@kerbober This mod! But if you can't get it it's not technically needed for this sub. It'll still dive as deep as you please, and runs on the surface quite well!
I think another good upload time might be in the evening on Fridays and Weekends. Peeps will most likely be on since they'll be off school/work then. Just my theory anyway, hope it helps!
@JamesBoA It was an epic undertaking for someone like me used to building submarines whose structure is centered around a cylinder XD Glad you like it!
I remember the time I played San Andreas, borrowed it for a time from a friend. At some point a favorite pastime of mine was to take this jet, fly it into a restricted zone to trigger a four star wanted level and dogfight the jets they sent. Good times, good times, also good build! Simple, low parts, good looks.
This is quite the fun little tank! Fast and nimble yet quite controllable, handling well on the offroad even on hills. I really love how the turret operates, full range of motion, movement almost completely independent of the main body, and all mapped to the the pitch and roll controls.
This is probably the best working tank I've ever downloaded! Everyone who makes tanks should make them like this!
The method to make an armored vehicles work well is not to lower the engine horsepower, it's actually to xml mod the wheels to limit their speed, or 'maximumAngularVelocity' in xml terms. Doing that allows you to benefit from the higher torque of greater engine power while limiting the speed. The torque will make the vehicle more effective at scaling steep inclines.
I could modify some wheels to your needs if you'd like. :) Give you a link to an unlisted upload.
You got it right, only missed the Capital L. ^^ Cool build! I like the missiles, small nimble and powerful, though the roll rate on them can make them spin like a centrifuge.
@Kimcotupan15 It's an awesome mod! Used it myself for my latest submarine, along with the plane it launches! A gift from the gods to all replica builders!
@Simpleplaner656 Yea XD The fuel is carried on the sub, and usually powers the ballast system via VTOL engine. Any engine you spawn with the craft will be fully functional and draw from a fuel source connected to the cockpit in some way. Regardless whether that engine is attached to the craft, which makes this idea possible!
Funny way you discovered that, I shouldn't be surprised somebody would try that!
@Theron That is true! I am aware of those. I believe submarines like the Japanese I-400 likely influenced designs such as the Halibut and Greyback given the functional similarities to how they worked. Just my personal speculation though.
Dang your submarines are great! Those tesla torpedoes are no joke, one shot of two taking out destroyers instantly! The engines do seem to shake around a bit, though it doesn't hinder the functionality or lead to any unwanted explosions.
I was NOT expecting this thing to get the 12 upvotes it did, let alone the 19 it has now! (as of posting this comment). Thanks for the pleasant surprise everyone!
Turns out my newer laptop actually can run this! With a decent but playable amount of lag. And it's quite the beautiful ship. Wonderfully detailed and armed as well as any ship of its kind should be!
A very fast, nimble, and fun little submarine that looks like something you might see out of a sixties James Bond film. I'm also pleased to see it's a free-diver! (my personal term for submarines which dive without using the typical piston method, like the subs I make)
Fun fact! My original concept for this was not to have the bulletScale illuminate targets, instead the idea was to have it utilize the 'enemy aircraft damaged' notification to track targets. In practice that didn't work, so I went on to use the illumination method.
@GeneralOliverVonBismarck Actually, it could still be handy for highlighting submarines if you put it on a ship below the water line. In theory anyway, against piston subs.
@VeryUnprofession There's a link to a 1.8 fix for the underwater camera mod on its mod page. Also good catch, it's more or less a simulation of active sonar and its function. That being to precisely pinpoint a target in water.
@VeryUnprofession I actually have a solution for that problem, download my Vertical Launch System for Submarines, it keeps your weapons safe! Though specialized for missiles it can work for torps as well!
@blueangelproduction One day I remembered that I took one of the miniguns off that GAMF-Camilla android, the ones that create light saber blades, and saved it as a subassembly. After copying its xml stats on a wing gun I copied it and put four more on the wing then rotated them in a manner as to spread out their bullets. I then set the bulletScale really high, making it especially long.
Due to how the bullets are modded, they're perfectly visible when firing underwater. In case it's hard to tell from the screenshots the idea is to more or less 'illuminate' the target, letting you see them.
I was partially inspired by how nearly impossible a spawned submarine can be to find when the AI can make it dive. Before only Gestour's Radar plugin could let you locate them, but it's out of date, so here is an alternative!

@Gameboi14 @Carbonfox1 Now you know what it looks like!
@Carbonfox1 Thanks again!
@Carbonfox1 Thank you! I'd have considered that tiger, but as you can see the part count was already getting high for something this large.

+1@Aeromen Perfect Centerpiece for Chairman Cheng's propaganda.
@JamesBoA It was an epic undertaking for someone like me used to building submarines whose structure is centered around a cylinder XD Glad you like it!
@randomusername Thank you!
+1Oh my gosh yes! Simply built yet elegant, also flies really well as long as you use mouse control. The custom camera's pretty awesome as well!

+7@Carbonfox1 Hmmm, not a bad idea! I'll consider it!
@Carbonfox1 Yea it kinda does, not the greatest choice of pic xP.
@randomusername I'll keep that idea in mind, thank you!

@Toxicareonuatics Here
@Toxicareonuatics Underwater Camera mod lets the camera go underwater.
I like how that thing has a built in HUD which shows you the attitude of the engines. Not only great for aesthetics, but useful as well!
+3Awesome! Enjoy your summer!
@JDog3106 Yea it does, and no problem!
You got it right, only missed the Capital L. ^^ Cool build! I like the missiles, small nimble and powerful, though the roll rate on them can make them spin like a centrifuge.
@JDog3106 Awesome!
@Gameboi14 Have a safe trip! And best of luck!

+1@Kimcotupan15 You use the Designer Suite mod?
And I thought your planes looked great before, now they're looking even better!
+1Beautiful recreation of a Beautiful fictional plane.
@SakuraSaku Thank you!

Having problems using missiles with submarines? Give this a try if you haven't already.

@GeneralOliverVonBismarck Show meeeee
@GeneralOliverVonBismarck ok take that back, it CAN decently handle around 1700 parts, but definitely not 3K!
Turns out my newer laptop actually can run this! With a decent but playable amount of lag. And it's quite the beautiful ship. Wonderfully detailed and armed as well as any ship of its kind should be!
+2You lucky bastard! I have a laptop and it has issues running 1k! Yea it should definitely be an option if some mobile devices can run THAT!
@GeneralOliverVonBismarck Smacks self Of course!

@XxDannehxX So it doesn't work well on those settings? If so I'll add a note to the description, thank you!
@VeryUnprofession you can find it here

+3Wonderful idea to use rockets! Great for hitting submerged submarines, though perhaps it could use some sonar to help with target acquisition.
@Kimcotupan15 You're welcome! ^^
