Get a torpedo, a fuselage block, gyroscope, and detacher. Have the fuselage be 0.25 cubed and between the detacher and torpedo. Put the gyroscope on one of the sides and rotate it. Do some nudging so the block and gyro are inside the torpedo. Just remember to use activation groups instead of "launch weapons"

Best community on the interwebs. If you have the ability to download mods, installing overload and fine tuner will make life a lot easier. The built in nudge system can be a little iffy at times, and that's what fine tuner can help with. Overload can help tweak parts, small stuff like gun colors, activation groups, speeds, etc.
If you have the over load mod or can .xml edit, you can set the input for ailerons to VTOL and have flaps
