I think the mistake the NFK made was to attempt to engage in more conventional warfare against a force with superior numbers and logistics. And of course, in a simpel war of attrition, the NFK would lose because it doesn't have the manpower. They aimed at destroying as much of your army as they could, and you had plenty to spare.
We didn't make that mistake. You remember our first move was to evacuate Korea and destroy all material which would be useful to you. In addition, we left behind Rangers in order to conduct guerrilla operations against your forces. This undoubtedly had an effect on the long-term occupation of Korea, and the ensuring logistical nightmare that was Korea put a severe drain on your resources. This made it relatively easy to take back.
After several attempts at this, which the same scenario played out, you basically gave up trying to take Korea.
This difference is evident in the targets which the NFK and Paternian Air Force targeted. The NFK mainly focused on tactical targets, while the majority of PAF operations were against logistics infrastructure such as bridges, tunnels, ports, airports, etc. And an army marches on its stomach.
Also, many of our offensives, notably Rising Storm, was aimed at causing as much destruction to your infrastructure before eventually retreating. It would be foolish to think that our North African forces could have held the area for an extended period of time, given that Arabia is the nerve center of your caliphate.
While our offensives in China was a tactical failure in that we were driven back and our aim was to retake China for the NFK, it was a strategic success, in that it successfully drew away forces that otherwise would have allowed you to respond to our Arabian intrusion. In addition, the offensive allowed us to gain a foothold on Hainan Island. Even though the Paternian Armed Forces would not do much with the island other than launch raids, the potential the island held for our use was too great to ignore.
Our mere presence on the island, as well as on Guadalcanal, forced you to tie up resources which could be used elsewhere. Think of the German Battleship Tirpitz.

I suppose an example is our tanks. Paternian tanks are lower profile machines and painted in subdued colors, to increase stealth and therefore improve the probability of a first shot advantage.
