I did alot of experimenting while building a katyusha here's what I observed
1.The missle(unguided) always travels in a straight line and never bends it's trajectory unless you do it physically like using engines with the custom missle. Explodes when out of fuel
Only the guided missle can bend it's trajectory .when the missle doesn't have a target it will start falling even if it still have thrust or fuel
There are funky trees to make ut missle stronger but I can't be botherd with that.

Go back to that build and check the parts count to actually check if it's gone,and you said the last thing was you put was a gauge u prob placed it faraway and now it's gone .if u can still use the plane to fly use the plane to dogfight and if it says "u touched water" then yea u prob placed something
The problem is it doesn't have a yaw stabilizer the are multiple wats to fix this issue
1 put a vertical wing easy (if you don't wanna ruin the looks just put it inside the craft
2using airbrakes stabilizer
3using thrust to straighten
