yet know if we can pull that one off.)
@wahl true. Very true. Winning is kind of a lucky thing to be honest, what this really is, what I am trying to do here is make onle last swan song for a game that kept me company for over half a decade.
@Wasifhero3 it has to be a fighter if you want a chance to earn points because a lot of categories here are for a military aircraft. Read them.
There's no exception for civilian aircraft in the rules, so you can technically go ahead and do that... You'll get your 20 upvotes from me... But it'll stand out. I'll be uploading some helpful tools at 20 days left to aid in development and speed things up a little.
@Dracul0Anderson I had not even originally thought about spotlights. I think it's 1 spotlight per 5 minutes. It's doable for me. I think 4-8 spotlights just from me is possible for the main prize... Provided I can actually do that.
@Graingy again, true. At the end of the day, the super hard challenge is meant for those who want to test their experience.
The easy challenge is mustering up the courage to make and submit something and get some value out of it... And maybe hype up simpleplanes two a little. This is likely going to be the last big challenge for Simpleplanes 1
@Graingy huh? If you have sub assemblies that you can take from your own previous planes that already have the complex spaghetti codes already written (Exhibit A - Controls surfaces, Engines, cockpit setups) then that's going to save you shit ton of time.
@Graingy fair point on that, one again. But I've thinking about criteria based prizes too... So if you're one particular category is good, then a bonus of 30 upvotes, so 50. But I can't confirm that yet
@DeeganWithABazooka GO ALL ON BROTHER. LET'S SEE WHAT YOU GOT.
Also, I'm probably going to revamp this page a little to look better and account for all those spelling errors.
No major changes in rules and regulations though.
@Dracul0Anderson nope. That's going to be its own thing. I want to make this for discussion with upvoted boards, a place for players to share progress and maybe chat a little after the challenge ends and the anticipation for the results build. The forum post that will cover the strengths and weaknesses is going to be independent.
@MobileBuilder21 we definitely need to have discussions on discord or something along those lines about all of this. I believe other than me, there's 3 others who want in on whatever is going on to because they'll be helping with Upvotes.
😳
This is nice. How'd you "wall around" the car?
@wahl it looks good, but as of now I can't confirm nor deny whether I'll be considering you in scores or not. I dunno if there'll be more people who make a non VTOL.
BUT I can say that it does look nice. Unfortunately, it's not very stealthy and does have much in terms of being VTOL too so it'll be difficult to score it highly. Good work with it though.
@Numbers2 you press
~
on PC and on Android... Well I don't know if it's there on Android. But you you can use text labels as temporary debug@hpgbproductions agreed. It's also just suspect to me that the home page hiding thing isn't for everyone.
@32 I do speak English as my primary language at home... But I won't call myself anywhere close to a native English speaker. I still have a lot to learn.

@Graingy I'm putting it everywhere. It's still just a forum post though.
Nevermind. I just realised that apparently there is a way to "show fewer shorts on home".

@Nuugett You'll lose a few points. That's all.

@X99STRIKER it is. Thank you. Any name with a striker instantly sounds cool too. Even better if it's a brother who's kind like that xD
Just Tagged everyone who volunteered with the help or was interested in me making a discord.

@ToeTips lucky you then... But once again, that's 1/4th points gone.
Still, I wish you the best, brother. Im excited to see the final result!
@ToeTips post that, and get no points in D4 and B2. So 200 points Nerf :>
@Dracul0Anderson I had not even originally thought about spotlights. I think it's 1 spotlight per 5 minutes. It's doable for me. I think 4-8 spotlights just from me is possible for the main prize... Provided I can actually do that.
@Dracul0Anderson before you get around uploading it, pass it over as an unlisted to me so I can take some pictures for you.

@Graingy or lots of saved sub assemblies... Which I actually don't discourage taking sub assemblies at all and doesn't affect points in any way.
@FordEscort id love to join in and help on the videos if that ever happens. Could make some reallllyyyy cool shots
@Graingy fair point on that, one again. But I've thinking about criteria based prizes too... So if you're one particular category is good, then a bonus of 30 upvotes, so 50. But I can't confirm that yet
@Graingy good point... But you get repaid in me taking time judge your craft and credit you for what you did good, and criticise what can be better
@Graingy who said?
You can make a really bad plane and get 20 upvotes for basically free AND get criticism... What are you losing?
@DeeganWithABazooka GO ALL ON BROTHER. LET'S SEE WHAT YOU GOT.
Also, I'm probably going to revamp this page a little to look better and account for all those spelling errors.

@TheUltimatePlaneLover all the best! Excited to see what you come up with.
@TheBoeingEngineer Wrong. There are 5 other actual people who'll help with the upvotes
@Dracul0Anderson nope. That's going to be its own thing. @MobileBuilder21 we definitely need to have discussions on discord or something along those lines about all of this. I believe other than me, there's 3 others who want in on whatever is going on to because they'll be helping with Upvotes.
first update :
Considering discord server for the challenge.
@DeeganWithABazooka welp, np. I'd say give it a try, there is nothing to lose. Everyone wins 20 upvoted and gets insight about their submission.
