Okay having not read the comments and just looked at the thumbnails and descriptions I was expecting a Gif....and that would have been impressive. But making an entire ANIMATION!? This deserves a feature!
Laptops would suffer less if peeps who made big ships took the drag outta their hulls and details. Just one little part with scaled drag, and an airbrake with the 'v>#' input to set maximum speed. A big part of the lag will be gone. I will probably at some point make a PSA post detailing this, because I know big builds like these will be so much less laggy when you get rid of the drag. Just some friendly advice.
@Tang0five I mean submarines that use pistons with ultra buoyant blocks on the ends for diving. Diving being done via extending the pistons (which usually have range extended via overload). Compared to what I do at least it's a pretty simple and easy way toward making a submarine dive.
Changing missile Damage as a thing will require one thing be removed from the game. In my experience explosive weapons (missiles, bombs, explosive shells) seem to completely bypass any forms of damage protection.
.
Neither high health points, partcollisionresponse=false, nor anything I've seen seems to protect even the largest builds from getting one hit even by a puny Air-to-Air missile! Explosive weapons have a cheat for their damage that needs to be removed, replaced with proper, numerical damage.
In my experience the Undo function is so capricious that it's better to just save often and reload when you mess something up. It'll either undo multiple steps or even inexplicably redo something.
@Bismark Free to use! That's why I uploaded them, keep in mind they're made for a more advanced method of making submarines, so be prepared to make careful adjustments. Also watch out for glitches, these are very powerful wing based engines.
I see what you did there, putting the cockpit into the SLUAV, clever way to make it all work! I'm curious if you used a winch to keep the SLUAV connected to the alicorn since I couldn't see a line connecting it.
Very nicely made visually, clean lines and a very impressive amount of detail for under 300 parts. Flies naturally, being very stable and maneuverable while also punishing you if you fly it like a maniac (like I did the first couple attempts, but I figured it out!)
There are two main methods to make a submarine dive, the simple way is to put pistons on your sub, use overload to extend their range, add tiny fuselage blocks with their buoyancy set really high to the pistons (using overload to set the buoyancy really high). You'll be able to use VTOL via the pistons to lower the sub.
The other way that I use is rather complex, but I have a guide to it linked on my profile.
@Nonamepilot Reverse is one thing I've not implemented into my Submarines. I haven't seen a need or them given the amount of room present, and had yet to think of a way to implement it. However with FunkyTrees there might be a way or two I can do brakes so perhaps in the future.
.
As for my absence look to my post 'I needed a break, and I'm making some changes' and it will explain my absence, which has nothing to do with the pandemic and I am doing just fine.
@toxicgamer88 Fair enough, I was originally going to have a throttle based system for switching from creep motors to main motor using Funky Trees, but I couldn't quite figure it out. Also you're right! Thanks for the correction silly me.
A very special thanks to everyone who has brought me to platinum, take this message and submarine as my thanks :) I've come a long way since my early posts on this site, and although I won't post as often anymore I intend to make the most of when I do!
Makes sense to be honest, not saying everyone's post needs to be a highly descriptive one with screenshots and all but people should at least list what a thing they upload does whether it be their own build or a successor.
@Gameboi14 Yea I suspect the actual platinum threshold is 25.05k or something. I've seen a couple users in black with 25.0k. No matter, I'm certain if not before I'll definitely get the black once I upload my Alfa. It is strange that you didn't find much attention on a weekend post as that's normlly the best time. Perhaps you'll find more success in time with more Hot Wheels cars, you make them pretty well and I'm sure a lotta peeps here would love to see some made! Heaven knows there's plenty of cool Hot Wheels Cars you can build!
A little roughness here and there aside, this is actually quite an attractive carrier design, the battleship style hull combined with the uniquely shaped flight deck gives it a unique look! The other little details are nice too.
Very nicely built ship you have there! The weapons work pretty well too, although I'm not a fan of having steering set to the same control as the turrets, kinda makes it difficult to aim unless stationary. But otherwise great build! The visuals are for sure second to none.
It's a gorgeous replica and all, and quite refined in its flight, but I think the most impressive thing about this is that it achieves full glitch-free function with 0 drag.
@Gameboi14 Because I haven't posted in a while, and the last few upvotes just weren't enough. If not before I'll certainly reach plat once I post this Speedy Soviet boi.
Now this is cool! A rotator with speed control! This is perfect for use in my submarines, no more need for pitch control in the blades. So long as you don't mind I would love to make use of this wonderful subassembly, and credit you in the finished build once it's posted.

+5@ACEPILOT109 Um....okay?

@Tang0five @qwerty132 I never said I'd decline piston submarines, and I see no reason why those would be unviable to build in phone.
+1You should totally give it Anti-Submarine Nuke Rockets.
@Quip That old thing? Brings back memories of before I knew the best way to build subs, lol.
+1Changing missile Damage as a thing will require one thing be removed from the game. In my experience explosive weapons (missiles, bombs, explosive shells) seem to completely bypass any forms of damage protection.
+2.

+2The 'Mint Lynx' has been a sort of online avatar of mine for a while now, I just brought it along when I joined here.
+1The Virgin Tracks Mod VS The Chad Custom Tracks.

+2Stuff like this is why Spiritus Raptor's got the most points on this site.
+7@asteroidbook345 That's why I like to call it the 'Blockhead' cruiser.

+1@KerlonceauxIndustries
@MrSilverWolf Also, adding the jet in there to enhance the engine sound is also a nice touch :)

Upload with Screenshots: Unavailable to Mobile Users
Mobile Users: Make their own backgrounds with shiny fuselage blocks.
@FastRacer023 Wow, I mean this thing is fast but only by submarine standards! Must have had a lotta time to kill lol.
That's some fine gunnery there!

A Yamato for under 500 parts!? Can it be???
+4@Leonidas1210 Take it apart and look at the functional bits, you might figure things out :) That's been a big part of my learning experience.
+1@Rougeclone The Red October itself is a Typhoon class, but an Alfa Class is present within the story, the Konovalov.
+2@Hedero As strange as it is I've never seen it spelled any other way than that. Must be from another language or something.
Stable in flight and surprisingly easy to land given the unusual functions. Low part count with simple yet relatively smooth structure, nice build!
+1@fridolin Sky Park Navy.

+2777 parts, lucky number!
@Omel Thanks for pushing me into the black! You and all those who have previously upvoted. I hope the Lira will prove a sufficient thank you!
+1Oh hey! You beat me to Platinum! Nice.
@Gameboi14 Lucky! I only had around 80 by the time I grew out of the hobby. Sounds like you'll have plenty of inspiration.
@Jerba First thing not unexpected, second thing I have not seen it do lol.

@trolman People still have that mod? Good golly that's been broken for ages.

Hot wheels build? Heck yea! I used to collect those when I was a kid.
+10:30 "Undestroyable"
0:52 Well, the main body's intact so I'll give you that.
+2Not sure there's anything on SP that's more broken.
+5@Gameboi14 I wish you the best of luck!
Now this is the best teaser for a build I've yet seen!
