As mentioned, the 40mm HEP grenade and the M29 adhesive bomb did not penetrate the suit. Many suits were found to be operable after an attack.

However, the blast would often cause severe physical trauma due to the force delivered. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation

  • Command and Conquer RolePlay S2: A New Union, With New Goals, In a New World + Mini Stories 9.1 years ago

    Not really.

It's more refined. From tactics such as harassment bombing (so your soldiers can't sleep) to thinks like "the curse", where several soldiers are "cursed" to watch their friends die horrible but mysterious deaths at the hands of Paternian Rangers. To maintain the mystery, if they suspected that they were "cursed" then they would also die a horrible but mysterious death, and "the curse" would move to someone else. It was like living in a horror movie, except the killer is not destroyed.

In addition, rumors were planted both in the front and at home about the infidelity of their loved ones. Many innocent women were stoned to death because of this. These communications would be faked so well that it was impossible to determine whether they have been tampered.

    There's more. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation

By stating the GLA is under your supervision, you have implied that the GLA is your proxy, and you have already stated that you are the main supplier of the GLA.

The ARI is more independent in its grand strategy. Although the Paternian Republic does not have any official connections with the ARI, many political leaders have expressed support for their cause.

Do they have Paternian-made weapons? Yes. Does this mean we are actively supplying them? No. Weapons such as the M18 assault rifle and A-1 Pummeler are incredibly common weapons worldwide. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation

  • Command and Conquer RolePlay S2: A New Union, With New Goals, In a New World + Mini Stories 9.1 years ago

@MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation Because they know your army can be defeated.

Before, your armies ran amok, conquering who they pleased. Now, the North American campaigns have proven otherwise.

Time and time again, the Paternian Army, adopting conventional tactics supported by Rangers using unconventional tactics, the Paternian Air Force, and the Paternian Navy where possible, have repeatedly repulsed Awwami attacks. The Awwami attacks which did succeed did so at heavy cost, and the force was usually forced to retreat since they would be unable to hold any gains. The vaunted quake cannons proved vulnerable to Paternian Scout Rangers with thermite or low-level fighter strikes by the Paternian Air Force.

The Awwami power armor suits, touted as rendering the operator immune to infantry weapons, were easily penetrated by Paternian riflemen and snipers issued with APLJ ammunition. In addition, they were easily knocked out by 40mm HEP grenades and M29 adhesive anti-tank bombs from a century and a half ago. While these suits were not penetrated by the blast, the shockwave was sufficient to cause significant damage to the operator underneath, especially if the gut, head, or limbs are hit. Commanders would note the cries of mercy from within the suits after being stricken by these weapons, which they would kill them out of mercy.

In addition, the Paternian Air Force was able to establish air superiority over its territory. The Pummeler and the Anvil posed unique challenges for Awwami air defenses, as they could operate from many of the same places as helicopters could, and were twice as fast than said helicopters. This unpredictable nature of the Pummeler and Anvil's deployment forced the Awwami Army to operate under the cover of darkness and in dense areas, where at least they could be hidden if a Pummeler comes along.

The Paternian Navy's North America blockade was a further sign of weakness. The ships were by all means in international waters, and had every right to be there. Awwami skippers, knowing full well of the Paternian Navy's devastating anti-shipping campaign, decided to not test the blockade. The Awwami Navy in the port remained in their docks throughout.

Our ships were on "Second Move" orders, meaning that they will not fire upon vessels unless they acted aggressively (such as refusing to comply with Paternian Navy instructions or firing at them). Your choices were to either engage the warships, which would start a war with a neutral n

  • Command and Conquer RolePlay S2: A New Union, With New Goals, In a New World + Mini Stories 9.1 years ago

@GoldenEagle Can you also change the acronym of the Armee Rouge International to ARI?

Also, give them 41 million supporters, mostly in their country of origin, France. Their leaders are Pierre and Renee al-Ajlani, a brother and sister pair. Ethnically Moroccan, they were born to Moroccan parents, grew up as Muslims, and were raised in France, and later studied in Salish universities, where Pierre studied engineering at the University of Casablanca and Renee studied business with a minor in politics at the University of Tangiers. There, they both became liberals, with a more positive view of the Paternian Republic.

