  • Fully functional ILS (Proof-of-concept) 3.8 years ago

Just came back to here to look at something.
    .
I too hope SP will someday add a turnable nob. For now, I've used magnets and rotators with buttons to make a similar equivalent.
    .
I do have a question - I'm planning on integrating your ILS into the displays in the cockpit of my SWL-120, and I was wondering - how many decimal points does my input system need to be able to be fine-tuned to? Currently it's .5 of a number, but does it need to be any more?
    .
Also, is there any way to easily change the glideslope? I really think 5-7 degrees is good for SP, even though 3 is the norm for IRL.

@edensk It just seems like it's a little shallow.

  • Variable wing 3.9 years ago

I just logged on now as well and noticed the tutorial Imgur images have been fixed (they show up now) I really appreciate your efforts to keep a great mod great and keep the tutorial available. This mod has just the right amount of customization for wings. Not too much where I spend 1 hour making 1 part, yet not too little where I can't even change it. While there is a fuselage slicing thing to make wings of a similar shape in vanilla now, I will stick with these wings because my planes are pretty high part count anyway, so most mobile users wouldn't have access anyway.

    Thank you for updating this!

@MOPCKOEDNISHE Thank you so much! Here is one of my projects with this amazing mod.

Is this the same color bug with the variable wings? I just love Variable Wings and don't want to stop using it.

@MrSilverWolf This, This, This, and This, just to name a few.

@zwen Using the frequency switch is fine. Make sure to credit me.

  • DONE WITH THE HEMMER EV. 3.9 years ago

The RTX 2980 doesn't exist. I guess you mean 2080?
    .
It's 100% the drag. Deactivate all but a few big structural parts.

  • ILS testbed 3.9 years ago

I just got around to testing it,
    .
It's very nice! And one part as well... Very useful for making detailed, low part count cockpits.
    .
I found the glideslope code to be bugged, is this still in development?
    .
Localizer code looks nice. I really like the inclusion of DME. I am going to do that on mine.
    .
On further inspection of the variables, I can see yours is very different to mine. The way I did mine was of course trigonometry, but differently. I don't think I fully explained it in my SP let's plays, but my ILS post should help a bit.
    .
I've tagged you on the latest version of the SWL-10 (unlisted, please don't share blablabla) so you can try that out and poke around in the variables. I recommend you explore the variables in a text editor or similar. The checklist on the left side of the captain's seat has all the instructions, I would provide labelled diagrams on the cockpit controls on the final post. Note the APP (Autopilot Approach Mode) isn't working yet, but I'm getting there. Use the button/switch tooltips in combination with the checklist to fly.

  • Fully Functional ILS + Make Your Own 3.9 years ago

@zwen I am interested in a collaboration, just not right now as I'm really busy with school, finishing structural parts of a plane, going on a trip ect. So maybe in a few weeks.
    .
That HUD looks amazing! I would like to use it in my SWL-120, which will be similar to the 787.

  • SPVR cockpit "guide" 3.9 years ago

I am making a checklist someone can pick up and read within the cockpit.
    .
Is SPVR still taxing on the CPU, or is it also GPU?

I guess this is open source. I'll post some other files from the development stage later.

@Amazingaviator12 Ok, This plane is called the SWL-10, and I'll tag you on its release.

  • Fully Functional Autopilot! 3.9 years ago

@edensk Thanks! I actually think the same thing, and am thinking about some code that has more algebra and goes from x to y when z greater than s etc. I probably won't do that in my let's play videos, just off camera. The code for just this is about two paragraphs long. I made heavy use of the variables system.

  • Fully Functional Autopilot! 3.9 years ago

    @JohnHorton Thankyou!
    .
The plane used in the video is currently in devlopment, but you can request a tag for when the plane is out.

  • SimplePlanes Multiplayer 3.9 years ago

I have a bug now. I updated the mod, and deleted the old one, and it gave me this warning when I enabled the new one. This warning never showed up in the last version:

Warning: Mod 'SimplePlanes Multiplayer' attempted to load assembly 'Assets/ModAssessts/SimplePlanesMultiplayer-Assembly-CSharp.dll.bytes' but a different version of assembly 'SimplePlanesMultiplayer-Assembly-CSharp, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' was already loaded by another mod.

  • Working ILS In SimplePlanes! 3.9 years ago

@jamesPLANESii I'm planning on making a Python script where you input the runway threshold coordinates, specify the heading of the runway, and it spits out the code. But that will take a while.

    Also thanks for the spotlight!

  • I Like Variables 3.9 years ago

@klm747klm747 Thanks! There are even more updates than I have publicly announced. There are more rivets, and the four radios can now be increased and decreased with clicks, not toggles. It also loops to 0 when it reaches 200. I'm planning on using this to control which localizer(s) the plane can read. The landing gear (Funky code) is also partially installed.

  • Working ILS In SimplePlanes! 3.9 years ago

@klm747klm747 I know - I am going to work on Yeager (and other airports with a heading other than 0) a bit later.
