Now you see, people fix value to an item or service based on availability and demand.
The greater the demand exceeds the availability, the greater the value.
As your currency is backed by gold, we have essentially destroyed its value.
Need an example? King Musa I of the prosperous empire of Mali once went on the traditional hajj that all Muslims must do if they are able to make the journey. As the wealthiest man to ever walk the Earth, he could certainly afford to do so, and did so in great extravagance, with a caravan of thousands of guards, porters, servants, and slaves.
In the journey, he spent so much gold that in the areas he traveled, he inadvertently destroyed the local economy by spending so much gold.
This, I am afraid, is what you just did.
However, the damage Musa I inflicted was temporary. When he realized what he did, he decided to buy back all the gold by borrowing it and paying with incredibly high interest rates.
Through this, he was able to recover much of the gold so as to allow gold to regain its value.
Unfortunately, you seem to have rendered gold, your currency, almost worthless. Permanently.
@MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation
@GoldenEagle @SimpleTechAndResearch @PINK The Paternian Republic is proud to announce that quantum physicists at Columbia University have successfully developed a practical and economical means of altering atomic makeup without nuclear fusion or fission through dark matter.
This means we can literally throw your trash inside and turn it into gold.
As of now, it is incapable of casting said materials in a particular shape, but can produce raw materials.
Which means the first thing we will do is mass produce lots of gold and silver in order to destroy the Awwami economy.
@LeHoneyBadger @SimpleTechAndResearch If any of your currencies are backed by anything, I suggest to get it off now.
I'm about to deal some pretty powerful, and permanent economic damage to any currency that is backed by anything. Like, the ability to produce precious metals at will through dark matter atomic reorganization.
@LeHoneyBadger Yeah, but they're also communists, and you can't be picky on who your allies are when you're not exactly in the favor of Awwam. They're neutral regarding the issue of Japan. Even though the Hukbalap and IRA are allies, neither are obligated to back the other up against opponents other than the GLA, Ansar al-Islam, the EAC, and Awwam.
The Hukbalap, while anti-Japanese, does not support the Awwami invasion, simply because Awwam is at the head, and they view Awwam as a greater threat than Japan.
@GoldenEagle Add the ARI (Armee Rouge Internationale, or International Red Army) as a new, pro-communist group that opposes the GLA. It is not related to the Chinese Red Army or the Hukbalap, although all three operate closely.
Compared to weapons such as the 76mm M1, the Soviet ZiS-S-53, the Soviet ZiS-2, and the British Ordnance QF 17-pounder, I believe the best of the bunch was the 76mm M1, and that's not due to American bias.
The American 76mm M1 was known for its power and accuracy. None of these guns, save for the 17-pounder firing APDS, could penetrate the front of a Jagdtiger or King Tiger. However, wartime APDS was incredibly inaccurate; it was only until after the war did they manage to make an APDS round that was accurate.
In the meantime, the 90mm M3 (which I didn't add, because it's comparable to the 8,8 cm KwK 36 L/56 on the Tiger) could penetrate the front of a Jagdtiger with HVAP, and was available for use on the M36 tank destroyer and later, the M26 Pershing heavy tank.
I think the main strength of the Sherman was the American insistence on reliability and ergonomics.
Reliability was a given. The drivetrain and suspension of the M4 could be traced back to the M2 Medium Tank, from the 1930's. This gave a LOT of time for R&D to make it work.
@TemDesBur There was the proposed Panzer IV K, which had 80mm of sloped frontal armor, like a Panther. This actually save lots of weight in the design and added lots of internal space, but was never adopted.
@TemDesBur Of note about Panther development, it was between three designs by Damiler-Benz, Krupp, and Maschienfabrik Augsburg-Nurnberg AG, or MAN, in the VK 20 program. When this became the VK 30 program after encountering the T-34 and KV-1, Krupp dropped out.
Heinz Guderian ordered a special commission on the study of the T-34, which considered the 76.2mm medium-velocity gun, the sloped armor, and wide tracks to be the most important features.
The Benz design looked like a Teutonized T-34, where the MAN design was more conventional. After trials, where various commissions would favor one design over the other, Hitler decided to go with the MAN design, since it used an existing turret design by Rheinmetall Borisg.
This time-saving measure would prove to be the downfall of the design process, as during the process, Albert Speer noted that although given the name "Panther" to denote agility, Hitler insisted bigger guns and better armor, which brought the weight from 30 tons to 48 tons.
@TemDesBur It's also part of the reason why the Germans lost Kursk.
Hitler delayed the offensive to allow the Panther to see combat. This gave the Soviets time to create one of the best counter to blitzkrieg; defenses in depth.
Also, note that every Storytime with the Pilot is based on real events. In the case of the Cursed Soldiers of the 245th, it was based off the Third German assault on Osoweic Fortress in WWI, and the actions of the survivors of the 13th Company of the 226th Division stationed to defend the fortress. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation
It would have absolved you of all responsibility and made it very clear that you did everything to clear up a misunderstanding. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation
I was planning to destroy the Arabian economy through the manufacture of gold, which would destroy the value of his gold-backed currency.
Turns out, he already did that for me. @GoldenEagle
In fact, you have implied it is gold.
Now you see, people fix value to an item or service based on availability and demand.

No army, in this story.
Your navy was pretty decisively defeated in this battle. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation
It's winter camouflage. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation
Lets have an economics lesson. Firstly, your Gold Dihram is by, what I assume, is backed by gold, right? @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation
Offline.
@SimpleTechAndResearch Tokyo survived unscathed.
Osaka, Nagoya, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Kyoto, and Yokohama, among others, have been leveled.

Spoiler alert.
@SimpleTechAndResearch Awwam is invading Japan because they think that a neutral nation minding its own business is a major threat to Awwami security.
I mean, the Paternians did cause plenty of damage.
@LeHoneyBadger Yeah, but they're also communists, and you can't be picky on who your allies are when you're not exactly in the favor of Awwam. They're neutral regarding the issue of Japan. @MikuKat I think he saw you as a threat when you said "My navy was the biggest in the RP."
@DankDorito RIP.
I suppose the ARI could do something about it.
@GoldenEagle Add the ARI (Armee Rouge Internationale, or International Red Army) as a new, pro-communist group that opposes the GLA. It is not related to the Chinese Red Army or the Hukbalap, although all three operate closely.
There's 417 parts.
You lied...
But honestly, great build!
@TemDesBur Yeah.

Lovely plane!
@JakeTheDogg Because you know, power to proletariat masses?
Collective ownership of the means of production?
And I see that the Lanzarrian Conglomerate is a communist nation.
@TemDesBur That too.
I think the main strength of the Sherman was the American insistence on reliability and ergonomics.

My F-9C can beat Awwami fighters in a turnfight WITH missiles strapped to the wings.
@Mudkip I'm helping the commies, bruddah!
@JakeTheDogg Join me in the Second Communist Revolution!
@1gman4evr rip Sharky.
@TemDesBur I know.

@TemDesBur That too.
@TemDesBur It was designed with one simple goal: be better than the Panzer III and Panzer IV.
That's all they had to do.
@TemDesBur It's also part of the reason why the Germans lost Kursk.
Hitler delayed the offensive to allow the Panther to see combat. This gave the Soviets time to create one of the best counter to blitzkrieg; defenses in depth.
@TemDesBur Right.
@MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation I may not be the best engineer or theologian, but I do know my history.
Just saying. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation

Well that explains a lot. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation
Love how you deflect all responsibility to me. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation
Our Navy is no longer in the Sea of Japan.
You attacked a neutral nation, we backed them up, and @ArrowDart withdrew.