Pierre would drop out of college in order to join the Paternian Army of North Africa, reaching the rank of sergeant in the artillery corps and serving with distinction. Renee continued her studies, becoming increasingly attracted to left-wing ideology. Concerned with this trend, her parents called her back to France.

Her parents had her married off, thinking a stable, Islamic marriage would "realign" her. However, this drove her further to the left, and within three months, divorced him.

Renee would later find employment as a clerk, and through casual conversation, found that many of the white French did not like the harsh imposition and enforcement of Sharia Law. She petitioned the Governor of Toulon to soften the imposition and enforcement of said law on the people, who are Muslims because of the threat of violence.

She was imprisoned for life, but served six months before she escaped by starting a prison riot. Many of the prisoners were inside for political crimes, like her, and with her leadership, overpowered the guards, stole their weapons, and started a revolution.

In the meantime, Pierre has moved to Paternia after his army service, and was beginning to settle down with his new wife when he heard of his sister. He realized that she has in fact started a revolution, and felt obligated to help. However, he knew he could not return to France, so decided to help her by raising awareness of her cause, bringing in millions dollars worth of funds as well as former Army veterans to help the cause. He considered joining them, but was requested by his sister to stay back in order to draw further support in Paternia, Lanzarria, and Sals.

Also, they have a lot of popular support within our nation on all levels, making any activity against the ARI a highly unpopular move. It is no secret that most of the material and funds come from Paternia.

@picy Nobody (until now) was spotlighting it.

  • Hanbury Aircrafts F-43 Hammerhead 9.1 years ago

@Mudkip Also, we don't have dedicated interceptors. The Paternian Air Force apporach to fighters is to have a dual-purpose aircraft, one that can both defend air space from bombers as well as challenge fighters in air combat.

This is due to a contest to develop both a heavy fighter, air superiority fighter, and interceptor for the Paternian Air Force. While Dragot Aeronautics (now Dragot Aerospace) and Paternian Defense Industries, or PDI, submitted both heavy fighter, air superiority, and interceptor designs, Bandit Aircraft Group made a bold move and made an aircraft that will fulfill all roles. This aircraft was based off the Bandit Aircraft Group M.22 mail plane, which featured the T2000 radial, an engine once thought to be only suitable for larger aircraft.

The aircraft, known as T-14, was christened the Pummeler. The Pummeler, powered by the T2000, was clearly an impressive aircraft. While the interceptors had 3-5 guns (two in the nose, one through the propeller hub, and two in the wings, or a combination thereof) and the air superiority fighters had 2-3 guns (two in the nose, and one through the propeller hub), the Pummeler had eight guns in the wings. Heavy fighters typically had six guns in the nose, which were more powerful due to their concentration.

However, the Pummeler, without modification between roles, performed well in all three roles. While not the best air superiority type, interceptor, or heavy fighter, it was the only design which had good performance in all three roles. Its combination of firepower, performance, and maneuverability made it the most versatile fighter in the arsenal. Realizing the power of this versatility, the PAF accepted the T-14 as the F-2.

In combat, the F-2 Pummeler formed the backbone of the Paternian Republic's air forces during many of its early conflicts. It proved decisive in securing Paternian victory against enemy fighters, as it frequently outgunned and outperformed them. However, the type soon became obsolete as a fighter, as jet-powered fighters began to show their potential. However, the life of the Pummeler was not over, for during the wars, it proved to be an excellent ground attack warplane. Given additional armor and bomb racks, it was redesignated A-1. And the rest is history.

  • Stories from Katipunia: The Incident at KAL Flight 868 9.1 years ago

@MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation The ARI (remember, it's the Armee Rouge International in French, therefore it is ARI), is very much present in France and European Awwam in general, mostly because they are taking advantage of 70 years of forced conversions. In areas which they occupy, the ARI have reluctantly executed imams, who were viewed by the people as agents of the Awwami caliphate. Burqas and niqabs have been burned in the streets or turned into swimsuits.

Now, the GLA has virtually no presence in Paternia due to the fact most of the people are not Muslim, and that the Muslims who do live here are the North African Muslims from Sals or Chinese Muslims from Korea, many who fought bravely for our side.

The latter we forgot to mention. Chinese Muslims, although never forming a majority in any unit, were also great fighters as well. They were often called "Kansu" after the region they came from, as well as after the Kansu Braves, who fought with distinction during the Boxer Rebellion and Chinese Civil War.

