You want your build to be clearly visible, no night screenshots! A well lit daytime screenshot is best. Picking some nice scenery to have your build in or around (such as places in a Mod map) can help make it more eye catching. Some simple yet nice labeling can also help make a screenshot more noticeable among the others.
@SteelwingAerospace Good question! The simple way of making default missiles fire from underwater is to add a thing to the “missile” part of the Overload menu. “waterproof” to the left and “true” to the right (without quotes).
.
For what I have done with my subs, it involves making what is functionally a deployable aircraft which can maneuver and is equipped with a bomb warhead or weapon. For ballistic missiles, the cannon is a good option alongside the use of a winch to keep the missile connected after launch. They’ve used things ranging from zero damage guns, rocket boosters, or even just detacher force to push them out of the water enough for the jet engines to carry them along.
No matter what the website, achievement points (whether they be the common likes, or the upvotes here) can be a dangerously addictive thing. It's best to limit one's desire for them to ensure an underperforming build doesn't do more than disappoint.
If you build the same thing for too long without so many improvement, your successes will stagnate. So at some point, even if you're well known for one thing, branch out! Even if not immediate in earning points, it'll be worthwhile in more ways than one!
Being a bad builder is not being low in skill with building, that's a hurdle that can be overcome with Patience and Persistence. Being a bad builder is giving up and internalizing the 'I suck at building' mentality to the point of not trying anymore.
Giving too much assistance to newbie builders can lead to them becoming overly dependent on such assistance. In general, avoid doing anything substantial for them!
Don't use a screenshot of your build at night for the upload, it'll very likely murder its potential for being noticed.
Beware of SP discord servers, they might be good but they might also prove a bit too 'rowdy' for your liking, or they might implode on themselves and have every channel but one deleted. If you've found one or two good servers, you should probably stick with them.
With all the stuff this guy is making he's fixing to have the pieces he needs to make his own vehicle builder game. All the more reason for Jundroo to hire him.
@Birdman9301 And I thought Nintendo was coocoo for copyright takedowns. Going after a website dedicated to a moderately popular indie game just to take down a replica for having the mere name to a replica, on something that isn't even remotely commercial.
.
It's like Honda has a bot whose sole purpose is to search every instance of the name ever put on any part of the internet. Either that or they're so hair trigger with takedowns the Mods were paranoid of one. At this rate they'd take down a child's hand drawn picture of their Dad's Honda, I swear. I'm glad knock on wood Mazda, Toyota, Nissan, and Mitsubishi aren't so crazy.
I built a plane similar to this back when I was new to the game. It had a similar wing and engine setup. This basic layout of aircraft seems to be quite resilient when losing parts.
You should consider using partcollisionresponse = none on the track and suspension parts. That prevents parts from taking damage from collisions. This is completely different from "disableAircraftCollisions" as it does not prevent parts from colliding, just prevents them from being damaged or destroyed by collisions.
I'm quite impressed at how well you made the real tracks work on this thing. Normally they tend to be prone to breaking, especially in irregular terrain and while turning. After making a very intentional effort to break the tracks I found that the worst that would happen would be them partially coming off only to prove relatively easy to put back on. Very nice!
@WolfSpark The Keeling from the book that the movie is based on is a Mahan, so this is in fact the Destroyer from the book. The movie used the Kidd (A Fletcher) because it was an actual world war 2 destroyer they were able to find and use as a Set.
@TMach5 Well I use the Ocean mod, which doubles as a great underwater camera mod since it doesn't force you into orbit camera unlike WNP's underwater camera mod. I chose a blue color for the ocean from its underwater color option. (since it has that and the default color is an odd grey, at least it was for me)
Action: Gameplay recording was used to record short clips before going to ezgif to convert them into Gifs. I then post those Gifs onto discord (since Imgur, and seemingly all image host sites are unreliable for images here), open original, copy that link for use on the post.
@Jester There seems to be an issue with default torpedoes sometimes just dropping into the depths on launch instead of floating at or to the surface. If you find the time off your next masterpiece project it would be nice if you could look into it!
@Souka Go ahead! I'd love to see what you'd do with it.
@Site How so?
@AdMiRaLSoviet It's been a while, I likely will at some point in the future.
The way you made that thing faceplant at 1:33 was hilarious.
+2@Dathcha A 584 part alongside a 424 part version will be available upon release.

@SteelwingAerospace I have one, click the link on my profile to access my build index and you'll find it there.
+2@F104Deathtrap Thinking U-505 if not a submarine of its configuration
"Keep it down!" as if that noise would be at all possible to miss lol, those kids had no idea.
+4@AN2Felllla most likely, since U-505 had one and it provides some nice contrast.
@TheVexedVortex Record a short clip with whatever gameplay recording thing you have, import to ezgif, save converted gif.
+1No dice if you're on mobile.
I would agree, Simpleplanes is in many ways less a game and more an art program with playability. That simple fact is really the draw of it.

(very recently) Not even simpleplanes.com is safe from a copyright-crazed Japanese brand

Is there some risk of a copyright attack at just posting the name of the manufacturer here? Also great build!
+3@DanDaFreakinMan This wasn’t designed to be a road hugging racecar, it was made to be a car that can lose its rear if you don’t drive carefully.
@OhBoy By all means

@Clutch Ocean mod made by Jester, you'll find it easy on the highest rated mods.
@Swiper At some point.

@Charris969 Yea, looking back even I'm surprised how many weapons I installed here.
When it comes to Bio-mechanical kinds of builds, you are second to none!
+1Missiles and other explosive weapons have a cheap insta-kill effect which ignores health points and collision response entirely
@Jester There seems to be an issue with default torpedoes sometimes just dropping into the depths on launch instead of floating at or to the surface. If you find the time off your next masterpiece project it would be nice if you could look into it!
+1@redbear89 Zubr is there, I've seen it at least once.
Still a better meme build than the Airbrake covered monstrosity whose name we shall not speak.
+6What we need is the removal of the cheap 'insta-kill' effect of explosive weapons.
+3It's always cool to see low point users suddenly come out with High Gold or even Platinum Tier user level builds.
@WolfSpark A Type IX yes, but not this model :)
@WolfSpark I already made a Gato so that narrows it :)
Finally! Torpedo Tiiime!
+2Neat screenshot, looks like an old Mitsubishi ad from a Magazine.
A sneaky little bastard, aren't you.
You deserve only a strike for this lazy, unfunny rule breaking crap. Make a forum post if you want points.
@frank77831 Seemed sensible to do so after the number of builds I got went pretty high, un-clutter the profile.