During the Boxer Rebellion, the Kansu Braves were a unit of Chinese Muslims who were loyal to the empress, and although wore traditional Chinese uniforms, were armed with the latest western weaponry.

They were so good during their combat against the 8-Power Alliance (USA, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Russia, Austria-Hungary, and Japan) that the Kaiser of Germany went to the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire to ask if there was anything in the Koran that they can use to get them to stop fighting (there wasn't). However, the Kansu Braves were eventually overwhelmed by the armies of the 8-Power alliance, though made quite the impression upon them.

@MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation Remember, smart conquerors who don't impose their ways on the conquered through force will have empires that last for centuries.

Stupid conquerors who impose their ways on the conquered through force will have empires that may not last a generation.

  • Command and Conquer RolePlay S2: A New Union, With New Goals, In a New World + Mini Stories 9.1 years ago

@MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation And most of the others didn't.

Because smart conquerors let people be as they were, as long as they pay the conquerors a reasonable tax. Usually, the conquered will adopt the ways of the conqueror through choice, and sometimes the conqueror will adopt some of the ways of the conquered.

The best example of the latter was the Romans. Their pantheon of gods was immense, due to the adoption of other deities alongside the traditional and Greek deities. Cults regarding said deities were commonplace. Later, they would adopt Christianity, with some changes of course.

Christianity did undoubtedly influence Islam to some extent, as Jesus (as Isa ibn Maryam, or Jesus, son of Mary) is given special mention, and the concept that Mary conceived Jesus as a virgin (and retained that status) was retained. Also comes mention of people like Abraham. Which is probably why Jews and Christians, while not considered as good as Muslims, are above the other pagan groups.

It's also why Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are considered "Abrahamic religions", since all three believe that Abraham was a prophet of God.

People tend to hold onto their religions tightly. Greece, for example, is a very Christian nation despite the centuries under Ottoman rule. Or India, which is largely Hindu, despite the centuries of British rule. Or Indonesia, which is largely Muslim, despite centuries of Dutch rule.

Now, unless you forced everyone to convert through force like what Spain did to all the Muslims during the Reconquesta, had millions of Muslim settlers move into France, or did a lot of missionary work (which I doubt would succeed, given France's incredibly strong Christian traditions), I do not see how the population of France would be converted so easily.

Remember, ethnic groups can hold grudges against other groups for centuries, such as the Greeks and Turks. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation

It's not necessarily a criticism of Islam itself. Every religion has faults. But we mostly criticize the means which you imposed laws.

The best empires almost never impose their ways on the people. That is how Rome, Britian, and the Ottomans grew so powerful. Basically, what they did was say "We have conquered you. We will allow you to live as you did before as long as you pay your taxes to us." And the people agreed. And the people would adopt the ways of the conqueror by nature, knowing that doing so is the fastest way to advance one's position in this new society.

And although they would often retain their religion, they would adopt the ways of the conqueror.

I remember a war veteran who is a leader in my Boy Scout troop state that one time when he was in Vietnam, there were visiting Indian Army officers. Although they wore turbans, both of them had swagger sticks tucked under their arm and trotted along like British officers. I believe to this day, Pakistan uses English common law for criminal courts, although Sharia is sometimes used for civil courts.

I'm not sure if North Africans outnumbered native Frenchmen. Can we establish that the North Africans are not exactly the biggest fans of your caliphate?

Many were raised in Sals, and happily grew up in a secular society. No doubt they were told about Muhammad, his teachings, his life, and his military campaigns. And your people know they are indeed devout Muslims, especially during the bloodless occupation of Ramadi during Rising Storm.

But many North Africans saw your theocracy a threat to the secular society which they believe in. And when Sals declared neutrality, many wanted to stop them, and subsequently, hundreds of thousands joined the Paternian Armed Forces. The North African troops, deployed around the world, were some of our best soldiers and were known for their dedication, discipline, and fighting ability. In Rising Storm, Berber motorized cavalry in jeeps and Seeker scout cars (they actually LIKED the Seeker, and retained it in their arsenal over its replacements) outmaneuvered the slower Awwami armored divisions sent to engage them and sowed destruction to logistics units, causing much psychological damage.

And also note that just because they learned to "deal with it" doesn't mean they would not support casting off Sharia Law.

And you lost millions of highly skilled engineers, teachers, scientists, and skilled laborers because of it. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation
